I played this course years ago and it was immaculate ,I wondered what happened .
I played there about 8 months ago. The pro shop guy said that they were limited in the amount of water they could use in that area. In that part of Texas there has really not been any ran. They allocate all their water to the greens not the fairway.
You putted amazingly well considering the condition of the greens. And I loved the review.

Played here for a bachelor trip. Had no idea what to expect but the guy in the pro shop said it be perfect for us since we had some guys who didn’t golf. It was blowing about 25 mph and was dry as the Sahara lol. Conditions 10x worse than what Josh faces. We were the only people on the course, took 2 hours for lunch because the pro shop guy was also the cook. He also told us the back 9 was like Augusta… needless to say we drank plenty of beer and had a blast

I live near Canyon Lake. We have not had rain since June. No telling when he recorded this but some courses just were not prepared for the dry streak and they look and play like this.
As a fellow texan I don't understand how they were not prepared for it.
Some lawn maintenance and clean up even with the lack of water would make a world of difference! Great video ⛳️🙌🏽
This was my first course I ever played. At the time, it was in great condition and a course I was able to recommend. I don't live in the area, but every time I visited the area, I noticed this course starting to deteriorate during each visit. My uncle was a member and eventually canceled his membership and we stopped playing there and started playing at Landa and Rebecca Creek. A couple of weeks ago we had a tee time for Sunday at Rebecca Creek and decided to go to Lakeside's driving range to hit balls the day before. When we went in, the man behind the counter said it would only be few bucks extra to play the course and that the course was in good shape. We looked at the first hole and thought ok we'll give this course one more try. It was a trick, the first hole was ok, but once you got to the 2nd hole, we realized that we got screwed out of 5 bucks. It was terrible. Some greens were brown, 0 green on them. You can get your ball lost in some fairways. There is hole that used to have a split fairway and now the left side of the split is filled with logs. They really need to bulldoze this course to the ground. It is beyond repair sadly.
Actually after checking you do get the putt. The ball came to rest below the surface.

You need to come to pflugerville texas and go to blackhawk golf course. You will find out how bad it is when you come.

It looks like it could a be decent course if some maintance was done. The green just need to be mowed. But respect to worker at the desk to inform you about the conditions. But he price for the greenfee was way too high!! They should just concentrate on watering the tee boxes and greens. The rest you can live with!! Still good round Josh!!🏌♂⛳ I thought the same thing about the pool 🛹

They say technology and training has changed the game so that courses seem easier for the pros. I say make them play here for the Masters and host the US Open at Links At Victoria to even the odds again.

Ha! I live about 25 minutes from this course. I played it in August with my son because he is a beginner and it was the only local course with open weekend tee times. It actually was worse than your video looked. Yes, we have had a drought around here, but the course was awful before the drought. Some locals bring a hitting mat to play and skip the greens. I told my son that I thought that RUclipsr who plays the worst rated golf courses ought to play here.

you should do a series of playing golf courses on military bases. fort sill has a great and challenging course... Altus AFB has probably the worst course i have ever played had fairways crossing each other and everything was the same color so you really could not tell where you were supposed to go and it was a really flat course.

I was playing our local shitty course and was on hole 2 par 3. Launched a gap wedge and punched the green, stopped on a literal sand berm 2 inches from the hole….
its crazy they charge 25 for 9, i played 18 at an amazing course for 25 yesterday.
