Poor Duck Creek... The club house burned down last year. This used to be a country club that went under. Then got picked up by someone else who has been trying to put in money to get the course up to par. Its been a struggle. That course used to be amazing.

Middle class man here who loves playing golf! I grew up playing these types of courses… great deals! $36 for 18 with a cart and two waters… c’mon now! Municipal courses can be fun because they can be challenging due to the lack of care/management that the nicer courses provide. It’s best to use these courses for learning shots that you might not find yourself hitting in nicer establishments

As a long time former member and two time club champion at Victoria, here’s the scoop. The greens and teeing areas have always been good due to them being built up (eliminating toxic chemicals getting through) The fairways went from poor to great after over a million $ was put into it. They are now beyond bad. You can’t grow grass on an old landfill is the lesson here.

I lived in the eagle crest neighborhood for about 5 years. From what I am told it used to be a really nice course. The owner died long time ago & was inherited by his wife, she put almost no money into it & let it die. There was a new housing development in the works that promised a lot of money going to the course. This was shot down a few years ago so she finally started putting some money into it, got a little better.
However she sold the course a few months ago and the new owner is planning to put a lot of money into the course with a great company JC managing it.
The grass was all fried because the first thing they did was over water the greens and killed just about everything else, it wasn’t exactly all green before, but it was nothing like that.
Hopefully you can make it back out after the reopening all though I highly doubt it’ll be late summer 2024

I grew up on small town 9 hole goat tracks. I used to be a member at a club in the desert that had pea gravel for rough and telephone poles running across a few fairways. You hit a wire, the ball would go in alarming directions. I used to play on course in coastal Georgia right by a massive paper mill. The course ran through a swamp, and the paper mill stunk like toxic waste. One of my playing partners called it "Chernobyl." I used to play a course in the Midwest where every green was the same size, about 20 feet in diameter, and the greens were sand. You'd take a roller to smooth the greens a little before putting. I learned to play on a little 9 hole dump with train tracks running right by three holes. It could be deafening when one of those things would come through. I think I've played worse courses.

Just found this channel, love your sarcastic commentary and how you have fun with this! You need to go play Blackhawk Golf course in Pflugerville Tx. It’s rated 3.1 on Google and def worse than the ones in this video, besides Eagle Crest.

The raking of the bunker was an instant classic

I would definitely suggest Pete brown in Jackson, MS. But it might be too bad. I recently played it with a coworker and he described it before playing as a warzone. When on the green of the first par 3 the golfers behind us teed off. Also we got the cart stuck in mud which might have been more on us but still. A nightmarish golf experience.

Be very careful using those water stations. Especially in Texas, snakes like to hide in the cold damp boxes.

I'm not sure if you've hit the Central Florida path of shame. I play regularly at Remington and Kissimmee Bay (Both 3.7 stars)
if that's not bad enough, you can try Oaks National (3.5)
but the piece de resistance is Stoneybrook East at a very generous 2.6 stars

If you have the time and money you should try the Nullarbor Links Golf Course in Australia. It is 848 Miles long and will take you at least 2 or 3 days to complete minimum

Ive played all of these courses. Back around 2010 when I was living in Richardson Duck Creek was a hidden gem...

I live in Maine and I can assure you this course is much MUCH nicer than some of the hayfields/cow pastures we have up here.
$36 for 18 hole and a cart is a bargain.

you gotta visit TK's back nine in Maryland. its right behind an airport so its convenient. interesting par 3 course which has its own charm. pink tractor with lips. teeing off of a pontoon boat (on land sadly). no hole is longer than 120 yards. very small greens with insane slopes

I can promise you if you want to be dissapointed go to ole Monterey golf course in Roanoke Va. used to be a beautiful course. It has turned into a hayfield, would be great for the series
