Hilarious to me because they so heavily marketed Ram as the guy who could "pull flying dos out of the air" but in reality vortex can't do that at all.
If you notice he does have some tips against other counters but mainly you gotta be more cautious against them.
I guess there is none against Pharah for Rama so you just switch to hard counter her back XD
It works at lower ranks but field is too small to catch a good one 😅
Really he was kind of implying that it’s just not Ram’s job, which is fair. He only needs to switch if the rest of the team can’t kill her. At least he can help a little with his primary fire!

Yeah can’t believe how badly I’ve been using vortex. Never thought of it to stop coach gun, winston jump etc
@@lukescovell8294 I've also been wasting it by using it early on groups of full-health enemies to try and build some ult charge. I'm realizing now that doing that just feeds ult charge to their supports and does not threaten the enemy at all lol. I could get a lot more value by using it to get picks faster/prevent escapes when pummeling an isolated target.

Annihilation also completely counters brigs ult as it does the same damage it heals for. Some might say brig counters ramattra ult but if the enemy was planning there push off that ult I think it's the other way around most of the time especially seeing that ramattra eats up brig in nemesis form.
Yeah you have to force Ram to chase you in his ult. If you are the offensive side, his ult work as intended.

Shields block LOS for Ram's ult, so a smart Brig can react to it by using her own ult and using the bigger shield to end Ram's ult early and stun him so he can't chase. Of course, that only works is the entire team is behind the Brig, and it means Rally has to be used defensively instead of offensively, so there's still potentially value there.

I main Ramattra since he launched and knew a lot of this already, but that Zen tip is actually really useful. I've been having a hard time against him and have even resorted to flanking him (which is terrible as tank lmao) thanks for the tips!

I'm convinced that no one in the Overwatch community knows the difference between a one-shot and burst damage.

So the only time I specifically heard him say one shot was with junk, mentioning him one shotting squishies? Which in junkrats case its considered a one shot combo, but considering that the person presenting is a high skill player he is likely short handing the term. Also, since ideally a high skill junkrat would be landing those abilities as the same time, all the "Burst" damage is happening at the same moment, in one attack.

He also mentioned it with the Tracer tip. He says to hit her twice then melee to one-shot her.
Neither that nor the Junkrat combo are "one-shots".
@@OGEdger okay, so personally I still disagree with your stance on junkrats one shot. The timing of releasing the mine and activating the Concussive depletes the enemy hp from 200 to 0 in one shot of damage, but I will give you that it is technically a one shot combo and is not a one shot by definition, I'll give you that it's bursting them down more than one shotting them, but given that when junkrat lands the combo there is not reacting to it, because the damage happens all at once, I will still call it a one shot.
On the tracer point, though, I think that comes down to symantics. He clearly meant one shot combo her, but, again, he's a high skill player so he is likely shortening the term to one shot, and assuming you'll understand that he means burst her down quickly.

This character has some of the coolest gameplay, I, enjoy how weird his skill floor is while the skill ceiling is matchup dependant, and simply learning the counterplay tricks makes him play a lot like a fighting game character (which is probably intended)
I haven't played OW in a year but I still watch these video's, they're just enjoyable on their own

woah, first time I hear someone legitimately give the advice to just swap off agaisnt a hero, I am impressed. (regarding pharah)
It'S rae you see one of these advice video acknowledge that sometimes you need to swap, period. If nobody contenst pharmercy, they win. if nobody else does, you will have to do it. It's very ironic that it's exactly pharah, the hero we thought Ramattra would be able to counter before his release.

It’s funny how Blizzard introduced Ram to be this tank that counters flying heroes by pulling them down when they’re actually one of his biggest DPS counters haha

KSAA to OWL!! This guy has been camping the rank 1 EU for weeks and no one's been able to take his spot yet
One thing that was not mentioned cause it was probably seen as very basic is that 3 pummels + melee is a kill on a 200 health target as it does 210 damage, provided they don't get any healing.
That was mentioned in the "3 tips for every ability" video with yeatle

I find it interesting that he didn't say that you shouldn't use your ult as long as orisa has her jav. It is one of the things I learned the hard way while climbing to masters as a ram onetrick.

Good video but you should start doing again 1 genral tip i know you do the videos of 3 tipd for every ability but i think you should talk about 1 genral tip before the hero matcups in these kinds of videos and the genral tip is basicly how to get value from the hero

You should make the reverse video for new characters as well, 1 tip for every hero to counter ram
same as for every tank with relatively low mobility: keep safe distance, use high ground, use off angles
Use vortex on doom for when he’s trying to run, not engage, it just makes the slam faster 😂
Use vortex when engaging junk he cant mine jump away and will often blow both mines trying to run

Sometimes if I'm 1v1ing a tank, and there's an ana keeping em alive, I'll shield the ana's LoS before going into nemesis

I love how everyone thought Rammatra would be a hard tank Pharah counter with vortex but the ability is so garbage that it doesn’t even reach high enough to catch Pharah. They should buff the range of the ability tbh, for something with such a long cooldown.
Gotta love when a tip against a hero is "Just swap", really shows there is an issue in the match-up balance
1) just swap *if your hitscan aren't dealing with her*
2) every character should have characters that are hard counters.
@@cousinpatsey2471 The discussion of whether hard counters should exist in overwatch is not a new one but I am of the position that they should not, this is also the approach Blizzard seems to be shifting to as heroes become more generalists.
"Enemy is playing therefore you should swap unless they aren't getting value" is just unfun game design imo as it tends to force you onto heroes that you probably don't enjoy, irrelevant whether you are good at them or not.
@@theslenderfox generalist design leads to overloaded kits and defacto "best characters", while actually limiting design space. Ie, a cool close range character might not get designed, because how will they deal with X hero.
And it forces you to play differently, but even in the example given, a fairly hard counter, it doesn't force a swap. It requires your team to work together more. Ram can't play against Pharah, which is good. He shouldn't be able to. It just means his team has to cover for that. Again, like the video said, swap *if your hitscan isn't doing it*. You can still play against the counter, just shift how you play and who your targets are.

It's more a tool to prevent them to take off. For example, a diving winston will struggle if caught in the ability. Same for doom
thanks man, but honestly it just speaks to the state of the poor balance in this game that for some of the enemy heros the tip is just "switch off to their counter"
