Why Is Boba Fett's Ship Called Slave 1 And Why Have They Changed the Name?
HTML-код

- Boba Fett's ship has one of the most iconic designs in all of Star Wars. However, its name has been a point of controversy. It seems as though Disney is very keen to move away from the Slave One name and towards something less divisive. As the book of Boba Fett seemed to conform, they have renamed the ship, the fire spray, which was originally the name of the ship's model. Of course, this caused a bit of an uproar within the fandom. Disney likely wants to get away from any suggestions that Boba Fett could have been a Slave Trader of some kind. After all he was a brutal bounty hunter in the original trilogy while the Book of Boba Fett has tried to characterize him as a benevolent dictator. However, Boba or Jango being a slave trader is very likely not the origin of the name. After his faction was defeated by the Jedi and Death Watch, Jango Fett was sold into slavery, with many speculating that this is the true origin of the ship's name.

Being able to think freely is to risk being offensive. So it is inevitable that if you create freely, you will offend some groups of people by what you create. This is not a concept modern day Disney (or modern day America for that matter) understands. Which is why you have the transformation of once vibrant and beloved stories, characters and worlds into bland, boring, and empty shells of what could have been something great.
The slave 1 got its name from when Jango was sold into slavery. At some point or another, his captor was killed and he took that as an opportunity to look for an escape. He flew off in the slave 1 ship and decided to name it that way as kind of like a play on words. He was a slave who escaped his captors. He won, the slave won, hence the name Slave 1.

Who is offended by the name Slave 1, be offended by the fact people are still in slavery today, Mauritania only made Slavery Illegal in 2007 and in order to prosecute a slave owner, the slave needs to escape, go to a police station and fill out a written complaint in Arabic, it has to be filled out by the victim, with no outside help. Arrogance let's us believe we invented all evil things and ideas. Our bleak past must be used as cautionary tales of how it was done the wrong way, which every generation dating back to the very beginning of time has done. We improve what we were left with. The name never changed and is still called Slave-1 in Disney World. It's just not used onscreen because it actually is pretty tone-deaf, even for Boba who was a slave himself. I can't imagine why some Star Wars fans are so emotional over an obscure ship name. Like, literally who cares. Boba's ship's name [isn't] what made the ship popular. Get over it, people.

It was Boba Fetts clone father's ship that was passed down to Boba. Disney doesn't even know the story of a company they bought. And actually, before it was Jango Fett's ship (Boba's dad,) it belonged to guards/a planetary police force. So after 2 and maybe even more people owning Slave 1 before Boba, why does that mean Boba SPECIFICALLY was a slave trader? How does that even make sense?

Same way how Luke might say "I need my X-Wing." X-Wing isn't the name of his ship, it's the model.
In the Mandalorian Armor book, the name is supposed to reflect on how cold Boba Fett is. He doesn't give his ship an affectionate name, it's just a tool to him. Of course it was retconned to be Jango'd ship but same diff

The ship is a Firespray. Just like the Millennium Falcon is a YT-1300 light freighter . Not everyone in the universe is going to know your specific ship's pet name. But most people will know what a Firespray is.
Disney wants to avoid talking about slavery because they're so afraid of a bad reputation they pretend like slavery has never existed.
New name idea: unpaid worker 1
Firespray is just the name of the kind of ship, like the make of it. Slave I will always be it's name, no matter if Disney doesn't like it
Bro Disney expecting slaves from a third world country to just leave their countries fly to Washington and sue them
I had always thought that it was Jango's perspective on the clones, on how his clones were basically slaves and that he is the origin of this.
It’s “SLAVE I”, because that’s what it said on the toy box, and on the back of the Empire Strikes Back trading cards from TOPPS, so basically ’nuff said. Anyways, the word “slave” has a few different meanings, and in fact there are more human slaves now than at any point in human history (fun fact).
Jango found it on an asteroid prison during a job. There was only 5 ships and he destroyed the other 4 during his escape making it one of a kind
Disney making boba fett out to be a benevolent but harsh leader as opposed to a ruthless bounty hunter who will go to brutal extents to subdue his bounties is an even worse crime against the community and the fans of the character than renaming Slave 1 to Firespray
Its the slave 1 for me and Ill just accept that when hes calling it firespray he refers to the Model as they might not know the ship by Name
Ah yes, let's get mad at a fictional character's spaceship name. That accomplishes so much, and makes star wars fans look so good.
Firespray still isn't the ship's name. i
It's the manufacturing model.
If Boba had said "help me retrieve my Slave 1" to Fennec, i think she would've been confused
