you should've broken up with him when he started comparing. But atleast they found a match for each other. And whenever you think about the pick me, just remember... she'll lose to you in a competition of looking good, being healthy, being tall , being likeable, having a good personality, not being toxic and, most importantly , a fist fight. Don't feel bad just because your ex had bad taste(not talking about you, im talking abt the pickme) He didn't even deserve you , you should be glad and move onto a guy who can maintain a healthy relationship.

Damn hearing the 100 pounds remark reminds me of being told by another girl that I needed to be on weight watchers because I was 100 pounds. I was like a freshman in high school at that time. And I'm only registering how fucked up that is now. Ironically I ended up staying in shape, but I don't believe she did. Crazy how school girls can either be wonderful life long friends or horrific demons.
A lot of it is honestly girls regurgitating what they've personally been told. People talk a lot about how toxic teenage girls are while never examining how they and others treat girls differently from boys in their childhood and teens.
"could never become one of the guys" Jocelyn then goes on to become a transgender male and gets together with Cassidy, they both go to therapy and together get rid of their toxic ideologys. After highschool they get married, Cassidy goes to college to become a vet and Jocelyn becomes a stay at home dad. And they all lived happily ever after.
The “iM sO lItTlE” brings back unwanted memories or this girl in line 3rd grade who said she was 30 pounds. She was about the same size as me, and I was NOT any where NEAR 30 pounds. She was the definition of a pick me in elementary school
That’s actually… extremely scary. 30 pounds is definitely underweight for that age. Clearly an older influence in her life (most likely her mom, but you never know) was enforcing an unhealthy body image onto her, perhaps even encouraging an ED, considering she was gloating about weighing so little (even if she didn’t, she obviously wanted to). No child should have to be so conscious about how much they weigh, unless it’s for health related reasons. I truly hope she’s gotten better by now; recovering from that sort of thing is a very lengthy process, and I’m sure it’s even more difficult when it’s started at such an early age.
And then the girls put aside their differences, stop shaming each other for the things they like, and slowly start to get along with each other, and understanding that they don't need to impress guys to be valid :)
fishing technically isnt a sport bc the definition of sport is "an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment."
Fun fact- in my class we literally had both the pick me girls. Like the sporty one that's one of the guys and the overly sensitive one. They hated each other. The sensitive one made it her mission to make everyone look bad(so everyone didn't like her.) Then the sporty one who decided she wanted to make the quiet kids her best friends (the quiet kids being me and another girl) , she wouldn't care about anything the guys did no matter how bad it was, she would also claim to have a crush on literally everyone. She yelled a lot about the other pick me too. Essentially once I switched schools, I made it my mission to never come in contact with either, ever again.
"I'm literally so tiny, and short, and petite" - this type of girl would ALWAYS bully me for being tall, broad-shouldered, with large hands and feet, and no curves, but guess who gets told to get into modelling nowadays BECAUSE of those traits
It’s like just being a tomboy is a crime these days, I bet there are some girls out there who are ACTUALLY “one of the guys”, naturally if you don’t have similar interests with some people and are into sports/fitness you tend to have more guy friends
Why does this remind me of the time that a kid in my class said to me “you Don’t know anything about basketball” then I was like “uhh, yea I do. 1. I play basketball 2. That’s sexist.” He apologized though and said he didn’t mean it like that so we’re all good.
I'm friends with a group of boys from my class because they mean a lot to me. When the girls of the class bullied me and left me out because I was a "nerd", I found them, a group of nerds, willing to help. We've been friends ever since.
I know this comment is old but i just wanna say, yeah. Like pick mes and nlogs obviously suck but SOMETIMES they almost get pushed into that role by other girls not accepting them. Like in kindergarten, the girls in my class literally would not play with me and when we were doing a sandcastle building competition between then boys and girls, the girls told me i had to build with the boys because they didnt want me on their team. So yeah, all of my friends were boys. I literally didnt have a choice. No wonder i felt like i wasnt like the other girls, the other girls told me i was different 🤷🏻♀️
Wait same because when I was like 13 the girls at school didn't wanna talk to me and literally would tell me to leave whenever they were having a conversation, so instead I became friends with the guys. Specifically two boys who became my best friends throughout high school-- then later on the girls started saying I was leading them on and that I should just "pick one" already, as if they hadn't excluded me from the group from the beginning
The "I'm so little!" girl....ugh...I hated being around girls like that...I didnt realize at the time that my wonder woman tall and atletic curves were triggering them to point out how much more "delicate" they were. I used to fantasize about waking up as a 5 ft, 90lb, curvless fairy who could ride on guys shoulders.....haha not in the cards for me.
That's so funny because as a bi woman, even when being skinny was trendy I wasn't into the look. I used to be really muscular and not dainty my whole childhood, and I used to get embarrassed because I wasn't the thin dainty one so I get it. I have a small frame and I'm 5'4 so my muscles stood out more. I was the only girl with cut bi's/tri's and that was really the most noticeable part when comparing me to other girls 😭. Luckily, I'm an adult now and I can definitely say it gets better 😁
as a girl, i think cheerleaders are awesome. plus they usually get good grades as well and i look up to some of them. i don’t cheer, and a lot of people don’t either. i love doing taekwondo however. that’s no reason to be hateful to anyone who doesn’t have the same interests as you.
"So we're probably going to have to start pretending to like eachother now?" Why do I feel like they are going to hangout and slowly become friends, I mean it's bound to happen at some point.
@@sashaspotato1180 Actually, you’re incorrect 😐. The definition of cheerleading is “an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment”. Because side line cheerleading isn’t competitive, by definition it is not a sport.
"I can't do a sport I'm only 100 pounds" I can tell you that I know several 100-pound girl wrestlers who are all badass. You don't need to be heavy to play a sport.
Ahhh there’s actually a new breed of pick me girls. The “hey I’m straight pick me”. “ I failed this generation, I don’t smoke/vape or drink, my parents are happy and I’m not traumatized, also I’m straight asf”
Technically Cheer is a sport because the word 'Sport' is defined as followed: An activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment.
The size part brings back terrible memories of people always comparing their height to mine every girl in my age group is 5’3-5’7 I’m 5’10 and I always wish I was atleast 5’4 or 5’5 bc I hate being so tall I play basketball and stuff but I still wish I was shorter for certain things
When I was younger, I was very light and short for my age, but when I finally started gaining weight, (I was like 60 or so pounds now) this one girl kept criticizing me for gaining weight. She was around 8 inches taller than me, but she kept saying she was 40 pounds (she definitely was not) like it was something to brag about.
apparently, the girl who bullied me in elementary school became a "cassidy" pick me girl. she also says that i bullied her. i was the sweetest, most naive girl in the class
E X A C T L Y thank you. It's literally so hard being yourself when everything you do is put in a certain category of behaviors. It's frustrating. Can't people just be themselves without being labeled in a negative way..?
You don’t just sideline cheer for football, there’s also basketball and a few others that my school cheers for. And do you realize that sideline cheerleaders often have competitions? It totally counts as a sport. The definition of a sport is something that has physical activity and is played for competition. School cheer has both of those things. We also do the same stunts and stuff as comp cheerleaders, we just don’t do it to music or at a fast pace, unless we’re competing.
No one thinks the actual “pick me” girl is the one making the video? People who use that term or “that girl” seem to have a problem with anyone who is not exactly like them. Or anyone they just plain don’t like gets a label.
I hate it when people say “cheer isn’t a sport” or “cheer isn’t even that hard” like how would you feel if I told you to do a round off 5 backhand springs and finish with a back tuck
In my senior year of high school I got put into sports history class because I basically took everything else and the one class I wanted instead was full. I failed that class so hard. I did have a lot of guy friends in school and wasn’t a pick me because I honestly was incredibly shy and reserved unless I already felt comfortable. I went to a small school and they felt like brothers. They didn’t force me socially or emotionally. All of the guys in that class were not people I wanted to be around, but if they were, I could’ve learned a lot rather than info going in one ear and getting lost completely, never even making it through the other. I hated sports lol.

If you can’t even attach a name to your comment then your point will immediately mean nothing to me, but beyond that, speaking on something you clearly have no clue about loses even more of your already lacking credibility here. Sorry to say, but you haven’t made any valid points here. Only stated your objective opinion on the sport. And opinions don’t sway facts.
CHEER IS A SPORT. You cant change my mind
Edit: a lot of people in the comments are saying things along the lines of “sideline cheer isn’t a sport but competitive cheer is” and all I have to say to them is sideline cheer isn’t just waving Pom poms. The amount of coordination and practice it takes to get the cheers down alone makes it qualify as a sport. A lot of what is done in competitive cheer is also done in sideline cheer it just goes unnoticed. Your opinion is your own but do invalidate an entire sport just because of a stigma people have on it.

i dated this one guy. he had this 4'11 very underweight female friend. she kept bragging about her small size, and he also compared us. in the end, he cheated on me. with her.
this gave me so many insecurities. whenever i accept myself, i still hear their voices and how he left me for someone smaller.
you should've broken up with him when he started comparing. But atleast they found a match for each other. And whenever you think about the pick me, just remember...
she'll lose to you in a competition of looking good, being healthy, being tall , being likeable, having a good personality, not being toxic and, most importantly , a fist fight.
Competitive cheer is a sport and makeup is an art. I would say cheer in and of itself is an art as well.

The “iM sO lItTlE” brings back unwanted memories or this girl in line 3rd grade who said she was 30 pounds. She was about the same size as me, and I was NOT any where NEAR 30 pounds. She was the definition of a pick me in elementary school
30lbs are you sure??? 2 stone 🤣🤣🤣
A child bragging about how little they weigh breaks my heart
Sounds like abuse at home

The sensitive one made it her mission to make everyone look bad(so everyone didn't like her.) Then the sporty one who decided she wanted to make the quiet kids her best friends (the quiet kids being me and another girl) , she wouldn't care about anything the guys did no matter how bad it was, she would also claim to have a crush on literally everyone. She yelled a lot about the other pick me too. Essentially once I switched schools, I made it my mission to never come in contact with either, ever again.

We all should look at the positive part of our features
