As someone who's been left out many times, and was in a trio group this hurts to watch even. I remember fighting but noone took me seriously. I am so sorry, I am in a friend group with 6 people (2 of which are my sisters and 1 is me) we have been friends for so long and we treat each other equally and in a way, we all have our “favorite best friend” in the group, we all love each other and they helped me get through some tough times it makes me so sad to know that other people don’t have friends that are as good, I am so sorry and I hope you one day meet friends that you deserve

I was friends with a kid I met recently, and I introduced him to one of my old friends. They got along so we became a trio, however day by day, they forgot about me. Like I wasn’t there. This started to happen to me and another friend. My bestfriend introduced someone into the friend group and we became a trio. Although eventually me and the new person started to hangout more and he suggested we should stop hanging out with the friend that got him in the friend group because he just wasn't as cool anymore and that "we're just more close, y'know?". I'm in a trio and one is kind to me but the other one, no. The mean one always makes me the one left out and she always slaps me and sometimes punches me in the stomach, she also sometimes tells me to shut up if I'm talking to my actual kind friend. She also tries to separate us, she is showing that she likes my other friend more than me. When I tried to tell someone, she saw me and whispered in my ear "shut up" and she even lied to a teacher. She said to a teacher "yea me and my friends just joke around, we are just playing" when she literally hit me one second ago-

Honestly in my eyes the real villain is hazel. She was the one that sorta left laila out. Michaela wasnt in the position to invite layla cause they barely knew each other. It was hazel that could do something abt it. The worse part was when her party was ruined, she agreed to "ditching" michaela and go with laila when before she ignored her
I was always the one in the trio that was forgotten and left out, so watching this brings back cursed memories, but I'm glad Dhar is putting people struggling with these similar situations in a spotlight. This way more people can notice the second perspective of friendships like these.

I can relate to this. Since June 2006, my church group always excluded me in everything. I tried to talk with them and make friends with them, but the more I tried, the more they pushed me away and treated me like crap. They even put me in the corner of darkness, isolation, loneliness, and despair. Then, one Sunday afternoon at church, I was gonna confront them; I stood outside the SUNDAY SCHOOL classroom door ready to knock. And then I heard laughing and voices saying horrible things about me; "We shouldn't let her hang with us." "Yea. She will never fit in." "True dat. She's not at our level." "Haha. Me? Learn American Sign Language? Hahaha. Not on her life!" Upon hearing those, I fought back my tears from falling. I ran to ladies' bathroom, locked myself in handicap stall, and cried. Then, I waited for the bathroom to be empty, blew my nose, splashed cold water on my face, and fixed my makeup so no one would know that I've been crying. I didn't have the heart to tell the pastors, my mom, and my church group's parents about how they (my church group) have been treating me because I didn't want them to think of me as a bad person or a rat fink. Then, years later, my church group found me on Instagram and they all messaged me apologizing to me for the way they treated me. I was gonna tell them to go screw themselves, but I looked at their messages of apologies, and I saw that they really did feel guilty, and told them all that I accept their apologies and that I forgive them.

To be honest, this is so relatable. I've been in like 12 friends groups and most of them were trios. I always got left out.. Every single one, I'm in another one currently and i'm getting left out again.

It’s sad how she just left her friend after Michaela came. But it is never right to ruin a birthday party. If you feel that your friend is not spending time with you anymore, say something. I always tell others and myself, ‘if you see something, say something’. I was rude to my best friend, so she broke my friendship bracelet, and never talked again. lailas feelings were valid. she basically got taken away from her best friend. like in the birthday plan. she was trying to explain that she was having a sleepover bday party and then the other girl just starting making plans with her father and when laila was trying to explain that they were using the projected and everything. the new girl listened to her for not even 3 seconds.

This is what happened when I introduced my two best friends, when they met they got close and completely forgot about me and ignored almost everything I said and did…it went from something simple like them being in all the same classes without me to them gossiping about me and planning basically every hangout, sleepover, and event without me

This happens a lot to me when I have friends especially when your "friend" leaves you out like you never existed.

Good lesson for those in a trio friendship. If each friend is looking out for the happiness of the other friends, then there is no room for jealousy. When you are friends with someone and they are reacquainted with an old friend, be happy for them and when you are invited to be with them you should accept the invitation. If you are feeling left out, be honest but kind and tactful when you express your feelings and concerns with the goal of maintaining the friendships, not of getting your way.
I can relate to her so much, when my best friend would hangout with other friends and they laughed and looked so happy together I got jealous 😭

Me and my one best friend used to be really close together and we started growing apart last year but this year it’s completely different because all her classes are with my other friend to join their friend group and now they’re super close and I feel really excluded
I can relate my old best friend Natalya and I were besties but after summer we grew apart and out of the blue she started hanging out with my bestie and I felt so left out
