@@ericdavi1231 That's for sure! I brought my ETEC G1 lower unit into the prop shop to get a busted skeg welded up and repaired and it's been there for 3 weeks now!
If you have not already done so , always check the Fuel Pressure , The Vapor recovery tank has a fuel pressure regulator that relieves excess fuel pressure back through a fine mesh screened filter , if that filter gets plugged , the fuel pressure goes up and this can throw off your injector fuel mixture ratio , this also puts stress on the electric fuel pump within the vapor separator . the fuel pump itself also has a fine mesh strainer on its inlet that can get clogged resulting in this case low fuel pressure
I’ll look into that. The port engine does burn about a gallon more per hour than the starboard when cruising at 4,000 rpm.
Nice work! For the new injector did you need change the injector calibration values in the EMM?
I used the same injectors (just had them cleaned) and put them back in the same a spot, so no I didn’t. That’s why I numbered them with masking tape.
Hello. We changed the e tech 25 hp petrol pump. but everything works normally, the energy comes, the pump works, but the engine does not start by gurgling.. we spray the cylinders with lining spray. Hello..
Hello, how did you remove the injector head that stayed inside? The sabe thikg happened to me and I can't get it out
Kept shooting it with penetrating oil and then grabbed the trip with pliers and pulled it out. The injector was damaged and had to be rebuilt by a professional.
Good info but surely the manual has a torque schedule. Doesn't seem like you were following one
Im thinking of buying a 2012 ranger z521 with a evinrude 250HO...is 2012 a problem year for etecs,ive heard some rumors about injectors failing on 250s and evinrude having to spend lot ofmoney doing warranty repairs,,,any suggestions,,,
2012 is pre G2 engines so I don’t know anything about them. Now that Evinrude isn’t selling new outboards anymore, a lot of mechanics have moved on to other brands. It’s harder to find someone to work on your motor.

They are 2016 300 G2s. It was previously owned by a government entity so 3000 hours and no warranty. That’s why I had to do the work myself.

@@sawmaster6095 The port shift actuator stopped working so I went ahead and replaced it in both engines and the starboard engine needed a new trim pump. Other than that just normal stuff like spark plugs and water pumps. I bought the boat planning on a repower, but we’ll see how much life I can keep getting. I’ve been impressed with the fuel economy and power. Keeping my fingers crossed!
My e-tec is 150 2-stroke with one cylinder skipping. I had it to # boat repair @ tell me (when can't fix tell me its dirty gas.) Pumped gas tank

I would count every day that the G2 continues to run as a blessing and always have a plan for a repower.

I keep hearing from owners how it's a good motor then I read the thousands of complaints and wonder who is full of crap.
@@gusmclovin3275 when it runs like it should, it’s amazing. But it was an over engineered motor that didn’t get enough testing. If the boat you’re looking at is a good deal, then go ahead and buy it. But if the best thing about it is the motor, you need to walk away. I’ve posted some other videos on my channel of some of the other issues it had.
How did you remove that injector tip?
Penetrating oil and a pair of vice grips. If they get stuck like that, they’re pretty much ruined. I sent the injectors to a guy who rebuilds them. Luckily he had some extra tips from another set of injectors that he wasn’t able to repair.
Is it true that once these injectors stop working they cannot be recovered?
If they are clogged, they can be professionally cleaned. If they stop responding to electrical inputs, I don’t think they can be saved.
