The temples being sunk in is due to some muscle deterioration from lack of chewing food. When you bite down your jaw muscle actually extends up into your temples. *everyone reading this bites down* HEY IT DOES 😋
Came to the comments to say this. It’s likely muscle wasting and could be due to weight loss as well, but yeah it makes sense that it would be due to underuse of the jaw muscles.

@@ytuseracct yes it’s just like any muscle, when it’s used it will grow (to a certain limit) and when it’s unused it will waste. “Use it or lose it”

With the way you looked in the thumbnail for this Vlog (beautiful of course) and how much you are able to open your jaw when talking and smiling (nice to see you doing a lot more of that 🙂 by the way) I would say your recovery is going very well! Hope your healing continues to be easy and quick.

These vlogs have been prepping me for surgery in 6 months 😂
I had the same thing done a few years ago, 10000 percent worth it. Once recovery is over your bite will be top of line. Also any tension headaches and migraines almost completely dissappear, not sure if you had these, but I had that problem and I don't anymore. Your speech will sharpen automatically too, and you will be able to slice through food. At first it will seem like its too good to be true. Its cool seeing your progress, and as always you look great! ✌🏻

I was expecting a full video on how the jaw surgery recovery was going, but except for a couple of small comments, this was a 'preparing to move to Palm Springs' update video
I can’t believe how fast your swelling has gone down! You look great! My surgery was scheduled for the end of the month, but has now been canceled because of COVID 😢 hopefully I’ll be able to have it done soon. How is chewing now? Do you feel like you are able to chew food better than before your surgery?

I just got my jaw done and I’m 50. I wish I would have gotten it done at your age. It’s hard to get used to looking at yourself for sure in the mirror. It’s like a new you and you just pick it apart. I think you will be happy in a year once you are all healed. You look amazing. No regrets

That ramen place she mentioned is called Tatsu Ramen and it is the best!!!
Instead of carrying around all those drives you should just get a bare-bones PC and set it up as an FTP server and that way you can access all your drives from anywhere in your house over wifi. Transfers will be quick too since it's a LAN transfer so roughly 3gb per minute. Also, you can configure the drives in a RAID setup so that way your data is replicated across all drives so if one fails you'll still have all your files.

The forehead thing you noticed is probably the muscle underneath that is connected to your jaw! Since you haven't been using you jaw as extensively as before (chewing food) the muscle probably became less bulky and thus why it looks different. It will probably be uncomfortable for you but if you put ur hand there and clenched ur jaw u will feel the muscle contract.

Yogurt, mashed potatoes, mashed turnip, scrambled eggs, mashed avocado, apple sauce, rice, beans and oatmeal are all soft foods

Didn’t you mention your weight post surgery Shelby? With the diet restrictions, have you been able to maintain a healthy weight? Your Nutritionist or Doc didn’t recommend a vitamin supplement? You have great family support which helps👍🏾😀!!
It is so interesting how jaw surgery changed your snout so much. Hope you are feeling better. I tuned in, because I'm told I need jaw surgery to correct a deep bite. I declined, but am still interested in others doing it, just in case my mind changes. Bless

I just got my wisdom teeth removed on Tuesday and am currently going through the recovery phase. I can kinda understand what you're going through but definitely not to the extent of your jaw surgery as that is a harder process.
