Bison is designed to be shot with steel armor piercing ammo for counter terrorism. It’s not really designed for long prolonged shooting scenarios. Quick and fast job.
So much StA-11 SMG vibes from Killzone 2 and 3🖤. For being such weapon it was a solid choice both in the campaign and online, aaaah the memories😄 I always like their choice to use real life weapons and rework them a little bit to fit the Killzone's universe.
10:45 I think a better system would be if there were grooves along the bottom rail that the magazine hooks could slide along until it hits the pins. Then, the procedure is simply find one groove, rock it over, slide it forward, rock it up. Finding a groove is easier than finding a pin, and everything else is anchored on that.
The easiest solution are just bigger grooves and bigger more square'ish pins. So it would be easier to locate them while wearing gloves / in dark environments / while not looking
If you can get a gunsmith to do it, I can think of ways to address the two most blatant problems you complained about. Changing mags: Make a new handguard that has flares to guide that nose to its pegs. Loading bullets into mags: Make a modified front plate for that metal mag (12:05) that instead of a lock has a ratchet system (and maybe fold-out wings to give you better leverage turning it).
I have been commenting for this firearm on Brandon videos for like 3 years, on and off. Never thought GarandThumb would be the one to do it. Been loving the Bizon since I was 14 and played Syphon Filter.
I noticed the Molchat Doma hoodie there, doubt there would be a silent house with you three in it. Great video as always and a fascinating gun. I never noticed that the front of the magazine turns as you fire before.
I wish there was a civilian version of this. I really like the idea of having a compact weapon without a magazine that just sticks out, but is in fact, part of the profile of the gun.
@@Karelwolfpup oh yeah it was hard af 😂 was always fun too at the very beginning running over a Russian soldier with the car, picking up a an AK and trying to repel off the invading force solo. An exercise in frustration mostly, but fun.

Always found the gameplay in that mod rather lackluster compared to the other offerings like CS and Day of Defeat, but it did have some cool guns. Was also my introduction to the Bizon.
I seriously love the design of the Bizon and I’d love to see a western company make some. Helical mags are definitely unorthodox but IMO the ammo capacity far outweighs the cons while still allowing this thing to be super compact. Even if someone came out with a civilian model, you know for damn sure I’d SBR that thing in a heartbeat
I would actually be curious to try machining some parts to make that magazine attachment mechanism more intuitive. Rather than two tiny pegs that two tiny hooks grab maybe two ~3/8" conical holes with matching conical points on the front of the magazine so you don't have to be as accurate to line it up. It looks like the latch on the back could use some tweaking as well, even with a regular AK the magazine can fit sloppily enough that the spring loaded catch doesn't hold the magazine properly... with this thing having the front hooked in doesn't even help hold it straight when you rock the back into place. I bet a pretty simple solution could be devised for that as well to make loading a magazine less reliant on fine motor control.
Dude...that opening was amazing. The ability that firearm has to maintain its output of metallic body piercing objects is amazing. I think the rate of fire for that mag size is perfect. Not like, for example, the glock 18 spitting out all its ammo in .25 seconds. I really loke this gun. Ohhhhhhhh, the kobra, I bought one from kalinka optics about 20 years ago and, yeah, it's not good. It's great to have a russian optic on one of my AKs but I finally had to take it off for a primary arms dot. I am thinking of keeping the kobra on my saiga12 though? I think it looks pretty slick on top and accuracy past 50 yards is just not important.
There are several ways to make the magazine attachment more user friendly. A large lug on the mag that fits into a flared socket on the gun. And also a flared guide into the latch. And as far as the rotating handle on the front of the tube, it could be a folding rotating handle found on chalk-line tools.
Dude, I want to know who would win in a flintlock duel: Admin, or Mike. The idea: 1. Have ballistic gel dummies nut-to-butt with the duelists, have each duelist walk a set number of paces. 2. The duelists (which will be side-by-side) will both face outboard, and fire on said dummies. 3. May the best man win.
Considering the most awkward parts about the helical mag are the reload procedure and the bulkiness with carrying spares, I wonder if it would have been a good idea to try and design the weapon to take both the helix and a stick mag kind of like a Thompson with drums and sticks. Have the capacity of the helical mag right from the start but then the speed and ease of the sticks for the reload. But then I guess it's overcomplicating things for what is essentially just 2 mags in one. A coupler would get you similar capacity and only offer a slight hindrance by comparison.
I had the same idea seeing it. For an ordonance weapon it would be too complicated. But Tompson and PPSh did it back in the day. The amis never used drums for the military, the russian kind of loved them. But for short fire fights while doing bodyguard work, having a 64 round magazine from the start by just grabbing your weapon without anything else is nead. But there is a reason why drums never caught on.

So much StA-11 SMG vibes from Killzone 2 and 3🖤.
For being such weapon it was a solid choice both in the campaign and online, aaaah the memories😄
I always like their choice to use real life weapons and rework them a little bit to fit the Killzone's universe.

Thumbs up for the intro! ❤
Thought I'd never see one of them this casually covered in a video. wonderful
Mike’s somewhat confused delivery of ‘lemongrass July’ cracked me up for some reason 😂
No way he got his hands on a bizon and the correct dot. So elite
I have been commenting for this firearm on Brandon videos for like 3 years, on and off. Never thought GarandThumb would be the one to do it.
Been loving the Bizon since I was 14 and played Syphon Filter.
Love seeing the old heads (like me lol) all coming out of the woodwork to reference this classic game lol. Good times!
Freedom Fighters and Operation Flashpoint were my introduction to this thing. Good times.
Always liked the Calico M955A as an obscure movie gun. Both that and the Bizon have odd magazine systems.
OK, I officially need a Molchat Doma sweater
Same
In cod ghosts the nixon was my favorite rifle hands down. Nice to actually see what the real one is all about
I noticed the Molchat Doma hoodie there, doubt there would be a silent house with you three in it. Great video as always and a fascinating gun. I never noticed that the front of the magazine turns as you fire before.
Therye really good live if u get the chance to see em.
That low-key turning left Zoolander reference...absolutely brilliant! hahaha
I wish there was a civilian version of this. I really like the idea of having a compact weapon without a magazine that just sticks out, but is in fact, part of the profile of the gun.
Closest we get is the Kel-tec P50.
There's a guy by the name of FeistyCrawfish / Chitin Defense that makes kits. From his words it's about $1600 when said and done
And isn't chambered in some really weird expensive spicy 22
AR 5.7 upper
Calico, just put the proper tension on the mag spring before you put a bad review out on RUclips
I used to use the Bizon as a suppressed LMG in Operation Flashpoint: Resistance.
oh yeah, you could get one off the Spetsnatz guys if Viki bushwhacks them on the first mission
Best game of all time. I always enjoyed trying to take out the entire spetsnaz team with just the shotgun in the opening mission.
@@adamg574 can't imagine that was easy with the Koszlice being a two shot break action XD
@@Karelwolfpup oh yeah it was hard af 😂 was always fun too at the very beginning running over a Russian soldier with the car, picking up a an AK and trying to repel off the invading force solo. An exercise in frustration mostly, but fun.
@@adamg574 I remember one thing I disliked about Resistance was the looting, was just too difficult to do properly with the inventory system as it was. I mean, it was marginally faster getting your guys to pick up weapons, but jeebus...
3:46 Mmm, surprised to see Molchat Doma hoodie with cyrillics - kinda vibe
First experience with the Bizon was in the Firearms mod for Half-Life 1. It did good work.
I used to load that and run heavy armor and just spew rounds everywhere lol. Occasionally I would use the anaconda and snipe with it lol.
Holy crap dude I did not expect that thing to be so accurate😮

Finally! I've wanted to see this firearm in real action since I first saw it in Syphon Filter 😊
The bloody sound at 5:29 got me so good :D You cannot escape it
I would actually be curious to try machining some parts to make that magazine attachment mechanism more intuitive.
Ohhhhhhhh, the kobra,
I bought one from kalinka optics about 20 years ago and, yeah, it's not good. It's great to have a russian optic on one of my AKs but I finally had to take it off for a primary arms dot.
I am thinking of keeping the kobra on my saiga12 though? I think it looks pretty slick on top and accuracy past 50 yards is just not important.
Didn't expect to see Micah wearing Molchat Doma hoodie, thumbs up.
I would do anything to hang out with these guys for a day 🤣
Write a ridiculous letter about an impossible shooting feat you pulled off as a pre-meth child!
Just need to have a crazy rare firearm and get in touch with them, then maybe they can fly you over with it for a video shoot.
Anything??? 🤨🤨🤨 (Honestly, me too)
claim you can shoot a can of coke over 700yards with a .22
Claim you can hit a .22 cartridge with a can of coke at over 1000 yards.
There are several ways to make the magazine attachment more user friendly.
A large lug on the mag that fits into a flared socket on the gun.
And also a flared guide into the latch.
And as far as the rotating handle on the front of the tube, it could be a folding rotating handle found on chalk-line tools.
Cool weapon cool video thanks Mike and the guys
The G11 is probably one of the funkiest guns, I'd love to see you find one of those!

Dude, I want to know who would win in a flintlock duel: Admin, or Mike.
The idea:
1. Have ballistic gel dummies nut-to-butt with the duelists, have each duelist walk a set number of paces.
2. The duelists (which will be side-by-side) will both face outboard, and fire on said dummies.
3. May the best man win.
Absolutely awesome video, despite the corky helical mags it's still an awesome looking sub gun.
I remember the first time i used this in MW2R I thought the mag was an underslung grenade launcher.
Admin getting out of the trench and perfectly standing only to fall had me in tears
And on that day Micah learned: never meet your heroes
I'm my own hero.
I love drum mags man I don't care what anyone says, they are fucking sick
really liked you guys turning left
Idk about most popular when there are things like MP5/7 and the Uzi but it is definitely iconic.
Calico made a helical magazine fed upper for Mac lowers.
I’m glad Mike showed the happy switch on his PP.
