    Jess you did a fantastic job demonstrating. Tip--I like to use a color that's different than the GlitterFlex by a few shades so that it's easier to see where to trim. All that sparkle makes it harder to see the stitches if they're the same color. The satin stitch will cover everything. I LOVE the bag idea. Will have to make some.

    Ok, now that I finished watching the whole video, I will be waiting the one on the em1010. I can tell you that you can still float on the hoop for the em1010, I usually use instead of wonder clips, hair clips, the big ones, and work fine, OR just use tape. Also, on the vinyl, most people don't iron the the vinyl until the design is complete. You can keep working your appliqué as the thread will keep the vinyl down, and if you have a heat press just press it there, use the fabric you use on top still OR parchment paper. I do not own a heat press, but I use at the end the Cricut Easypress 2 to cover the whole design, with the parchment paper between the presser and the design and it activates the vinyl adhesive all at once.... just different ways to do it.... LOVE your easy way to explain and step by step demonstration and LOVE these design, will have to buy them....

    Hi...... I loved loved loved your tutorial of embroidering monograms on hats (em1010)... I thought this would be another em1010.... Was it because you had to float? Because either the 8-in-1 hoop, which uses a stick stabilizer and you just stick it on it, like floating.... OR the magnetic hoop master... Just wondering... I have a single-needle machine which I use for monograms or 1-color designs, but everything else goes to my multi-needle....

      So my cutter hasn't worked for awhile, which is why I just don't bother with it. It did work with jump stitches before, but honestly after it cut it would often get jammed on the next stitch.

      Don't get a Singer Futura. I had nothing but trouble with it. I now have a 12 needle, by Texmac, but that is not a beginner machine. Maybe look at a Brother. They are pretty reliable.

    • @MB-tb5qp
      @MB-tb5qp 3 года назад

      I would look at what size designs you want to use and look for a machine that has them available. So be sure to think about the things you see and love, then check out the size. It is so intimidating to know what to look for if you haven't done it before. Do you have a sewing center nearby that can let you sew on their machines before you buy? Also, maintenance nearby is good to have too. I started with a Singer Futura XL400 and it wasn't centering properly. Super frustrating but because I bought it on Amazon, I didn't have maintenance contract. Luckily, when I bought my Husqvarna Viking Topaz50, the shop sent in my Singer and fixed it without charging me! I do like my Singer too but also have a HV Ruby DeLuxe too.
      I don't know if any of this helps you but I hope so.

    I have a video request please. I notice you make a lot of totes and I would like to make some totes in various sizes. I have researched and researched and I still haven't totally figured this out. When you want a tote let's say to end up being 6 in wide by 10 inches tall, with the boxed bottom let's say a 2-in depth, How do you know what size to cut out the pattern? because from what I understand when you add the box bottom you lose some of the height and width too, but more height I think. Can you make a video on the formula for figuring all of this out and also take into account the seams. This would be so greatly appreciated.

    • @4golfing
      @4golfing 3 года назад

      2 INCH DEPTH = 2 INCH SQUARE CUTOUT. SO, 10 INCHES TALL, PLUS THE 2 INCH FOR DEPTH, PLUS THE AMOUNT OF YOUR SEAM ALLOWANCES, BOTTOM AND TOP. WIDTH - 6 inches, plus seam allowances, plus 2 inches for box bottom, therefor, 13 tall, x 9. top will change depending on how much seam allowance. try this on a cheap piece of fabric or even paper to see how it works out. good luck

    • @barbra429
      @barbra429 3 года назад

      @@4golfing When you end up with 13x9, what size seam allowances are you using for top/bottom, and sides..can you explain.

    • @4golfing
      @4golfing 3 года назад

      @@barbra429 assuming a 1/2 inch seam allowance. You could do 3/8" but deduct 1/4" from the total height. i.e. 12 3/4 instead of 13. and 8 3/4" instead of 9. Those are the sizes for cutting out. (cutting 2 - 1 front and 1 back) The best way to try is to use a cheap piece of fabric. try a pillowcase from a goodwill store and cut it up. This will give you a template for the others you want to try.

    • @barbra429
      @barbra429 3 года назад

      @@4golfing Thanks for the suggestions.
