Great video,so much helpful advice. One thing to mention is you can also try using a rolling foot. I am going to try your tips for not sticking to the bed of my machines.
This is one of the best vinyl you tubes I’ve seen very comprehensive love all the tips especially the iron bit. I’ve just subscribed i along with others enjoy the relaxed tone you use. Thank you so much from Jodie Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺
A vinyl bag is why I'm here. It broke and I wanted to know how to give it new repurpose without wrecking it or my sewing machine :D 4:11 lol was that Beavis??
You are welcome. I'm glad you found what works for your machine! Hopefully others will also see your comment and give the walking foot a try if they are having difficulties.
Hi Pat, thank you. TPU is a safer option for environmental and health purposes. It is more elastic than PVC and tends to crease less. I think that would be a great topic for a video-great idea! Glad that you found the video helpful.
I'm just beginning to sew with jelly and clear vinyl. Everything was going great until I went to box the corners and my machine refused to sew through the double layer of clear vinyl. It handled the jelly ok, but the clear TPU was horrible. My TPU was from Amazon just to test it, so I'm wondering if that makes a difference, but it looks to be a similar thickness to what you're using here. It didn't give a gauge, but says it's 0.4mm thick. It kept leaving a nest on the bobbin side no matter what I did. I changed my needle from microtex 80/12 to vinyl to leather needle. I changed my foot from Teflon to walking foot. I tried changing the tension up and down. I used some tear away stabilizer on the top and then the bottom. I changed my thread from Coats and Clark polyester to Gutterman polyester. Nothing worked. If you have any other ideas, I'd love to hear them. Thanks for the tutorial! I might make one completely out of jelly if I can't get it to work! :)
Hi Holly, how frustrating. It sounds like you are going down the checklist! Have you tried a walking foot? or maybe a thinner gauge TPU. Some sewing machines just don't like thicker substrates. I haven't tried the jelly but in watching videos it seems like it would be stickier and harder to handle than TPU. But since you haven't had issues with it I'd try a thinner TPU or a walking foot. Keep us posted so we can all learn.
Hey there. Thanks for getting in touch. I did try a walking foot also and had the same issue. I'm waiting on some different clear TPU vinyl to come and will update if that works better. :)@@LaughSewCreate
One tip would be to use a larger stitch size so the vinyl doesn’t perforate and tear apart. I don’t remember the exact stitch size.
Great tips, very helpful! I also appreciate your soothing voice and how you mix some humor in. Thank you so much, from a vinyl-sewing noobie!

How did you make your clip vinyl square please?
Oh great idea. I'll put it on the video list next!
I live in Canada and purchased vinyl at the hardware store , it comes in differant thickness.
How interesting, what a great resource!
Where is the pattern for the clear square basket with the biased edging ❓🤷🏻♀️❓
ruclips.net/video/P1t3lYdgZq8/видео.html
I am an absolute failure at bias tape.
I have to unpick frequently. It can be aggravating.
Get behind me, I was a failure at it first!
Hi there what is your problem with the bias tape hopefully we can help.
The sound effects are very annoying and not necessary
I'm sorry they bothered you.
So helpful! Thank you
