Excellent instructions!! You are great at explaining!! Thank you!! ordering soon!!! Going teach this to my 9 yr old grand daughter ! she will love it! Thank you!
Thank you for sharing your techniques on how to manage the vinyl I totally love it I understand it and I thank you for sharing with all of us that may be having problems working with it and I like the way you did for zipper tabs that makes it look beautiful❣️🧵🪡✂️💕💖💓❤️💗😍
The “Walk away….Come back later” theory comes with age. I learned to sew when I was 10, I am now 79! In my youth I pushed myself to the point I started making mistakes. Now before I frustrate myself, I set it down, shut off the machine and leave!
I just bought the mushrooms, sewing notions and coffee cups and i just love them. I can't wait to start making pouches. Those printed patterns are so cute. Thank you!!!
The knob that you are referring to on the top of your machine is not your tension dial. It is your presser foot pressure. Your thread tension is the dial on the front of your machifromwhere your thread tension disk is.
Great video!! I have the same machine and I think the thread tension is the white knob on the front with the numbers 1-4 and the top is the pressor foot tension?
My only problem was top stitching the zipper, which wasn’t horrible, but the boxed corners were a disaster. I didn’t think of trying my walking foot and finally dug out one of my Featherweights. That worked. Not sure I’ll box the corners next time. I did use all the recommended tools.
@@SewHungryHippie that wasn’t as clear thanks for explaining because most people when they say tension, think of the thread and I think of pressure with the pressure foot.
Hey Natalie, I received my TPU order today (love coffee, sugar skulls, and peace ☮️) I cut a test strip and played with tension but I’m nesting like crazy! I sew on a straight stitch PQ Brother 1500 SL with Teflon foot. Any suggestions? ❤thanks
@@SewHungryHippie Hi, yes I adjusted the tension, rethreaded my machine, I’m using Gutermann thread and changed needles. I was able to sew today and interestingly I had a better result with a leather needle. No more nesting 🪡🎉 Thanks!
My doggy Wally(10 lb ) is just a love, but when I get started on a sewing project, he sits and will stare at me to sit in big chair so he can be in my lap.
You are a great teacher.❤
Best explanation yet for making these great vinyl cases! Thanks!
Thank you so much for watching! Glad it was helpful!

Have fun!
love your sewing machine stickers & sentiment! So cool
Thank yoU!
That mushroom vinyl is adorable!
Completely new to sewing but loved your tutorial. Going on your website to purchase everything I need for this project
❤ Me encantó. Saludos de Argentina 🇦🇷
The knob that you are referring to on the top of your machine is not your tension dial. It is your presser foot pressure. Your thread tension is the dial on the front of your machifromwhere your thread tension disk is.
Yes I know, I think I call it presser foot tension. If I mispoke, oh well sorry!
Super cute pouch
Thank you! 😊

Sounds right. I never change either. 😂 When I speak of tension I am referring to foot pressure.
Hi from Chilly Chicago!
The winter is approaching quickly!!!! Not sure that I am ready!
Love these🍄🍄🍄 So cute!
Thank you! 😊
Great tutorial Natalie👍😘
Thank you! 🤗
I wasn't using 3.5 stitch length. I think that will help me a lot
So happy you joined us! I hope this helps!
I’m new at this and maybe I missed it …what do you use the Goddess Sheet for and how do you use it?
It's a Teflon pressing sheet. :) I use these for bag making when working with vinyl.
@@SewHungryHippie Thank you!
Hi from Florida
Hello Florida! Thank you for watching!
If you heat your pressing mat with your iron and sit the vinyl on top it warms it enough to turn easier.
I don't have trouble turning vinyl. ;)
Have you ever mixed jelly and the clear vinyl. Exp: jelly on the ends and vinyl in the middle.
Personally I haven't, but you absolutely can.
My only problem was top stitching the zipper, which wasn’t horrible, but the boxed corners were a disaster. I didn’t think of trying my walking foot and finally dug out one of my Featherweights. That worked. Not sure I’ll box the corners next time. I did use all the recommended tools.
You can trim the foam back if it’s too thick for your machine.
Thanks Natalie💚💖❤️
Thank you so much for watching!
Awesome tutorial. Thanks.

Hello from Ky
Hello there! Thank you for joining us!
What’s the trick to boxing corners with vinyl. It’s the only problem I’ve had so far.
Nice video thank you
So nice of you! Thank you for joining us!
Hello from rainy England! Can you tell me please what zipper jig you used? Thanks for your very informative video. Lx
Hello and thank you for joining us! You can find the amazingly useful zipper jig by visiting: sewhungryhippie.com/products/zipper-jig
Please let me know what you used to help put the zipper head onto the zipper tape.
A zipper jig! We have them here: pxlxy0okidjkmaiq-1594425421.shopifypreview.com/products/zipper-jig?_pos=1&_sid=d61db9392&_ss=r
Does the By Annie tape washaway? Can you see it when sewing with it on the zipper with the TPU?
I don’t see it at all- maybe it could show up on a black tape? I’ll try it
I’m confused. I thought the small dial is tension as the thread goes through the tension disc there. The top dial is the presser foot.
I am talking about adjusting foot pressure tension- I don't adjust thread tension ever, like ever.....
@@SewHungryHippie that wasn’t as clear thanks for explaining because most people when they say tension, think of the thread and I think of pressure with the pressure foot.
That is so so cute! I love how quick it comes together.. I am glad your video popped up in my feed!!
Thank you! 😊 Welcome to Sew Hungry Hippie!!!! Happy you found us!
Absolutely amazing!! What is that vinyl called again?
Thank you ! it is TPU! You can find it on my website by visiting: sewhungryhippie.com/collections/transparent-vinyl

Yes, have you adjusted the foot pressure tension? Have you rethreaded? Are you using Gutermann thread? Microtex needle?
@@SewHungryHippie Hi, yes I adjusted the tension, rethreaded my machine, I’m using Gutermann thread and changed needles. I was able to sew today and interestingly I had a better result with a leather needle. No more nesting 🪡🎉 Thanks!
So you are talking about Foot Pressure? I thought tension was the rotary dial in the thread path.
Foot pressure yes. It’s the top knob in my Juki
That's exactly what I was saying. That's not the tension it's foot pressure.
Hi everyone
My doggy Wally(10 lb ) is just a love, but when I get started on a sewing project, he sits and will stare at me to sit in big chair so he can be in my lap.
What does TPU stand for?
Hello! Great question! It is Thermoplastic polyurethane.
Hi
Is that your presser foot tension or your thread tension?
Presser foot tension
Hello, zipper tabs 😂❤
Bye.
Thank you for joining us Clovis!
What is TPU ? Duh!
Hi Elizabeth, it is Thermoplastic Polyurethane! I didn't even try to say it 3 times fast!
Awesome instructions 😊
