G'day from Australia 🇦🇺. Yes, the camera isn't as important as the storyline if you're making short films. For vlogs, having good things to talk about is more important. RUclips is a long game. Learn and improve as you go.
Thank you, I needed to hear this. It's crazy expensive to get the "right" gear only to be creative and make content. We don't need that when we're just starting out! I've already met so many amazing people on RUclips and I don't own a camera, I film everything on my iphone and with editing software you can make it look better, I'ma still learning so I son't change a lot of things but I've experimented a little bit. i think it looks best without color grading when you're just talking or making a vlog. Let's be creative and connect new RUclipsrs!
Exactly! Even with your phone you can get such great shots nowadays! Plus a lot of people are watching on their phones so resolution doesn't matter as much as the storytelling anyways. Keep it up!! :)
Thanks for the sound advice! I have been pricing cameras, and wondering whether an entry level model would be a good idea. I think for now, I will continue with my Moto Android phone.
Yes! I'm recording with my iphone 14 pro right now and would probably get a mic first and then into all the camera stuff once I'm monetized. :) Keep it up!!
About audio: I make vlogs walking on the beach, waves crashing making tremendous noise, only use mic of my iPhone. But in Capcut you can isolate and enhance sound of voice. No sound of waves, voice only, like using external mic!
I use the Premiere Pro sound AI which helps but in that video it was too many different background noises (wind, plane, roof fans). So maybe that was my sign to get an external mic if I want to continue recording outside 🫣. I would also love to record from a bigger distance so that would only work with a mic.
Sorry about the audio :') NYC outside isn't easy on me without a mic.
Thanks for sharing

Exactly! Had to learn it this way :D
@@arcanecoral just keep moving forward and do what you can.
ZVE-10 looks amazing but honestly 100% agree that a phone is way more than enough!
