i thought it was reminiscent to a scene in Starship Troopers where a dead flying bug kills a guy with its momentum.
😮
No because helldivers have more health than that if they can survive a live shrieker flying at them with their momentum
This is probably exactly what they are trying to emulate lol
@@tripslord9029 They really don't. Every Helldiver was trained for like, a day, tops.
@@xXFuzzeeXxthere's no way they can operate all that military equipment with a days training
Also, in case people didn't know, Shrieker's nests can also be taken out at range like Spore Spewers. I used an Autocannon to snipe two quite a distance away from my team.
How many shots did it take?
@@teapouter6109 I think about a full magazine to take down with autocannon can't recall how many shots since I was busy running for my life and reloading since I was already half a clip when I was first trying to shoot it down.
Is it just me or is anyone else disconnecting when it’s close to extract? Happened to me twice now and it kills the mood every time
Great, another one shot mechanic…
You should try helldivers 1
Well the reason why it's one shot is because they are targeting your head so be careful.
Gonna cry?
Lesson 1 of being a helldiver. Death, dismemberment, and/or injury can be sudden.
@@Deadspace251I know, but this is why a helmet should provide armor like the rest of the armor. It's weird that armor only protects from toes to shoulders, but helmet is just cosmetic? Because of this many enemies one tap you
Always remember what Mr. Piccolo taught you;
*DODGE.*
Still working on that

Try dodging 7 hunters or stalkers. Plus the dodging is sluggish and basically goes to crouch mode after.

btw there nests arent like spore spewers, u need to hit them a fair few times with a EAT or recoilless, best to use a mech or throw down some aistrikes or a hellbomb that the game lets u use
120 he barrage is good too because of their wide tops they catch them pretty easily

so far the piss laserzooka is the best way of dealing with these guys imo highly recommend it

I find great success with the arc thrower (and las sickle)
@@captain_fisher_price oh idk I just heard someone call it pisslaser one time and it made me blow air out my nose really fast
Las cannon supremacy
Piss Laserzooka is my new go to term for the Laser Cannon, was already calling it the Piss Beam
Little thing I found for the Shriekers, from my experience the Breaker Incendiary kills them in DROVES. They have very very very little health in order for them to compensate for their agility and flight, but the Breaker Incendiary has so much spread that it effectively covers a massive path, guaranteeing a hit, and the flame nearly guarantees a kill due to their small health pool. I was just running the Breaker Incendiary for a bit of a change-up from some other guns and I was able to solo Shrieker nests with ease.
You can also usually body them well before they can drop down on you which sort of mitigates this issue a bit more (not entirely cause I've still died to this like 4-5 times)
Yeah fire breaker is one of the best weapons against them i feel. Huge amounts of ammo and they only take a few pellets to die.
Was about to comment the same, plus gatling sentry really shines
Downside is that it is basically useless against other enemies.
The fire breaker can also clear off hunter swarms before they alert. So thats 2 of the most annoying bug enemy types out of the picture. Assuming you aren't soloing that's a decent trade off.
dumped almost all my autocannon ammo but i managed to destroy all the 3 mushrooms from very far
So like about 20 shots per nest? Not bad honestly. Considering how cheap resupplies are it already feels like cheating when you can destroy a spore spewer from across the map in 2 lol. Autocannon stays winning
@@yungturkishman4211 Autocannon my beloved 🙏
@@yungturkishman4211 its only 9 shots per nest
I had heard that the nests were not able to be harmed by autocannon fire. I even went on a full hunt for these nests yesterday to get as much information as I could gleam. I learned that the laser cannon is extremely good for taking care of the shriekers, and can even take out the nests themselves. The 120 and 380 barrages work, but are unreliable due to their spread. Recoiless takes 2 shots per tree of the nest, and if you have a buddy system going, is one of the safest ways of dealing with it.
Mech MG is beautiful for taking out the shriekers as well, but not the missiles against the trees. Eagle Airstrike and 500kg are... Horribly inefficient. Someone who had tested it, said that it took two air strikes to take out one nest, and a 500kg was only able to take out another one. Laser orbital, however, is amazing against shrieker nests.
I'm still however, doing more research to spread information. These buggers are a side objective, like Stalkers are, for a reason, they are deadly, and you should put aside any and all objectives to deal with these bastards asap.
Always remember the 5 Ds
Dodge
Duck
Dip
Dive
And...Dodge
If you can dodge a monkey wrench, then you can dodge a flying bug.
I'm pretty sure the last one is 'Die'
Alternatively one can:
Shoot
Stab
uhhh
.......
Actually listen to OP, adapting to the terrain and enemy strength is really important.

Please neve change the format of your videos. Quick and to the point, no bullshit fluff that other youtubers add on that give no value. Thank you for service helldiver.
Shriekers made me question: what was the purpose of NPCs capable of headshotting players?
Shriekers currently don't make any sound when they're attacking, just like those spewers, and they also tend to one shot you as they tend to hit your head.
And the ways to prevent headshots when you're fighting bug and automatons?
Not getting hit at all, which is usually impossible.
Or pray that the hunters or whatever that's about to hit you don't hit your head hitbox.
Oh right, and the shield. You thought they want to lessen the shields impact to the game, instead they keep this mechanic in the game along with the slow debuffs.
You can have 0-3 deaths in one game and 5-8 deaths in another without shield because you're unlucky (got headshotted).
Can't say I liked bringing shield every game to avoid getting headshotted.
I do think shriekers can keep their oneshot attack(excluding ragdoll kill), just for the love of god, give them some sound.
I was expecting the flyers to slice off our heads.
Like Starship troopers.
But this is okay too.
I assume that's what happened to me the first time I encountered them. They swooped in and killed me in one hit.
Oh they do lmfao.
The first time I fought them I got instantly decapitated.
Arrowhead has to take a look at the ragdoll impact physics
I understand why I get one shot by a dying bile titan (sometimes), but this is a little ridiculous. I wish in this case, and in the case of dead bile titans that the amount of damage was based on velocity. I realize that would be more complicated, but it would make a lot more sense.
nah watch starship troopers and see why they've done this
Another feature implemented without being properly tested. What a shocking turn of events.
Hopefully the head of product testing is hard at work making spreadsheets about the issue as we speak.
@@anon4854 its on purpose, its a starship troopers thing, which is like the prime inspiration for the game half the time it feels
@@Jacoob793 brainlet sweatard.
@@teenyand7577 (X) Doubt
It's a cool reference but it's a bad gameplay feature. Which still means they didnt properly test it.
Of all the thing sin the game they've decided to give THEM a ragdoll hitbox. They really should think about playtesting their patches first before making them available for the public.
So you cant kill them while youre attacking them, but it's also hard to hit them when theyre not attacking you. Theyre faster than a charge and can 1 hit you when a charger cannot. Super sick kanye
I have never so angered by an npc enemy, since Halo 2 legendary
what about rocket devastators, they're my equivalent of H2 legendary jackal snipers, especially in a foggy planet.
I feel you, brother
Electric guns crashing me and my friends game. lul
Yeah it was with a steamer friend of mine and we did some pretty extensive testing to replicate the crash successfully and it seems like if the arc weapon chains to 3 or more enemies, it will crash the game.
lol im in my ship navigating the mission terminal and it still crashing..
Well that sucks. Have you sent crash reports to the devs? They can be really helpful!
Hahah theyre a bit like the bots jetpack trooper then, dont kill those guys while they're near you / jumping onto you!
Oh that's why I thought they Kamikaze-ing you
I think with the size of them it’s a bit silly for that to kill you, knock you over and hurt you would make more sense.
Too many things in the game 1hko you now so getting 1hko for successfully killing an enemy on top of everything else is not fun
As annoying as it is I think it makes a lot of sense for them to kill you like that
yea, I like how a falling bile titan can still squish you after it died bc momentum an stuff
Not really though. Flying animals tend to be really light. I have a hard time believing that a 60 lb bird thing would cause fatally instant injuries.
@@HaloDude557brother. Do these ******* small human sized, chiton plated, fast, abominations look like or as light as a bird? Their wings are more draconic than a bird. I’d bet 5 random human lives that if you shoot a pterodactyl flying into you, you will die or get severely damaged.

I get the feeling turrets are gonna be more useful now
don't forget your guard dogs!
I started packing Minigun turret when going against bugs after the first time we had two shrieker nests. Ate half our reinforcements the first time.
The laser cannon works wonders on these stupid bugs
underrated choice
AH: we will let players do the play test for us and come up with fixes and changes later, WE ARE GENUISES!
no seriously while that is nice and all but imagine giving enemies with wonky hitboxes going rampage for a week before they completely change and rework.
It would be cool and funny if Shireker can pick up player and drop them from extreme hights to hurt you, strand you someplace random, or drop you in-between a enemy swarm.
Its so silly... their intentional attack will deal normal damage, but their lifeless corpse oopsie daysing on you is lethal?
another shit mab that can 1 shot you but we stil have like 3 weapons that are good, those devs are seomething else why cant they buff all weapons tobe viable imagine being able to kill trash mobs in 1 shot
The gatling gun sentry is actually a pretty good counter. Also it looks good as a CIWS. If you have the (increase turret upgrade) it actually can track those flying bugs very well. It might not be the most ammo efficient thing out there but it is another gun constantly firing. Next I will try the tesla tower because bug zapper funny. Maybe if super earth install UV lights near it would work even better!
I thought this was a Spookston video for a second
Just use the Orbital Laser to destroy all the 3 nests.
I love that their limp bodies take you out. It's so funning to be 'saving' a friend from a dive, only to have the falling body take them out.
plus, the arc doesn't seem to target them very well or chain them. its also crashes the game
There's a arc bug currently that crashes the game for many people

Makes me wonder if the devs even play tested these things before throwing them in.
“Hey have you noticed that this bird-bug insta-kills you *after* you kill it?”
“Ahh, I’m sure it’ll be fine. Launch the update.”
No, we are the playtesters
This man right here officer. Looks like your going to the creek.
Nevermind, i take it back, they seem like a right nuisance lmao. A force to be reckoned with.

Timmy: Fᴏʀ ʟᴏᴠᴇ ᴏғ ʟɪʙᴇʀᴛʏ!!!! ʜᴇʟᴘ ᴍᴇ!!! "Gets taken away to become termanid snack"
I am pretty sure the Devs made the Shriekers to dive and damage the players, but they forget to set the damage tick to like once every dive, leading to multiple damage tick if the Shriekers collided or touches the player. This result in 1 shot kill. I am a Game Design student onc i understand this kind of shit :D
Guys, hell has come and we're knee deep in it. Lets show them how democracy works!
easy way to avoid them is to duck whenever they're lunging at you
StandardAce, if you go prone they won't hit you. Probably the biggest tip to know if you're getting swarmed by them.
Damn iv only been in one mission with the flying bugs so far and I didn't even see them because a team mate on the other side of the map was fighting them.
Dead shireker body is more dangerous than the live one :P
Ya this has to be unintended. Its crazy that they would do MORE damage after dead.
Dodge duck dip dive and dodge again!!
Shooting their wings off also kills their momentum, and for some reason the spear can lock them. Ive yet to hit one with the spear though.
if you use a gatling sentry it looks like a C-RAM opening up on them
Las scythe and Laser cannon literally tear shriekers apart in the air. Aim for centre mass and hold there until they start to spiral.
Also the breaker spray 'n' pray is literally loaded with bird shot 🤣Have a go with that too.
If you can dodge a Shrieker, you can dodge a ball!
They also one shot mechs (at least on my experience).
I'd like to play right now but they broke all the arc shit after they release more arc shit, makes sense
If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a shrieker!
So they were designed to give the player one last middle finger if the player shoots them out of the sky at the right (wrong) time. These things really did fly straight out of hell.
Borderlands players: Rakk PTSD
Its kinda funny that the shriekers are more dangerous when theyre dead
Go prone, they can't touch you.
so this is an actual mechanic...
Shriekers? More like kamikaze
AA stratagems coming?
Name of the song???? Ty
Truly embraced the starship troopers scene where the kill the flying bug and it lands and kills the crazed survivor of the camp.
Speaking of Helldiver PSA's. Have you tried the arc thrower against the charger changes? It seems to kill them with around 8 shots to the head now.
Good content
more reasons to use the shield, cool
you get one shot even with shield
All your videos are straight to the point and very useful. Thank you for not wasting my time with a 10 minute clip like some others lmao.
Has there been any word of a 3rd enemy type/species being added anytime soon? It's been my only big disappointment with the game since I started playing
Yeah, the Iluminate.
Their files have already been leaked so you can check out some of their models.
This is one of the bugs that i DO NOT want to face on a Helldive dificulty, bc they dont stop spawning... From the first mission i faced them went straight to use the auto cannon and snipe the nests before geting close. Full clip to kill 1 nest but is worth it
Kind of disappointing that there's already a glaring issue with their corpses being more dangerous. But I am a patient man.
Pretty cool but I wish they looked more like scarabs from Starship troopers
It would be so cool if the one hit kill animation decapitated you, like in starship troopers
It does if it hits your head
WOW, think of all the new ones we will be getting

Thank you for the video! Do you have any plans to do longer-form stuff or are you sticking to short informative and funny stuff like your halo content?
30 seconds, no bs. I love his info videos.
I tried dodging, and then I fired my auto cannon and another one blocked the shot and I killed myself
The airborne equivalent of a bug crawling out of a nest and kicking your grenade back in your face.
If your completely prone, the shriekers can't do damage
As opposed to mostly prone?
I honestly don't think it should be changed with the nature of HD2. Shoot at them during their dive, and dive to the side. Like a charger or bile spewer about to hit you. Don't see why this is any different. A little unfair but all the corpses can kill you in this game. A bile titan falling on you kills you too, so I'd imagine a corpse of a giant bug bigger than you would kill you if it smashed into you at 20MPH. A little unfair and realism that errs on the side of making the experience worse, but I think it fits with the feel of the game. It's not like they're a common enemy, they're an objective enemy.
I kinda like they oneshot you like that IF you kill them. They expose themselves during the dive, but for you to exploit this is extremely dangerous. If you tank that attack you'll lose 30-70% hp. This adds a skill to killing them where you need to first focus on evading and then catching them while they ascend. Today I fought them for the first time and within a minute found out you can easily run to the side perpendicular to their dive in order to not get hit.
shriekers have made autocannon and recoiless rifle significantly stronger as those weapons can snipe the nest across the map and have no bullet drop.
Recoiless actually does have a bit :p
Does Recoiless / EAT one-shot a nest?
@@Adeon55 yes it does :D
they probably need to increase respawn amount for helldivers?
As someone else pointed out, I think it’s a starship troopers reference, and I kinda hope they don’t change it as I find it hilarious whenever it happens.
The one at 0:13 barely touched you at low speed but instakilled you anyway, so they have bile spewers and now this cancer, I don't know what idiot thought this was release ready but I'm not wasting my very limited time with this game until they fix this shit.
Please leave and dont play. You're a toxic trend follower, dont need you.
Them killing you by hitting you is likely a starship troopers reference.
Not very democracy of you brother
@@stevenwoodbury4227 Well I'm leaving the game until they remove the damn reference. I'm not a teenager with tons of free time anymore.
