In this video, I create 3 semi-handmade Christmas decorations using miniatures and Dollar Tree materials. I show how to make a simple bow that comes together very quickly using hot glue. I also made DIY faux snow. You can use the miniatures I create in the video in your dollhouse or as Christmas decor for your full size house.
Happy Holidays 🎄

I have lots of projects planned ranging from scratch building, abandoned miniatures and Dollhouse Miniatures in multiple scales. I also have a large Harry Potter build planned for 1" scale.

Love out of the ordinary christmas decorations like this, still christmas themed but not your usual baubles and tinsel.
Same here! They're so charming. I gave the truck away as a gift and it was well-received.
I love these ideas. The snow on the truck was a little heavy-handed for my taste, but then, I live in Florida! 😊
That's hilarious! I like most of the snow but I wish I hadn't caked the tree in snow. I should've done it more like the flocked tree in the jar. The wreath on the grille makes me 😁 though
You work very hard with the crafts and videos. Know that you ARE appreciated. 🎄
Thank you so much!
I really like the results. Thank you!
You're welcome :) This was fun and easy.
Loved watching you work. Just beautiful.
Thank you so much!
“I’m at the point in my miniature journey where I have a plastic organizer full of garbage”😂 Same
It's the only way to live 😁
Yes, relate 😂
Perfectly describes my entire craft room lol
Absolutely adorable Christmas miniatures, love them, tfs x Julie 🇬🇧
Thank you 🎁
"I have a plastic organizer filled with garbage"--This kills me! I too, have one of those organizers. I got a knife set for Christmas and am trying to figure out what I can make from the little tip protector that came with them. 😂
You people are my tribe! You get me. I have spent hours organizing the trash and beads and bits and bobs I've collected. I actually have two plastic organizers with tiny plastic paint pots inside them to organize the little bits. The trash collection is by far the most organized thing in my studio.
@@queencityminis I got an old shoe cubby off Marketplace and a bunch of long skinny baskets from the dollar tree. I managed to organize most of my supplies and tools in it. I have quite a bit of dollhouse building supplies, but I must say I have an embarrassingly large cache of fabric. It’s nicely organized too!
You can make anything cute can't you?!? Have a very Happy Christmas!
Thank you :) Merry Christmas
Wonderful video. Thank you. Happy holidays to you.
Thank you :) You too
Great ideas!...I love these🥰...Happy Holiday's to you and your Family!🎄🎁
Thank you 😊 You too!
Shyra, you can use a fork’s tines to hold the hot-glued items so your fingers won’t get burnt.
Thank you! That's a good tip
Just lovely. The snow on the truck was the touch that was needed to make it so realistic. Thank you for sharing your wonderful ideas. Have a very merry Christmas.
Thank you very much :) I love the truck makeover. I forgot to mention in the video I paid $2.19 for it. Such a great deal.
OMG - I just got two of those hanging jar type ornaments so I can make a scene inside. I also picked up the styrofoam balls (tho mine are silver). I also got lots of ornaments and made a tree almost entirely out of Dollar Tree things. Don't you just love Dollar Tree??? Both projects came out really cute ~ I especially love the truck. Happy holidays to you!!
I almost bought the silver styrofoam balls when I saw them this year but I think I already have a lifetime supply 😆 I can just paint my gold ones if I really ever want a different color. I'm thinking of painting some of them orange. I think they could make convincing mandarin oranges bc of their size and texture.
I do love the Dollar Tree but I've watched some RUclips videos recently of others crafting DIY Christmas decor and I have Dollar Tree envy. My local stores are apparently tiny.
@@queencityminis Oh no! I'm lucky to have several really well stocked stores. And the people who work there are super nice. I made the mistake of going into a couple other "dollar" chains ~ they should be ashamed to call themselves "dollar" anything because everything is so expensive! I hadn't really used the dollar store much, but this year I have been going there a lot. Probably bc of all of the cool things I see on youtube :)
Great ideas. The wreath ornament is so cute!
Thank you! I love the bow and the trailing ribbons. So cute
This turned out great. I am going to try to find this truck at Kohls because my MIL loves the red truck/tree aesthetic and it would make a great gift for her.
I didn't get to film my ETM haul because we have no power and no ETA for restoration:/
I think there were two when I got mine. I bought it at the Bedford Kohl's. It was 60% off plus I had a 20% coupon.
Oh no! That stinks. The weather has been ridiculous. The wind tore siding off our house.
@Queen City Minis yikes! We are about to lose all our food in the fridge and freezer. Maybe our pipes too if the power doesn't come back on soon.
I actually live in Southern maine and the closest Kohls is in Biddeford.
Love what you did to the dollar tree bottle. I bought a couple of them too had the same idea. I hope mine come out a lovely as yours. The mini bow is so adorable. 🎄Merry Christmas 🎅🏽
That's awesome! They're already so cute as it but they look extra cute with just a couple simple touches. Make sure you shove the cork in as tight as possible bc mine went flying off when I was shaking it to reposition the contents.
Really cute decoration and love the bow tutorial!😊❤
Thank you :)
Love It!! 💝💖 Great bow technique! Was that a Christmas Pickle in the tree? 😁 Merry Christmas Shyra to you and your loved ones🎄🎁
Hahaha I was wondering if anyone would notice it! It's actually Pickle Rick from Rick N Morty. I made it myself out of polymer clay about 3 years ago. It's extra funny since there's a German tradition of hanging a pickle on a tree.
I’m searching for bottles or ornaments to use for mini scenes. Did you find yours all a the dollar store?
Hi! I bought the glass jar and ornament jar at the Dollar Tree. I got the truck at Kohl's, if memory serves me well. The Dollar Tree also sells miniature jars that are 1" tall, and some 2" tall.
My hot glue sets up too fast and leaves a mess. What am I doing wrong? Wrong glue, too much? Please help me!😩
Maybe the temp is too low so the glue isn't hot enough and cools too quickly
@@queencityminis Thanks, I will definitely check on that.
Ha, ha. I clicked on the link to BHM's video, expecting a bow tutorial...🙈
😆 oops! Did you learn something about the Shining instead?
@@queencityminis I still prefer the book. I thought that the finished diorama captured the feeling of it more than the movie!
"Craft-astrophes" 😂😂😂
Oh my. I don't remember saying that, but it sounds like me 😆
Have your poor fingers become 'hot glue proof' by now? 🥴😊
I thought so, but I've been burned recently so apparently not! 😆
