Chain Saw HACK 6 - Earth Auger

- The tool works famously. The holes about diamater 20 cm/8 inch don't pose any problem. This device has a lot of power to make hole about 25 cm/ 10 inch or even 30 cm/ 12 inch.
This project involved some work but the effect is better than we assumed. One thing which I should make is the extension of the drill so as to have the opportunity to drill deepest holes than 80 cm/ 32 inch.
The tools I use in this video:
Self made:
Circular saw stand - • Change CIRCULAR SAW to...
Belt grinder 2x48 - • DIY Belt Grinder 2x48"...
Vise - • Super Strong Hydraulic...
and
Circular saw EVOLUTION EVOSAW230

Two things.
1. I read all comments but unfortunately I don't have time to answer for all of them ;/ Thanks for all kind words. It means a lot for me!
If you have some question, please check video description. Maybe there you can find what are you looking for :)
2. There is a lot of question like this "Is that Alex Steel on the phone?" Yes, I watch Alex Steele and I really like his videos. :)
Very well!
It would be great if you could do EVERYTHING with ONE device and just change the essay.
For example, if you were to build the chainsaw then adapters for say Belt sander, flex and much more to use, that would be great!
Second thing solved all my questions
Could you tell us what model of lathe is this?
Made in Poland

As a machinist for 25 plus years it is rare for me to learn something new. But here I did. I never thought of broaching a keyway on the lathe. Impressive. Pay attention youngsters it's skills like this that can get your butt out of almost any kind of jam if Pooh hits the fan. Salute!
As a retired tool and die guy, I can appreciate the craftsmanship you put into this thing! Awesome job!
Pomijając pomysł i dokładność wykonania, posiadasz fantastyczny zestaw narzędzi na wyposażeniu warsztatu!!!!

I see all the comments about it's easier to go but one or cheaper. Well it's not always and cheaper or easier. Sometimes it's about using your skills and knowledge to create something and being able to say that you made it. And the fact that he made this makes it more valuable than any store bought piece. Keep making as long as you can!!!
It's always a pleasure watching you create, even if causes a little jealousy over your workshop. Floor space, for starters.
Another creative and outstanding hack! I especially like the spray paint pattern, I will definitely add that to my methods of pattern making.
What I like the most about this video is the simplicity and the fact that all these tolls which he used are reachable in every average house :).
I tip my hat off to this guy is awesome and doesn’t even wear gloves. Thanks for sharing 😇😇
Another nice project. Well Done!

You are really clever guy. Thanks

This is the second video of yours I've watched and you are very smart. Awesome builds, engineerings and craftsmanship. Hands down you are one of the most professional craftsman with outstanding re-purpose ideas out there today.
Excellent. I really enjoyed this. No BS, just how to make it happen. Thank you.
SIMPLY BRILLIANT. An excellent idea. The outcome was flawless with the fabricating of the planer blades as cutters. That's thinking outside of the box.
I'm impressed! Wow!

The way you used your lathe as a keyway cutter was impressive. I worked for GM so I was able to just go to the crib and get whatever size keyway cutter I needed. Necessity is the mother of invention! Very impressed!!!
Never would have thought it man. Awesome.
All hail This guy
You should be canonized

Super cool man, now you can dig your way down to Australia for the winter! =D
That was really interesting to watch and learn...well done!

Great video. Although, I couldn’t help thinking, “...and that’s how with only $10,000 worth of equipment, you can make a $350 machine for $250.” Seriously awesome video anyway. I loved watching it
An quite good quality "intense hobbist" MiG welder + all attachments cost around 400 USD, The rest is also cheaper than u would think
You think that's all he builds. Pretty sure he works/plays out there every chance he gets. Big boy play ground.
Its not about the cost of tools. Its having the right equipment to enable his creativity and mechanical mind to make interesting things. Anyone can buy a power auger. Only the special ones can make their own.
Thank You. Nice build, very useful tool for me.. Must dig out a basement. Already have an electric chain saw and shade tree fabricator down the street. Nice work + nice film . Thank You
Yeah this is for the guys that own every tool possible that's out there to do that kind of work
This is called reinvention. Genious. 👍
I wish I had thisguys skills man. This is awesome.
Love the compost! Nice & Soft....
Very nice! There is several good ideas we can use in different projects. Of course there will be Americans questioning why not just go and rent it in Home Depot
I love this!!
Al I need is the lathe. I really like your bench vice by the way
That's the softest, rock-free dirt I've ever seen. Nice work though.
Yep he'd play hell drilling here. All that work for a weak ass gopher hole punch. I admire the thought and work. I can't do as much as I use to plus health issues so I can't say anything because I took a walk behind troy built tiller and made a hydraulic shaft for my auger.
amazing as always, and that hydraulic vise is one of the best and most useful tools i`ve seen in a while. one thing tho, you shouldnt use the lathe to carve the key slot like that, you`re putting to much pressure on the brass nut that moves it and it will wear out or break in no time.
an easier way to do it is to put a milling tool on the headstock and hold the piece on the tool holder, that way is much faster and it wont damage your lathe :D
It's fine to do.
