I had a lot of old pipes and rebar to cut up and from what I read ruclips.net/user/postUgkxPDBfLu68o58Aw85O_J-zIFfjJARBhp-3 this would be the tool for the job. Since I had never used one, I watched a couple of youtube videos and I'm so glad I did. Some really good safety tips, which I followed, and this tool did a splendid job. One good thing to know is the weight of the tool puts just about the right amount of pressure on the metal I was cutting, so I didn't have to use a lot of pressure, which is more likely to jam the tool. It made fast work of my job.

I thought this is a presentation of adapters, and although there are some, they are still not suitable for angle grinder. So as these my theoretically look appealing, they are deadly (and ruining your grinder). The cause is the speed of rotation - smaller the grinder, higher the speed in general. Smaller grinders have around 10000 RPM (and your drill has 0-1000, in second gear 0-3000 approx.) So it's a 10x difference. Which means most of used tools on it will loose their efficiency and overheat instantly. Sanding paper will just fill up with debris and burn. Drillbits will become dull.
I wrote deadly and I mean it. Forces become huge with such high RPM (this is the reason, why standard angle grinder disc, which is neither sharp nor rugged, cuts through steel like butter). Longer shafts are especially dangerous, and if you chuck in your tool off center or it is bent, you are begging for catastrophy.
I experienced it with my dremel tool, which has a max RPM even higher - i used a sllightly bent disc adapter. When I turned on the machine, the dapter head bent fully almost instantly, then broke off and flew away as from some slingshot. There were no people in the trajectory luckily.
So, well, don't do it (except if you are on deserted island or similar, but then it would make sense to open the grinder and rework gear ratios)

A drill chuck is a horrible attachment for an angle grinder. The grinder spins at 10000+ RPM a drill bit is designed for a drill or drill press which spin at most 2000 RPM. Higher rotation speed will heat up and dull the drill bit much faster, plus if it wasn't fastened properly, you just created a deadly projectile.

As a welder and a pipe fitter I have worked with various types of grinders virtually all my life. Now while these items may all appear to be innovative and inexpensive using a grinder as a power source, if it is such a great idea, then why are the grinder manufacturers not offering them? Because they don't really work all that well and in many cases are downright dangerous. One thing I have learned over the years is either purchase or rent the tool that you require for the job at hand. Improvised tooling is seldom if ever effective and in many cases will destroy either you or what you are working on. For example, would you use a grinder to sand your car down for painting? Only if you were a fool. Instead, you would access a DA type sander and go at it. The right tool for the job unless you like fixing a lot of damage that could have been avoided had you had the right tool............. Most of this stuff is junk normally sold via infomercials on late night TV to those with too little money and too little brains.

You’d need an unit with a speed control to very low rotation or an external voltage regulator. Indicating to the public that any grinder may work with these nits is quite misleading and very irresponsible.
The fixed speed grinders have their rated speed at around 10000rpm. Even with a 10 to 1 gear in these attachments, it’s too fast for those applications.
Although you can find a variable speed one with low end speed of 3~4000, they may still be too fast.

A belt sander at 10000 rpm is too fast. You'll blow apart the belt in a very short amount of time and potentially injure yourself. Also at that speed you'll end up taking too much material off, it wouldn't be practical. Grinders are a tool you don't screw with and far too often you see guys using them dangerously. In my opinion this video should be taken down as everything on here has potential to seriously Injure people.

Too fast for a drill. You don't want your drills to get hot enough where they discolor like the one in your demo. The other ideas were ok though if that's all you got. But I would guess those attachments are nearly as costly as the regular version of the tool it's trying to be.

Probably. I was using one yesterday, same thing.
About 2 weeks ago I spent 3-4 days researching a cheap mower. Finally bought a Craftsman with a Briggs and Stratton mower. Bought it and had it one day, didn't use it. Listened to Spotify all that day, nothing weird happened.
Then the next day 20 minutes after I start up the mower, a Briggs and Stratton commercial comes on 😒
So not only did Google track my purchase and listen to my phone, but told Spotify I was mowing grass and Spotify played the Briggs and Stratton commercial.
I'm about a year away from moving to a hole in the woods and staying there.....

@noxxi knox if it comes loose enuff to hellicopter as you put it it will come up and slam in to the hand guard stalling the grinder , all grinders (IN THE uk AT LEAST ) have inertia switches as a legal requirement , means they turn off if they have kick back like a chain saw , so nothing will happen , i have lost chains on saws with 48 INCH bars and never been injured im not saying they are safe but for $30 compared to a decent 15 inch petrol chainsaw like a huski or sthil at $600 ide risk it for garden use.
