This is epic! I commercially harvested suckers a number of years and this was one place I always wanted to try. Unfortunately closed to commercial harvest. But back in the 80’s before a lot of regulations were put in place there was guys doing it here.
I couldn’t believe how many were there! I had never been to this spot before and was thinking there’d be smelts and maybe salmon coming in right there. You could tell there was a bunch of fish and I got looking around and I’m like wow! Big ol sucker run going on! 😂 pretty cool watching them and looked like some big ones too.
I had NO idea!!! I knew that fish or fish parts were used but I guess I always assumed they were salt water trash fish, ( about the ONLY thing the ugly things are good for ) huh?
