Nightshift on Moosehead Lake Underwater Drone Footage

@MFEGoingDeep it’s been a strange winter to say the least and I had planned on doing a nighttime exploring mission on Moosehead before the ice was off the lake. I had figured on having all of March to plan this out but the weather forecast prompted a quick trip up this past week as warming temperatures would make ice conditions sketchy at best. Now all the suckers, cusk and crayfish that we see can all be found during the day as well but it seemed to me anyways a definite uptick in activity. I’m curious if this is the case for other species as well and something I’ll have to look into eventually. Watching the cusk or burbot as they’re also called is something I’ve been wanting to get some footage of as they’re definitely a unique looking fish! Unlike a lot of the Salmon and trout species that spawn in the fall, these guys are spawning right now or getting ready to anyways.

I think that maybe the two fish together may be walleye? Lots of carp and suckers very kewl!

Should be all suckers, chubs and burbot/cusk. No walleyes or Carp in this lake. That wouldn’t be good! 😳
