  • @MFEGoingDeep this was the final wreck I looked at this particular afternoon. It was awesome having the opportunity to take a look at some of the history that lies on the bottom here and especially enjoy being able to share those experiences with all of you! What I could find for info on this one was it had been built in 1901 in West Cove shipyard for the Coburn Steamship Company. It was 70’ long. I couldn’t find much regarding how or when it sank. Was thankful to finally be able to set up and have a look around here as I’ve been wanting to basically since I first started doing this!

Great video. I had never heard about this wreck before. Interesting to learn and see a part of history. As I watched I was curious if the drone could handle the cold, then I got to end and saw you pull it through the ice... question answered. Also, just noticed the date on the video X)

This was definitely a cool day seeing the different wrecks around that point. It was one of my first serious through the ice dives with the drone and really like doing that! The clarity is good and it’s comfortable setting up in a pop up ice shack while you’re doing that. Also don’t have to watch out for boat traffic then ride out the waves afterwards lol

Awesome! I never knew there were shipwrecks in Maine's lakes, although I guess that makes sense. I have heard that there is the wreck of a boat in Schoodic Lake in Berry Cove (near Norway Point). I'm curious if you've heard of it, I've only heard it from my grandfather. Anyways, I love your vids and I hope you have a great day!

I never knew either about them until I started doing this. Moosehead especially has quite a few. A lot of them were scuttled in the lake once they were basically made obsolete with expanding roads and vehicles becoming an easier way to travel the area. Some found it cheaper to do that then trying to salvage them. I’m really hoping to maybe find some in there that haven’t been seen since that time! I had heard there was some type of boat wreck in Schoodic but wasn’t sure where. I’ve been in that area before looking around too but never saw it. Appreciate the info, I’ll have to investigate more! 😊

@@MFEGoingDeep I don't know how big the boat in Berry Cove is, though my grandfather told me it's not a huge boat. He also told me that a long time ago a train carrying sugar crashed on the railway by Sucker Brook.
