  • @MFEGoingDeep it’s hard to come up with words to properly describe how neat it was watching on my screen what was happening out in the water where I couldn’t actually see. Today was one of those days that I really hoped I’d get the chance to witness to some degree and so thankful I made it to the right place at the right time! I watched these fish do their thing for awhile so I decided to break this video up into smaller parts as it was too much for a single. There are some true trophy size salmon captured on this video as well as some very respectable lake trout. The fact that they were all congregated together at the same place same time had me beyond excited to get home and get this footage downloaded! Stay tuned for Part 2! 👍🐟

    Awesome video Thanks for sharing. The debris and algae in the lake is concerning.

    Excellent footage. Very interesting to see Togue in such shallow water. Thanks for sharing.

    I believe the last school of salmon filmed beyond those lake trout were too big to be landlocked. I have a sneaky suspicion they are sea run.

      Very possible! The lake does grow some really big landlocks though too and when I zoom up on that footage all 3 of those look to have their left anal fin clipped. I’d have to research back to see what age class that would make these fish but between that and no adipose fin half moon punch I’d say they were landlocks that had been stocked.

    Family has lived in the lake for almost 100 years and this dude comes and makes it the new spot

    Very interesting! Salmon and lake trout mixing together during spawning season. It's really not typical lake trout spawning habitat (rocky/boulder). Good vid!

      That’s what I thought too! I couldn’t figure out what would draw a concentration of lake trout like that to that particular place with all the “traditional” spawning area nearby. Guess they just wanted to be on camera 🤷‍♂️

      @@MFEGoingDeep Was that right off the landing? I just uploaded a vid to my site from Sebec that was more typical of the habitat they spawn on.

      I just watched that’s cool! I checked a couple areas on the lake within a day or 2 of this video and didn’t see a fish in exactly that type of structure and I thought for sure I would. I’m sure it’s a timing thing. No this wasn’t right off the landing was basically just showing the lake. Are you overseeing Schoodic as well?

    The date on the lower right is a little confusing. Is it April 11th or November 4th?

    Were all those togue? Looked like either salmon or browns mixed in? I'm not the best at fish identification, I'm a bass fisherman...😂

    • @MFEGoingDeep
      @MFEGoingDeep  8 месяцев назад +1

      Yes a bunch of togue and salmon, no none brown trout in the lake as far as I know and they do stock a few landlocked salmon annually and have sea run atlantics that come into the lake.
