  • @MFEGoingDeep my first trip to Sebago Lake was certainly a day I’ll remember! My main goal for coming here was to have a look in the deepest water area of the lake which happens to be the deepest in the state, which you will see in the next video. Part 2 of this trip was to have a chance to look where I thought there might be some old bottles or other artifacts to recover. While researching I stumbled on to Frye’s leap and figured it would be perfect especially where it drops off to 100’+ really fast. The Notch where this is located between Frye island and the mainland was an EXTREMELY busy place with folks enjoying a gorgeous July day on the water. I was able to recover several old bottles and a pair of goggles off the bottom and enjoyed exploring this spot! For some reason the camera stopped recording for a couple of the bottles and the goggles but thankfully was able to realize and take care of the technical issue.
    An absolutely beautiful clear lake I’m already looking forward to a return trip here as soon as I can! Certainly many areas to explore and things to see and find!
    If you haven’t subscribed to the channel yet I would greatly appreciate your support and as always thanks for watching! 👍🐟

    Thanks for picking up the trash! Pretty psyched to see how little there was. And that Casco soda bottle looks like a score.

      If I had seen it again I would have! Just drifting around in the boat by the time it’s come back up to the surface and then I send it down again it doesn’t necessarily drop right back in the same spot depending on how much I’ve moved. There was also a couple times I had to reposition completely after bringing it up as to avoid boaters that were coming in and out of there.

    My niece Lisa jumped from the top, forgot to bring her arms in. Major redness on both arms, hurt her for a few days. It takes being fearless to jump from the top. Great spot to anchor your boat and watch people jump. ❤

    • @MFEGoingDeep
      @MFEGoingDeep  24 дня назад

      It works out good grabbing stuff like this as sometimes you never know can find something really old and cool like a couple of those bottles date back to the early 1900’s and I’ve recovered some in other lakes older than that. And at the very least cleans up the lake a little bit. Win win as far as I’m concerned. Not sure how long ago you lost that there but I’m hoping to have another look in that area again sometime soon and can keep an eye out although good chance it’s quite rusted out if it’s been any length of time.

    Question.... Where's all the aquatic life??? Is it that polluted?

    • @MFEGoingDeep
      @MFEGoingDeep  Месяц назад

      Sebago Lake is like 47 square miles with an average depth of 107 feet. That is a massive area. This video is just in the small area at the bottom below Frye’s leap so that’s not even beginning to scratch the surface of looking around down there. Plenty of fish around and seemed like a really clean lake to me. There will be places out there that have all kinds of fish all about finding them, this video was mainly seeing what I could find on the bottom at this spot. If I had been up higher in the water column and looking around instead of straight down there was probably some swimming around right nearby.

    • @Kevin75668

      It's clean enough that it's the drinking water for a good bit of southern Maine. Not much for them to do this deep, all the food is in shallower water.

  • @davidwagner8776
    @davidwagner8776 24 дня назад

    not one fish. seems the fish population is not what it used to be even rangely lake is empty. too bad they couldn’t replenish fish population

    • @MFEGoingDeep
      @MFEGoingDeep  24 дня назад +1

      Remember it’s a huge lake and this was just a small area in this video I was looking and I was mostly focused right on bottom to see what I could find. There’s fish around, hopefully on another visit can find a spot where there’s a bunch hanging out and video them!
