      About this, there is an actual way to change the way keyframes look in the keyframe tab 👀
      Right click anywhere within the Keyframes Editor > Options > Display Point Values and keyframes will appear as dots instead of vertical lines.
      Not exactly a keyframe symbol but it makes it easier to select them.

    I think a big workflow improvement would be to be able to just select any two nodes and connect them with a keyboard shortcut. The whole thing of having to mouse-drag the connections is quite time consuming and requires unnecessary precision. I know certain nodes have more than one input but perhaps you could press the same shortcut multiple times to cycle through the inputs. Still faster than drag and release.

    Fusion Studio is way faster and optimized that its Resolve's counterpart. With that being said…
    1.- I wish they don't abandone the Studio version and bring the Color page's OFX into it.
    2.- Grids and Rulers like AE!!!! I hate the grid node.
    3.- A more intuitive grid warp node (i.e. I would like to make some elephats legs longer that those of Dali's, but without tracking a steady image)
    And as a bonus
    4.- And update for the Magic mask would be nice (with more controls)
    5.- In the CC node, setting the Predivide/Post multiply option active by default. (that will save a lot of people's time)
    6.- More customizable shortcuts (ie. setting the Show > Show Tile Picture to a personalized key)
    7.- More visible splines for Roto work (if possible, customizable colors like AE)
    8.- A cleaner UI, just like Fusion studio befor its integration with Resolve
    9.- A more direct way of masking footage, instead of connecting your footage to a BG, adding a ply node and then merging again with other stuff. I would like a node you connect your footage to, and inside it tracing a polyline and then outputting that to other nodes.
    10.- Cavalry is a vector only motion graphics app, it has many good examples of how a software can animate vectors, so maybe the BMD team should check it out and learn some of the posibilities for Fusion.
    I could be here the whole day so there I stop. Lol
    Have a nice day Jake.

    • @fusionresolved

      "In the CC node, setting the Predivide/Post multiply option active by default" I think that's the point, to not have post multiply check by default so it doesn't mess with your alpha channel. This is why AE does those under the hood since it doesn't give the users more control which why it's not used in pro vfx studios as in contrast in Nuke you'd have to add a unpremult and postmult node manually as that gives the most control.
      The reason why you'd need to connect your footage to BG to mask is because in Fusion, the mask tools are created on a unique matt channel that's actually a sperate from the regular RGBA channels. That's how Fusion works under the hood and I don't see that changing unless they rewrite the program.

    They need a way to connect nodes to other nodes quickly with out dragging. I would love to highlight 2 images and a merge press a hotkey and the auto connect. I could then press the shift S to switch if need. Generally they need ways optimize creating flow. Im tired of dragging squares to triangles.

    Since you've talked about all motion graphics tools I'd like to see more compositing tools in Fusion. Ik the price of Fusion is nowhere close to Nuke or After effects but we can still hope for it. Things like;
    1. PBR renderer
    2. Better exr workflow like Nuke.
    3. Spline warp and better puppet warp.
    4. AI based tools
    5. Better hotkey manager
    6. More space for the nodes (the standalone version lets you zoom a lot more than Fusion inside Resolve)
    7. Fixing or redoing a lot of existing nodes that feels finicky to work with or just somewhat broken.

      About point 3, there is temporary solution for it: a script in Reactor that allows you to convert a Text node into an SVG file. It is called VectorSnapshot that can be found in the Scripts > Comp category.
      You basically view the Text node in the left viewer and then you select Workspace > Scripts > Andrew Hazelden > VectorSnapshot from the menu list.
      You import is as an SVG file and then you can convert it to sShapes using the method shown by Jake Wipp in “The ultimate way to import SVGs” video.

    1. Fluid AOV compositing like Nuke so we just render our render passes in our favourite render engine like vray, fstorm, corona, redshift and with one click it just import those and make node out of the exr file. Doing manually even with reactor is very time consuming.
    2. Just like drivers in blender work where you can link any property with other so when you change one other automatically updated. It can be set to delay update if perform issue occur but it should be universal across the system. Even expression are somewhat similar but not that flexible and straightforward.
    3. The spline editor in fusion take lot of space in nodegraph, it should be open below the properties panel, we can compromise on that.
    4. Live-link container which can hold any type of file and when it updated by other program, it gets updated automatically to speed up team work.

    Automatic creation of the 3d renderer/ particle renderer/ shape renderer, when you try to connect them with normal 2d nodes( like merge nodes are automatically created). Would save time and make those systems more open for beginners, cause they won’t get confused on why they can’t connect 3d with 2d nodes for example.

    Additionally i'd wish there was an option to somehow render animations with purely vector elements as an animated svg.
    That and also better effects/nodes like the ones AE has and DVR fusion is missing.

    For Fusion, I'd love to see:
    1. A mini-timeline panel in the Fusion page with options to show the entire Edit or the Fusion Clip Timeline and an an option to lock the timeline so no edits can be done to only use it for viewing and navigation.
    2. A setting to view the final output (through Edit and Color) from within the Fusion page.
    3. A "publish to Edit page" option for individual controls, entire nodes, and groups of nodes. Creating and loading in macros is such a slow way to get controls to the Edit page. Since it's all one program, there should be a more convenient way to share these controls across pages.
    4. Remember where I left off when going to another page and coming back into Fusion. While the project is open, Resolve should be able to remember where I was and restore those settings.

  • @KrunoslavStifter
    @KrunoslavStifter 5 месяцев назад +2

    I think you make some great suggestions. Especially for SVG's. And DOF. That would be awesome to have.
    Correct me if I am mistaken, but I though that fusion is resolution independent by design, so that any graphics generated in the fusion can be scaled up like vectors. Also I think we should take into account that Fusion, especially standalone is able to have network rendering which can take a lot of the heavy load for those who are in need of it. While this raises up the hardware cost and is not suitable for all users, I haven't seen After Effects or other apps do much better with complex motion graphics. Also there are DOD and ROI tools for speed up of render times that work great as do proxy workflows, which is how things really work. Try Nuke of After Effects with just native rendering and it will kill any computer on heavy scene, no matter the workstation. I actually switched to Fusion from After Effects because of performance that was killing me in AF.
    That being said, personally I would like to see improvements across the board myself, but in terms of features I'm more into VFX, so Magic Mask spend, stability and masking can be improved. Voice isolation for leaving out the background noise. Improved tracers in Fusion and stuff like that would be welcomed. I think the motion graphics crowed, like yourself is more into that aspect, but fusion and resolve as whole is truly a big space now, for many type of users. I hope we get a bit of each for everyone. Fairlight page is also getting some love lately and more is always welcomed.

    • @JakeWipp
      @JakeWipp  5 месяцев назад +1

      Regarding the resolution you are right and wrong haha. If you create a shape using a Ellipse or Rectangle it's vector while in that node or if you are using the shape system it's vector while in that system. As soon as it leaves the node it loses the vector quality.
      Transform nodes are an exception to this. If you set the size to .2 in a transform and add another transform after it to scale the image back up, there will be no quality loss. But if you add a blur or a modifier node in between those transform nodes that will no longer be the case.
      I just want more consistency and more resolution independence between all the tools.

    I asked for a layer based mograph tab years ago because Fusion is a much better compositor than mograph application. If you can have a cut page….why can’t you have a layer based mograph page?
    Everything is evolving towards faster and easier but Fusion is the opposite. Want to add a drop shadow? You’ll need a node for that. Want to crop something? You need a node for that. Drop shadow, crop, and resize should all be built in to whatever you drop into Fusion. Too many nodes to do simple things that are built in to programs like Apple Motion.
    I love black magic design turnaround times and speed trump all. Time for a layer based mograph tab guys.

    • @JakeWipp
      @JakeWipp  5 месяцев назад +5

      Yeah Fusion's strength is compositing. I don't think they should go layer based as nodes are more powerful and easier to use imo.
      The thing I don't like about layers is it's hard to see what effects are applied where. Programs like AE have pre comps inside of pre comps when that is totally unnecessary with nodes. Yeah you have to add in a node for every effect but it's the same about of work as dropping an effect on a layer. With nodes you can easily see that it's there, when it's being applied, and can view the composition at any point without turning effects off.
      Plus masks are SO much easier with node 😁

    • @rano12321
      @rano12321 5 месяцев назад +3

      Going to layers would be against the philosophy of Fusion and considering other than adobe products nothing is really layer based, it makes more sense. Adding one node each effect is the point of using nodes so you can see from a birds eye view everything you've done and then easily go back and change anything or copy paste them easily. If all you are doing are simple things then you should stick to basic programs for easy fast simple stuff like capcut or filmora. Adding more motion graphics tools is def more welcome but def not layers. Blackmagic says very nicely on their website that why they prefer nodes over layers and there are many many solid reasons for it.

      @@rano12321 💯
      Layers are training wheels. Might feel less intimidating than nodes at first but ultimately layer-based anything will hold you back creatively. Even for simple mographs, I think nodes are far more intuitive. But I think a lot of this convo comes down to what you're used to. The beautiful thing about Fusion is it's very easy to build your own tools on the fly without any coding experience, so you can have a single node that applies shadow, crop, resize, whatever you need.

    • @rano12321
      @rano12321 5 месяцев назад +4

      @@MattMcCool0 Exactly, when I was a full time AE user I resented the idea of nodes and didn't wanna use Resolve for it but after learning nodes I switch to Resolve just to use Fusion primarily lol. Now I can't even use anything layer based like photoshop because I'm so used to the logical nature of nodes since no matter how simple or complex stuff you are doing, you can build everything based on the simple foundational logic system in Fusion which makes it very very powerful and since how nodes work is very universal, once you learn nodes you can transfer that knowledge to any node based software.
      Yup, exactly, one of the biggest perk of nodes that you can create new nodes/macros to do effects that already doesn't exist in a menu/layer based program and then expose certain parameters to control the stuff you'd usually change to do the repetitive task. It's the same for Fusion, Nuke, Blender, Maya, Mari etc. etc. Makes sense why professional programs are all node based, at least 99% of them lol.
