@@coffeelover1456Thanks for sharing your thoughts. We don’t expect everyone to love every video we produce. Blackmagic’s development team is awesome. Their beta’s are very usable. Many professionals use them in production. We produce many videos that focus on core 18.6 features. We also produce videos about the latest beta features. We hope you continue to watch our videos and find content you enjoy.
@@coffeelover1456some professionals do actually use beta versions they tend to wait 3-4 betas if they do and imo this is one of the most stable beta versions in quite a while 17 was quite good if I remember rightly, yes most pros are risk adverse but some jump sooner then you'd think it's very much a person to person choice
i didn't know i could add a media node to background, i thought only way to add a media node is through media pool drag and drop, i was struggling to connect my compound clip to a green screen animation. this video was about new stuff but unexpectedly i learnt something old and it feels like a heavy burden just lifted off my shoulders! (i've been searching for 2 literal days on how to work with compound clips in fusion page) (i'm new to fusion btw.. i live in edit and color pages) TYSM!!!
We’re so glad. We like to call them knowledge pot holes! 😋 Happy to fill them in. Everyone has them, no matter how long they have been using fusion. Thanks for watching
hello ma'am Thank you for your useful and complete training. My English is not very good, but I understand what you are saying. Thank you for speaking so well
Hi, thanks for this video. I installed all the Betas so I knew these possibilities well, but the video is very interesting. I wanted to ask why the message "No frame available for MediaOut1" now appears on old Fusion settings, which I have seen appears even when nothing is connected to the MediaOut at the start of node programming. Thank you very much and congratulations, I always follow you.
What would be nice is having shared nodes in your Fusion comp, the same as shared nodes on the colour page which transfer to different clips. That way you can edit parts of the comp for each clip, and have certain aspects be universal.
Always watch when you upload and never am I disappointed. I learn so much from these simple things. I never even knew about using a Fusion clip with a "Background" to adjust whatever the Edit page is doing. I've been editing an Adjustment clip instead. I wonder if it's the same thing? Anyway thanks for the tips. Not sure I will use as with the Adjustment clip you can fade in an out on the edit page to transition the effect
hey, i got same thought too last couple months. Yes you can use adjustment clip as fusion comp too...both of them have identical output...... But, if i correctly remember, you can render in place Fusion Comp only, meanwhile the adjustment clip cannot be rendered in place alone, except you bring the media underneath to be rendered together.
Thank you for the great tutorial! From what I understand, references are limited inside one project, and there’s no way to affect other projects, say adding referenced composition to power bin or something like that?
Great videos, but the "S" sibilance is very sharp in the audio when you speak. I would suggest using a different mic with a pop filter if possible or a de-esser plugin.
Hi, we're so sorry about the sibilance! We'll make sure we have de esser in our effects stack on future videos. We appreciate the feedback. Thanks so much for watching.
You guys are goat'd for davinci guides. You guys are my go to for updates. How did you set your colors like pencils at around the 1:58 mark? I do videos for VTUBERs, and magic mask is hard to use on anime characters sometimes cause the color palette matches the background. Wondering if you have any suggestions around this. I usually have to use a lot of marks of add and subtracts to get a good mask. Also, the tracker defaults to intellitrack, but you can use the legacy tracker by adding a "Point" and removing the intellitrack. yooo referencing OTHER RUclipsRS ?? YOU GUYS ARE GREAT. Let me know if I can help support you guys in anyway! I am not a great editor but I have a different perspective just from the type of videos I make.
Thanks so much, we really appreciate that and we appreciate having you in our audience. Magic Mask will be hard to use on anime because it's probably trained on live action footage. I'm sorry there's no easy solution for that with Magic Mask. The object mode will most probably be better than the person mode. @CaseyFaris and @VFXStudy are awesome channels. They are both great peeps too. Always a pleasure to point people in their direction.
Thanks for the post. When will we be able to upgrade to version 19? And ... can you provide a link so we can download the current 19 Beta? Thanks, Chuck
what about change text? For example in first clip I want write "TRAVEL CAM", in second clip I want write "CAM NOT TRAVEL" If I change text in Reference comp - all clips will change too?
I appreciate your work and subbed on one of your other videos just now, but FYI this video your desktop is too blurry for me to be able to read anything to do with the nodes. I'll watch it and will learn from it of course, just a bit of feedback. Thanks
Thanks hon, but I am such a scared girl when it comes to Fusion. I tried getting it but I couldn't understand squat. I think I will never be able to learn Fusion.
Thanks so much for watching and commenting. We get where you are coming from! It can be confusing, but in general Fusion is a little easier than people think. We’ll make some beginner Fusion videos in the future. Im the meantime @CaseyFaris has some excellent beginners guides for Fusion. It’s great to have you here.
@@team2films thaank youuu. I have another question. Do you think Fusion is an inferior motion graphics tool compared to After effects? I hate Adobe and would not like to use AE. Thanks.
Showing the initial inefficiency that these references help with is genius and helped me contextualize this new functionality beautifully
🙏
Ah, that's great. We're so happy that was helpful. Thanks so much for watching.
This is the only da Vinci resolve channel that doesn't give me eardrum and brain cancer. Thank you very much for your work. You're outstanding.
Thanks so much. Glad you are enjoying the videos. Thanks for leaving such a kind comment.

Thank-you Casey! Really looking forward to ResolveCon.

Great feature and very well explained - it was great seeing you guys at IBC !
Thanks so much, and likewise, it was great to see you at IBC too.
great teaching skill , no wasted words. thank you .
Thanks Barrie
You guys have a very nice way of explaining things, really the best channel that i know, already excited to listen to you tomorrow in Amsterdam
Thanks so much. We’re on our way! See you tomorrow.
Great video! Great update! I just wish they make big changes for caption editing soon 😢
Thank-you.
Wow. Referenced clips are awesome, but I also learned the (old) way of using a background layer within a fusion comp which I didnt know!
Ah that's cool! We're so glad you found it doubly helpful!
Thank you for such high quality production on davinci resolve!
You are welcome.

Oh my, what a time saver! Thank you :D --- UPDATE my renders crash :(
Oh no! What’s happening?
Referenced fusion compositions are pretty nice.
Do the motion vfx packs include some of these?
There are lots of people making motion vfx templates for Fusion. I'm not sure if anyone has made referenced compositions yet. They are pretty new!
I,ve been a portrait photographer for 40 years and I can say that your extremely rare natural beauty is outstanding.

what about change text? For example in first clip I want write "TRAVEL CAM", in second clip I want write "CAM NOT TRAVEL"
If I change text in Reference comp - all clips will change too?
Yes. That is correct. You would need to create a new reference comp or use another tool like creating a fusion macro. They are very powerful!
I appreciate your work and subbed on one of your other videos just now, but FYI this video your desktop is too blurry for me to be able to read anything to do with the nodes. I'll watch it and will learn from it of course, just a bit of feedback. Thanks
I have a query. What if I want to make some changes in the 4th reference clip keeping the other 3 intact. Is it possible ?
Yeah sure! You could make another reference clip and link it to that instead.
Anyone know ? Where is 1/30 quality dropper for better preview in fusion 19 , I used this feature in Davinci 18 fusion but In 19 I didn't get
links in description for vfx study is missing .
Sorted. Thx
Anyone else noticed that they're not on the Davinchi resolve 19 Beta?
