That would be an interesting feature to add. You could implement that easily though. Use the dialogue separator to put the ambience on it's own separate track and then use the ducker to drive the volume of that track.
Great video! I love the how thorough and clearly you cover and explain features, simple or complex. I'm trying to figure out if Resolve has an audio feature similar to 'Audio Match' in FCP, in case two audio recordings were recorded in different environments (or with different mic placement/etc).
Thanks so much! No there's nothing them matches them automatically, but there are definitely tools that you can use to tweak the sources to better match.
Can you use a sidechain or bus as the source for the new ducker? Like you said, you’ll often have multiple channels of dialogue and music. Using the compressor doesn’t have that useful lookahead function so it would be great to feed a mixed dialogue bus into the Ducker tool.

Audio panning works great but you also really need to be using it with a volume curve. That's funny, Avid MC has the Ducking tool since, at least, 10 years. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think Ducker function is driven by an AI model. It's more based on db threshold with no prediction, I guess. However, very happy that DaVinci finally got this tool.
Thanks for watching. It's been possible to perform ducking using Sidechains in Resolve for a long time. The ducker feature makes this easier for editors to apply. It also has the added advantages that it looks ahead. The side chain method can't do that. You are correct, the ducker is not driven by AI.
@@team2films Thanks for the reply. Oh, I didn't know it was possible in DaVinci, I spent so much time with DaVinci python API that I missed some basic function :) Love the presentation.

Hey. I saw this video and I had to test it. Since I have no ambition to making money on RUclips I used copyrighted music. It's quite impressive what a noob like me can do in 2 hours. Thanks for pointing me at it.
@@bca7839 That's a good point. We'll try and be clearer about which features are studio and which are not in future videos. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Yes, we're working on the beta. But your workflows might encounter issues that ours doesn't. Beta's are great, but they are beta's. If you're not sure, wait for the public release.
7:01 "cLICKING ON THIS BUTTON" - I think your microphone/software setup may sometimes eat the very first sounds of your speech. 9:50 may be another example ("fOLLOW THE LINK IN THE DESCRIPTION").
Yes, it's possible to replicate voice isolation with the dialogue separator. Perhaps these features will merge in the future, but for the time being, it's good that legacy workflows are not getting broken.
You’re not quite understanding look ahead with the Ducker. It’s standard audio editing terminology. It doesn’t help it react before the person speaks and not using it does not make it react after the person speaks. The Ducker is only ducking at the exact time the person is speaking look ahead only does exactly what it says it looks ahead to see what’s coming so that the results are more accurate.
Hello, here's some helpful definitions from elsewhere on the internet that describes how a look-ahead compressor or ducker works: "Look ahead compression effectively allows your compressor to see the signal a few moments in advance of it being processed. This allows the compressor to react to the forthcoming level changes earlier." "the compressor is effectively able to look ahead and react to changes in advance of them happening."
@@team2films it's not an original idea, there's already AI tools that does it but they charge "by the minute" so really hoping that resolve will make those tools obsolete
Thanks for watching. Yeah, that would be a great feature to have for sure. Hopefully soon. In the meantime, did you see our video on beat matching and ring outs?
That is ridiculous. they say "it's 19, purchase or download free version" and when you want to download it is 18.6.6 version. What a nightmare, advertise 19 and set for download only 18 for users :) So, where is that V19 ? I don't talk about beta that will mess up with my projects, I say about V19 stable. Cheers man !
Hello! Download the DaVinci Resolve 19 beta here: www.blackmagicdesign.com/uk/support/family/davinci-resolve-and-fusion If you'd rather wait till it's out of Beta, I would imagine it will be out by September. The beta is pretty stable though. Many high-end professionals are currently using it for their work.
You keep saying "rout", but it doesn't make sense in that context. This is the dictionary definition: rout - verb UK /raʊt/ US /raʊt/ to defeat an enemy completely and force them to run away
to defeat an opponent completely: The Russian chess team routed all the rest. How does this relate to the content you're presenting?
I NEVER heard a deepest HORRIBLE voice isolator tool, with so much crappy artefacts . OMG, I hope in the final version will it sounds better. I used better tools in ProTools, not for free of course but, for professional usage, it sounds and clean MUUCH better than this.
Haha yeah, people coming from an audio background will certainly feel underwhelmed. Are there any you recommend btw? I also use pro tools and currently I only have the Waves Clarity (cheaper edition) and Supertone's Clear. You think maybe I should just save up for RX10 stuff?
Heya, we're using the voice isolation completely dry and pushing it to an extreme. However, I'm sure there are better tools available for a cost. It's pretty incredible these tools are available dynamically in the timeline. I think for a lot of use-cases they are going to be more than good enough. I've no doubt that they will continue to improve with time too. Remember, this is just the beta.
I followed the link for the "$60.00USD offer" for Audiio. But when I opened the link there is no such offer. There's the very basic "Creator, the pro version for "$99.00USD and the and the FX Version for "$299.00USD on sale, but nothing for "$60USD," so that claim is a blatant lie and it can be construed and interpreted is false and misleading advertisement, which is still illegal nationally and internationally.
Choose the pro version, When you get to the checkout and enter the code you’ll be able to purchase it for 60 dollars. No lies here. The offer is real. Reply to this comment if you are having more problems and we’ll help you work it out.

Izotope is expected to announce RX11 next month. Wonder if they'll even bother now.
I'm sure there is still a big market for isotope. It's so cool the new stuff in Resolve though!
hello, I have Davinci Resolve 19 but i don´t have the new yudio tools on my one.
Are you using the free version or studio version?
Cool but can't find the ducker, work in 19.6.6.
It's a track effect. Select the track. Open the inspector.
So will my I eventually get access to these in a later update or do I need to pay for DaVinci again to gain access to Resolve 19?
Updates are always free! You can access these features already in the beta, as long as you have a studio license.
@@team2films Thank you! I probably shouldn't mess with this mid-project. haha
I downloaded the beta 19 software, however i am not getting the music remix feature.. Need Some Help Please...
Are you using the free or studio version of Resolve?
@@team2films Studio Version.. In fact the beta version loads as a studio version..
lot of affects missing my davinci resolve studio 19 how i get plz help me
😒
Can you provide more details?

I don't seem to have some of these new features but I'm up to date on updates? Version 18.6.6
These features are in the v19 beta.
@@team2films Ah okay, once the full v19 goes live, we can update as per the top left corner "check for updates" button?
Oh, I didn't know it was possible in DaVinci, I spent so much time with DaVinci python API that I missed some basic function :)
Love the presentation.
@@IvoVacca Our pleasure.
I have 19beta Studio installed. Decent hardware specs including Nvidia RTX3080 Transcription works (just as it did in 18.6) however if I activate speaker detection first, it sits there a while then crashes. Thoughts?
Hello, yeah there's definitely bugs! I'd recommend reporting this in the official Resole forum. forum.blackmagicdesign.com When Resolve crashes, goto the help menu and hit, Create Diagnostic Logs on Desktop, share that on the Forum. It's super valuable for the dev team.
Glad you've got it installed and trying out new features.
@@team2films Just FYI Jayaretv suggested update newest studio Nvidia drivers. Don't use the video game drivers. and it works. Hope this helps others.
is there any tool like Premiere "Remix Tool" that can extend the music duration?
No, not currently.
@@team2films we need that😶
@@TanleyLau Did you see our recent video about editing music (ring outs and beat matching)?
Hi sir my question (After Resolve update, activation is required, Resolve will not run without the key.) What is the answer
Did you download the studio beta or the free beta?
Hey. I saw this video and I had to test it. Since I have no ambition to making money on RUclips I used copyrighted music. It's quite impressive what a noob like me can do in 2 hours. Thanks for pointing me at it.
Yeah, it’s pretty awesome. Glad you liked the video
@@team2filmsyeah that was a valuable hint. Did you take a look at mine?
Which of these new tools are available in the free version, and which in the Studio version?
The AI tools are all studio, sorry. There's only a couple of the minor features in this video that are in the free version.
@@team2films Then you should change your video title to "Studio".
@@bca7839 That's a good point. We'll try and be clearer about which features are studio and which are not in future videos. Thanks for watching and commenting.
is this avilable in free version
Sorry! The AI tools are all in the studio version.
Ok why I can't find it?
What can't you find?
Is this version stable enough...
Yes, we're working on the beta. But your workflows might encounter issues that ours doesn't. Beta's are great, but they are beta's. If you're not sure, wait for the public release.
When I was asked to remove vocals in 2016, It was basically impossible. These days it`s just easy!
Yeah, pretty wild!
Thes features are not in the free version...
No sorry, most of these features use the neural engine. We call out the studio features as we go.
Where are all these changes KEPT Hope they Don't change my ORIGINAL MUSIC clip in th Media Pool.
The changes are not baked into your original clips. They are applied dynamically in the timeline. Your original media will remain intact.
7:01 "cLICKING ON THIS BUTTON" - I think your microphone/software setup may sometimes eat the very first sounds of your speech. 9:50 may be another example ("fOLLOW THE LINK IN THE DESCRIPTION").
From India
Inspector shows only ducker and dialogue leveler
What would been happened
I'm not sure! Sorry it's difficult to diagnose with so little info.
Is this in the free version 😢
Many of these features are in the paid studio version. It's amazing value though!
19 = AI 1=A , 9=I
Yeah, there's a lot of AI in this update. So cool!
None of this is in the free version is it? 😂
The AI features are all in the studio version. Sorry! It's still insanely cheap though!
But now we have voice separator, where is the point having voice isolator?
Separator does the same.
Yes, it's possible to replicate voice isolation with the dialogue separator. Perhaps these features will merge in the future, but for the time being, it's good that legacy workflows are not getting broken.
@@team2films i think the same, just wasnt sure if i missed something... :)
@@checkoff8281 I asked the same questions too when I first looked at it :)
Hello, here's some helpful definitions from elsewhere on the internet that describes how a look-ahead compressor or ducker works:
"Look ahead compression effectively allows your compressor to see the signal a few moments in advance of it being processed. This allows the compressor to react to the forthcoming level changes earlier."
"the compressor is effectively able to look ahead and react to changes in advance of them happening."
i wish they had added some AI tool to trim away all my "uhm" and stuff, that would save me lots of time
That's an awesome idea. Pitch it in the forums!
@@team2films it's not an original idea, there's already AI tools that does it but they charge "by the minute" so really hoping that resolve will make those tools obsolete
I also use music that needs to be reshortened based on the length of the video, don't see that here!
Thanks for watching. Yeah, that would be a great feature to have for sure. Hopefully soon. In the meantime, did you see our video on beat matching and ring outs?
Oh my God! I didn't know Leonard Nimmo I had a son.
Thanks ☺️
Are the free
?
That is ridiculous. they say "it's 19, purchase or download free version" and when you want to download it is 18.6.6 version.
What a nightmare, advertise 19 and set for download only 18 for users :)
So, where is that V19 ? I don't talk about beta that will mess up with my projects, I say about V19 stable.
Cheers man !
Hello!
Download the DaVinci Resolve 19 beta here:
www.blackmagicdesign.com/uk/support/family/davinci-resolve-and-fusion
If you'd rather wait till it's out of Beta, I would imagine it will be out by September. The beta is pretty stable though. Many high-end professionals are currently using it for their work.
You keep saying "rout", but it doesn't make sense in that context. This is the dictionary definition:
rout - verb UK /raʊt/ US /raʊt/
to defeat an enemy completely and force them to run away
to defeat an opponent completely: The Russian chess team routed all the rest.
How does this relate to the content you're presenting?
Route is pronounced differently in different countries! My appologies for causing confusion. Look up the definition for 'route' 🙂
@@team2filmsYou’re British so it’s “route”!!!
@@arnoldsnodgrass2953 I live with an American, so sometimes its rout 🤣
Features are not exist even in Pro Tools... wow
Yeah, it's pretty wild! And you can do it all without ever having to bounce or render. Amazing stuff.

Cherry-picks……
What do you mean?
I NEVER heard a deepest HORRIBLE voice isolator tool, with so much crappy artefacts . OMG, I hope in the final version will it sounds better. I used better tools in ProTools, not for free of course but, for professional usage, it sounds and clean MUUCH better than this.
Haha yeah, people coming from an audio background will certainly feel underwhelmed. Are there any you recommend btw? I also use pro tools and currently I only have the Waves Clarity (cheaper edition) and Supertone's Clear. You think maybe I should just save up for RX10 stuff?
Probably they are professional audio tools and not in a video editing suite.
I’ll give it a try today, artifacts would be a dealbreaker of course.
Capcut does a pretty good job n voice isolation
@@MarcOlivermusic Awesome! I'll check it out!
