Campaigned hard for that reverse voice isolation tool, didn't expect that would give a comprehensive tool which not only did that, but allowed you to adjust the reverb on the voice too. That is a game changer in my book. The possibilities are so exciting because you basically have a multi track studio edit from a single mono audio recording. For instance, you can theoretically adjust the pitch of someone's voice without it affecting the background noise. This is insane. With other affects you can modulate, auto tune etc, all while keeping background noise untouched in a separate track!
Hay Jason, really looking forward for you to teach me how the new FAIRLIGHT works on the Resolve 19. Sure looks like a bunch of good stuff and you're the right guy for this. Appreciate all the video you've done. Sure makes my life easier! All the best, Michael
Crazy, I was just talking about how I wanted DJ board for these same music remixer tools. i did video for a wedding and noticed how the DJ could drown out vocals or instruments to shape the mood and being able to do that with video editing is fire.
What I think you missed with the Dialog Separator is the fact that you can reduce the reverb significantly. This will be a Godsend for Podasters with a not-so-ideal recording room! Amazing video as usual and THANKS!
I didn't get a chance to play with it yet, I'll have to test it and see how well the reverb removal does. I thought the examples sounded a little strange, but not too bad. 😜
@@JasonYadlovski That's so stupid of BM. You have such a good channel with a good loyal following , it was because of your channel that I made the move to davinci having only used garage band. This is very cool! I use ambisonics a lot as it is independent of the audio output format. So you can mix to 5.1 or stereo or whatever. You can currently use ambisonic plugins anyway (in v18) with multichannel A-Format files, but interested in what this new stuff can do.
This looks like a really good update Jason. @MrAlexTech has the Beta and he demostrated the Dialogue Separator and yes you can remove the voice and keep the background and ambience. Have fun in Vegas.
Hi Jason. Sorry this question has nothing to do with this video, I hope you don't mind me asking. Do you know if BM has any intentions of bringing DR to android tablets? I'm an android guy but I have been considering buying the most premium m3 iPad when it comes out next month. I'll rather spend that money on an android tablet that I can get better use out of.
This is really cool, the stem separator, but STILL no ability to lengthen or shorten audio as you can with Premiere Pro AND even Filmora. It's a great update but I'm a little underwhelmed. 😔
Why on earth didn't they add a feature to stretch music to match video length? all these remixers are great but they seem to always skip the basics and just add specialized features..
Will you make a tutorial how to mix audio for movie using DR19? I would like to learn everything about ambisonics, I mean how you mix dialog, music, sound fx and atmosphere to make it sound natural.
Just earlier this week I was considering whether I wanted to upgrade my iZotope RX9 plugins to the newest versions (and whether I should upgrade from Standard to Advanced), and here Davinci Resolve adds in the key features I was most interested in. Have you done a video comparing the quality between Resolve and the RX suite? This would be great once 19 becomes available.
I will have a video out probably next week. I just played with it today and it does work pretty good but you’re right it is a little bit different than how it used to work. 😜
We have the new Ducker, but I wanted to send several tracks to be sent to my Music track. There is no longer a "send" option I can find. How would I send 3 dialog tracks to my music track now? When I click "listen" on my Music track, it does not stay. UPDATE. I found it in the new features document. It seems there is no longer a Sidechain Bus. The lack of a send button is confusing.
So it still works in a similar way, but now you need to send your dialogue tracks to a bus (only if you have multiple dialogue tracks) and then on your music channel, you can turn on the side chain and select the bus as the source. This allows you to use the side chain in different ways. In the past it was like only being able to have 1 side chain, now you can have as many as you want.
Hi Jason, thanks for this new video. i have the studio version with 19 beta but i no have the "dialogue separator" in the inspector of Fairlight page. I don't understand 🤔
You have to go to the Blackmagic Design website and then the support section to get it. It’s only in Beta, so you won’t see it when you check for updates.
Yes these features are much appreciated but I was trying to do the following without success. I have a single audio track with VO ,music and sound effects. I was able to create separate tracks of music and VO, but when I applied the Ducker to the music track, it does not seem to work. The music is not ducking. I am not worried about the sound effects as I can replace them. The Ducker is working fine on original tracks. Any help would be appreciated
The ducker has been a little wacky for me at times, but a restart fixes it. Try restarting. Remember it's just in Beta, so there are some bugs that will be worked out. Also make sure to update to Beta 2.
@@JasonYadlovski Thanks Jason. Restarting does not help, I think the problem is deeper. The waveforms don't even change. We'll have to wait for the first none beta release.

Meanwhile, the audio and video are now de-synced. Especially if I'm using multiple audio tracks. I've had to cancel a RUclips series because of this issue. Is there a way to fix it?
If you already purchased studio, you need to put your studio key in again. If you only had the free version, and the update is asking for a key, you downloaded studio instead of the free version. Go back to the Blackmagic website and download the free version.
Really bummed out that the music remix doesn’t shorten/lengthen the song. I have to bring the songs into Audition to remix and then back to Resolve. Would be wonderful to keep it all in one program. Speaking of AI, the voiceover they used sounds like they used AI
Ah bummer.
