There is a bit of a workaround for this with the sPolygon Converter from X Session which will convert any normal mask node into a shape node, but having this as a native option would be so much better to have.
About the sElipse linking W and H values. Simple use an expression to link them, and than right click on the node, go to settings of the node and choose; Set Default. Now every time you use the sElipse node it will default to that settings. But you could have always proportionally scale it by using on screen controls in the viewer. it is not a sCircle, its sElipse tool so it makes sense to be ellipse, but you can modify it as you choose by setting default settings. Cheers!
Yeah! For the sEllipse I don't think it needs the link option because of the viewer controls and the nature of the tool. I just want it in the sTransform node like it is in the default transform node. The set default is a trick I've used in the past but shouldn't be necessary for this! I appreciate you mentioning that workaround!
Hi Jake. I found a propper way to import vector shapes into the shape system in fusion with right aspect ratio. Import the svg normally via import option. Go to the polygon mask node an right click: polyline/export/ as (.dfsh). create a sPolygon node. Right click import/shape. And then use sboolean to mask like your original svg.
As an after effects guy… Fusion is a cluster fuck. It’s so difficult to do the simplest things. Every once in a while, I do try diving into it… But not knowing it well enough watching your video makes no sense to me. Oh well, my loss. or is it? Like I said, I can make all these shapes and colors in after effects and it’s a breeze.
I feel the same, I’m trying to switch but doing simple things in fusion is so much counterintuitive, I have to do 15 clicks and go to so much pages to do something while in After Effects all I need is 1 click and a drag and drop..
I upgraded from resolve 18.6.6 to beta 19 and a week later went back to 18.6.6. Resolve had a lot of video and audio playback issues which made it unusable even for personal projects. I'm sure they'll address them but I'm not interested in being a guinea pig.
@PatrickStirling Hello sir I have learned a lot by watching your video. Many thanks for that. But a complete course it seems I expect from you. Because da Vinci is coming out with some new features that maybe we don't understand stuff. If you provide a marathon class, I mean marathon video, that would be great if that's what I expected from you. If you can help us a lot. And I want to move it within our own circle of friends
That style bypass in shapes is suchhhh a useful little change
Yes, import svg into shapes would be nice!

Great features in this release.
Nice video!
Still no color gradient option in shape system and also no taper option ☹
Yep, hopefully we will get those before the full release!

Hey do you think you could put your light wrap preset on your new website?
You just need to have the direct link to it: wipptemplates.com/product/light-wrap/
Are the normal rectangule, square, polygon etc nodes vector, or only the shape nodes are vector?
Check out my video on the vector system linked in the description. That will walk you through the system! (And what is and isn't vector)
@@JakeWipp Thanks, i'm gonna watch it
btw your a mf legand and ty for ALL of your videos what a beast

Yep, if you need stability it's a good idea to wait for the full release or at the very least wait a couple of beta versions!

You got me on the sSWG🥲, you got me exited at first when I saw the thumbnail.
