- This 202 foot tall B&M (Bolliger & Mabillard) hyper coaster opened in 1999, goes 73 mph and features a 208 foot drop thanks to the tunnel at the bottom of the lift hill. It's also the world's second "hyper-twister" coaster. Do you know which one was the first and where it's located?

This ride may look slow but trust me...its a fast ride
Max Van Rossum ikr
Max Van Rossum how do you know
Its super fast
True! This was actually my first roller coaster. I was gonna go to the exit and wait for my friends to do it but I spaced out when the lady tokd me to sit down and buckle up. I did and immediately realized what I did...I dont regret it tho.
Veronica Zamudio because he probably well he did ride it
After a lifetime of being a "deathly afraid of coasters person" I went to Great America in Illinois this summer. Raging Bull was the coaster that forever changed me into an I LOVE COASTERS person lol. I rode it three times and then almost everything else in the Park. I watched this and said wheeeeee every time it dropped. I never thought my brain could switch from hell no to oh yes like that. Raging Bull = smoothest coaster ever. Love it!
Same. My cousin had me go on it. Now I love coasters.
I’ve been going on roller coasters my whole life and I like riding them still, even though I partially find them to be uncomfortable. I love the adrenaline rush and feeling that you are flying when riding them, it’s just how my stomach and body feels when going down those hills is slightly uncomfortable to me. But I ride a bunch of roller coasters regardless!
Thanks dude, I'm going next year and I'm decently afraid, I mean, I conquered my fear of my home parks rollercoaster. A 70ft woodie. Not too impressive but it has impressive airtime for what it is. But whatever just do it haha.
This vid did NOT, I repeat *NOT* show the true speed on this beast
Vormix ur dumb
@@SuicideSauceNoodles Because its a video and not reality. Cameras can have a terrible effect on how everything looks. When I first watched this before going on Raging bull, it looked 3x smaller and a lot slower than it was in person. It's ALWAYS going to be different in real life.
Probably my fav ride though
Same for all videos the true speed will never be shown it’s so fucking fast
I somehow managed to ride ride 12 times in a day puked 2
Today was my first time on it and let me tell you before i got on it my heart was beating so fast like if i had run a mile i was so nervous but then boom it was amazing i say to try it even if you are scared asf its definitely worth the try
Same. Just got home from six flags. The worst part of any roller coaster is going up. Especially this one.
Mr. Waffle agreed, so true for this one
Lol me too I just went in for the first time this afternoon
Same!! I was crying so much when it started to go up before the first drop but I didn’t get the stomach drop feeling which is good that’s why I ended up loving the ride
😭Im scared to ride it bc of that stomach drop feeling!
Born in the mid 80s and growing up next to CP, I was a bit spoiled when it came to coasters. But I recently had the chance to visit Gurnee and this park and I have to say…Raging Bill is on my top 5 of all time favorite coasters. The length, the speed, the smoothness, the turns. It’s all so well made. Very underrated coaster and park.
It’s in my top five as well! Something about it is just so good. The back row absolutely slaps. (Beats out Mako in my opinion)
In my opinion, still the best coaster at the park.
Second Best, Goliath took the first spot. Still a lit ride.
Clay Koehler is it scary?
ChaoticZomba -Gameplay and More! Nah Goliath is worse
True! very true
Duh_Itzz _Britt_Britt no it’s a lot of fun at the drop. Going up u might me nervous but u shouldn’t
I practically live in Six Flags during the summer. This video doesn't show the actual tension you feel when you're on it. You might think it sounds old or looks rusty, but it's probably he smoothest ride I have been on. The front row isn't as fast as the back row, since you get pulled around everywhere and literally jump up. You can feel the drops every time you go on
Yes. It is still smooth. Some parts have a little rattle but it is super smooth.
Smoothhhhh
I practically live at six flags great America in summer too lol😂and btw ur totally right it's way better than it seems in this video
+Rane Victoria The drop is so unexceted in the back row,but you're pretty much true.
true, also the hills look so much smaller on video than when you are there
That drop is amazing!
It is I have been pn the roller coaster.
Zuleika Velasquez you would be if you see the design of the seats
Selenator Belieber Right!!!!!! i thought it wasnt safe the first time i rode it and saw the seats
Right
Tford it’s even better irl
I rode this front row and I liked it a lot, but I didn't feel any airtime and the drop was eh.
THEN
I rode last row and my life was changed forever.
I agree with this verdict. the front row isn't great, but is more scenic, and the back row is insane.
Back row is the best on every ride in the park. Except two, Maxx Force, and X-Flight.
@@winnihlanfeldt2228 x flight is a front row ride easily it looks so good the only good part about the back is getting flung over the first drop
I love this ride and it’s at my home park and it’s fun and idk
Nitro at SFGA is the same way. I'm thinking that may be a characteristic of B&M speed coasters. For one thing, when you're in the front descending the first drop, you're waiting for the back to crest the hill, so you don't start to pick up speed until you're about a third of the way down; when you're in the back you go right over and straight down. Totally exhilarating!
This ride is so smooth and the seats are so comfortable in addition to being intense. If you ride in the back it is absolutely terrifying watching each row drop in front of you row by row as the go over! It’s so enjoyable and one I can ride again and again!!! I feel like a lot of GA’s rides are underrated. Viper right next to it is thrilling too!!!!
Most underrated ride on earth
It's great. My only B&M hyper! Awesome and fun!
yugioh guy Raging Bull Shit is the worst hyper ever
CoasterGeek1216 no
AGREED! ITS A GREAT RIDE. WHI CARES THAT ITS A TWISTER COASTER. ITS FUN!
+CoasterGeek1216 YOUR OPINION IS SHIT. SHIIIIIIIT
The Raging Bull will always be the GOAT of GREAT AMERICA and one of the best rides in America at that. Ppl sleep on Six Flags Great America, one of the first parks to set the tone for Roller Coasters to be where they at today. Y’all remember the shock wave, 7 inversions, the most in the world back in the day when they put that ride up that was unheard of. 1988 the Shockwave was born. And then 9 years later the Raging Bull with its height, drop, speed and continuous hills.
Anyone else feel like you’re still on a roller coaster when you drive home?
OMG YES
As the train exits the station, it makes a left turn and a small dip before hitting the lift hill. At the 202-foot peak, the track passes through a pre-drop. After a brief straight section off the pre-drop, the track makes a 208-foot plunge into a tunnel, reaching speeds of up to 73 mph. The train then ascends 155 feet into a hammerhead turn to the right above Viper's queue line. After the turnaround is a 141-foot-parabolic hill with a trim brake on the uphill side. This followed by a 128-foot hill that banks left over the station area, followed by a dip under the lift hill and the 2nd hammerhead turn to the left, then a right hand uphill turn into a mid-course brake run. Dropping off the mid-course brakes, the track passes the on-ride camera. This is followed by an airtime hill, and a three-quarter turn to the right wrapping around the first drop, before the ride enters a figure-eight turn. Exiting the figure-eight turn, the track rises uphill and hits the final brake run.
imagine if you said that on ride next to a gp, that would be hilarious
If you put it on 2x that’s the real speed of the raging bull
Naww id say 1.25
no that’s if you’re in the backseat
@@marcsoshiesty I was in back seat and I was graying out in back row
As a former Illinoisan Raging Bull is one of my favorite rides in Six Flags Great America
Still the best coaster at the park. The height, the speed, the smoothness, the length. It's a perfect coaster.
I like the V2 better and also the Viper
imo goliath is the best coaster at the park but this is definitely up there
@@Someone-hi1nt Goliath is the worst coaster ive ever been on x flight and raging bull in the back row is indescribably better.
Interned at Six Flags and was somewhat scared of coasters. This ride forced me to change real quick lol
Going on last row is a lot more fun than front row
Every coaster is like that...except for kiddie coasters like the Bear Trax. I'm 14 years of age and I ride the Bear Trax today...by myself.
Twilight Sparkle no..winged coasters are much better in front row
ChrisG- Idk if that’s true for every wing coaster. X-Flight is fun and intense as hell in the back.
Agreed
I think coasters like X-flight are best in the front because it looks like you will hit the walls and thats kind of the more intense part of it
The first drop is incredibly underwhelming.
That SECOND drop tho
damn... Last summer (2016) I was scared to even go on the viper! near the end of the 2016 summer I was riding the raging bull like crazy. Guess I conquered my fear, lol.
The like scariest roller coaster I have been on is the Whizzer. What ride do you think I should ride on next?
I would try Viper, American Eagle, or Demon. I went on demon when I was 9, And now I'm 12, Demon is a good first looping ride. I also would recommend x flight, but that depends height and if your scared or not
Matthew Harrill I am over 54 inches. Also, to start off, which of those do you think would be better to start off. Also, do you think I should go on the giant drop?
I would do demon, Its a pretty non-intense ride. Giant drop looks terrifying in my opinion, But that's what you think. After demon I would probably to viper, Though it is a little Intense, its a great and fun ride.
Same, even though I didn't ride some rides last year. I only rode American Eagle and there was some rides I forgot...
This year I finally faced my fears against Viper and a few days ago I went on Raging Bull for the first time. Too fast for me but I'll ride it if I need to.
Now my cousins are telling me to go on BATMAN, X-Flight and more. Me and my cousins still haven't rode Goliath and now we need to ride The Joker now. Looks amazingly scary.
That drop is a Awesome!!! It feels so much like a drop. This ride has so much airtime. That airtime hill after that turn even though it got trimmed it gives awesome floater airtime!!! Plus the airtime after the mid course break run is excellent!!! Plus it’s all full of turns. AWESOME COASTER 9/10.
I wish they didn't trim Raging Bull so hard. It would be 1000x better with the trims off.
Also the first hyper-twister was Fujiyama at Fuji-Q-Highlands
Yeah, trims are awful. I305 and Mean Streak are the 2 rides that are probably most killed by trims. I305 was crazy intense without the trims, and was the best ride I've ridden. Mean Streak without trims (closing day every year) is the best wooden twister coaster I've been on not made by GCI. It has so much airtime in the second half, good lateral Gs all over the ride, actually smoother than with them (idk why) and is just really intense.
Agreed. CP trimmed Mean Streak to death. Now everybody's waiting for RMC to come in and make something of it
What's a trim?
Bradan Bruce Roller coasters use two basic types of brakes throughout their track circuits. A trim brake is a short brake that is put on the track to control the speed of the train, but is not used to stop the train. A MCBR (mid course brake run) is a set of brakes that are position along a flat section of track that is at least the length of the train and can be used to stop the train as well as control it's speed. MCBRs are used primarily for safety purposes to prevent train collisions or other accidents.
There's also a final brake run (similar to a MCBR) that's used at the end of the circuit to stop the trains before re-entering the station. This is where they hold the trains until the one unloading/loading leaves the station. When there are multiple trains on the final brake run waiting to enter the station, it's called stacking.
OK thanks that makes things a lot easier
Soooo, the Ragin Bull was my very FIRST roller coaster experience during my very FIRST visit to Six flags. Did I mention I was all the way in the back row too?! Talk about an ice breaker huh? lol and I've favored this coaster ever since *.*
MirakoSynth little rough for a first coaster eh?
Agreed! It's always best to start out with super intense ones, and then you feel like you can take on anything. :) My first ever was the flying dinosaur ride at Japan's Universal Studios, and there were so many flips, dips, and pretzel knots and you're on your belly the whole time. I've ridden many others since (not @ Six Flags, tho, I haven't been there since I was under the height limit for it lol) and I still feel like nothing was as scary as my first.
MirakoSynth was it scary
I've been to cedar point, and this is still in my top 5 favorite coasters of all time
Yesterday was the best day to go if you wanted to ride this a lot, rode it 10 times yesterday along with Goliath 3 times
Tmv.Coasters 68 what day did you go and I know I’m late 😂😂
Alyssa Freeman I went on Monday during rain, I went on Raging Bull 5 times and almost every single ride, there were literally no line like maximum 15 minutes, but we were there for like 8 hours
These videos make me feel good
I love roller coasters so whenever I get off one I try to extend the feeling by watching these types of videos. It never works.
My favorite roller coaster ride at Six Flags Great America
It reminds me of the memories when I used to live in the IL. I used to buy the season ticket every year. It was really fun that my friend and Ioften went to Six Flags after school on my mom's ride.
I wish I could turn back time
can’t wait for COVID to go away so i can head directly to Six Flags Great America and marathon Raging Bull back row for an entire day
I went on this for the first time at my first time at six flags, I screamed my head of and was yelling out random things..😂
Comment For Raging Bull
Like For Goliath
Which One Do You Like Better?
I like them both the same
@@maddysurendonk2998 I'm going on Goliath for the first time next weekend. This will be my first time at this particular park.. is there anything to hold while riding Goliath
CallingYou Next no
@@maddysurendonk2998 thanks
Goliath. Cuz it’s an RMC, duh
this was the best ride I've ever been on
The real is speed of this ride is way, and I say way faster than in the vid. Favorite ride in the park
Is this ride scary? I don't really like drops, so idk if I should??...😩
The first drop is a little intimidating at first, but after that, the rest is just pure awesomeness. If you can tackle the Raging Bull, everything else in the park will be a breeze..literally. But since you're a little apprehensive. Row 3 would be a good combination of a light pull/thrill. Then I'd work my way back if you like it. ^.^
been on nearly EVERY ride at six flags besides this one!! (and the joker.) going tomorrow for my first time 😎
I wanted to ride this but not anymore...
Edit: Holy crap i just hit the rollercoaster maniac puberty after this beautiful ride.
I've been on Raging bull and it's a great ride! My home park is Sea World Orlando and Mako is on a different level.
Best ride at the park, and batman too!
Due to this corona I feel like I’m sad because six flags isn’t open because in the summer I would go all the time and raging bull would be my first ride that I would go on I missed it so much
ITS OPENING THIS YEAR
@@jakethecake6952 yes finally I can ride raging bull again
The airtime on the back row of this coaster is absolutely crazy
That looks intenese that drrop though lmao
Yeah the drop smacks you in the face, but the rest will be fine. I screamed all the way though lol I just couldn't keep my mouth shut
hun, you'll be lucky enough to even so much as scream during that first drop. LOL
Mirako Oh god that sounds scary lmao
LOL Well the back row will make sure of that! I've rode this beast countless times and every single time, I can't scream at that point. But after that, the rest of the way is just awesome since I'm able to express my excitement xD
Blaiser Amanda you should see what the seats look like
omg i love this ride along with the goliath it is the best, and my bro never went on this and when he did, he.. didnt have and expressions on his face and in the middle of the ride he was like "so when does it end" in his normal voice and i was like "its almost oveerrrr!!!" in a screaming voice XDD
idk why everyone hates on this ride i’ve never been on it myself but it looks like so much fun
I was scared shitless of this but when I rode it, it wasn’t that bad. The first drop felt amazing and I’m not even a rolller coaster addict. If u have the chance to ride this, definitely do!
This ride always messes with my head because of how long it takes to get up before the massive drop. I think it might be the tallest in the park, it looked like I was the highest up possible.
The best part of it are the drops and the view your get when going up
That looks like an amazing coaster! I could almost feel the g-forces on the first few drops while watching this.
@@legofsh819 RIGHT!
I get chills from this
2020 anyone? November 2020 anyone? Ahh how I miss going on this ride.
This is a ride i saw in my dreams multiple times..
What the hell the coincidence it's in my recommended
I just went on this yesterday. It is by far the best roller coaster in the park. If you really love big drops, and just hyper coasters, this is the ride for you. It’s an amazing ride. It doesn’t go upside.
The drop looks so small on camera but i went front and it is way bigger and faster than it looks on camera
OMG, I am going there tomorrow, but I need to learn not to be afraid of roller coasters.
Lol good luck my dad made me ride Goliath and I've been dying to tall enough to go on all the 54" rides ever since
how was it icaller
gaige qa boom! It was really fun, I got to ride X-Flight and including the American Eagle.
Tomahawk Kings Thanks.
How’d it go?
FAAAK this ride . Hate that climb and drop .while it feel like your sitting in a highchair..ugggh .I'm more of a demon, wizzer ,bat man ,x-flight type fella🤗
This video does not show how fast this beast is
I just road this today had to watch it again
was my first ride and enjoyed it
Is it scary
Hey this was my first time riding it too!
+Tiny Tia no it's not scary at all only one drop is scary
Makes it looks slow . It's not! One of my favorites. Just went this past Thursday rode it 3 times ! Love weekdays , no lines
It’s so fun I was so scared at first but it’s the best ride there go on it
I miss riding it....DAMN YOU COVID
Ho ride it right now!
The last I went to Great America, there was no line for this ride all day, and my friends and I rode it 4 times in 30 minutes
Cedar point in Sandusky Ohio's roller coasters makes six flags coasters look like kiddie rides
Agreed, especially with Top Thrill Dragster.
Anyone that is just watching this to prepare for actually riding it, I would suggest doing the front seat as it makes the drop seem like much less of what it feels when you’re farther back.
i remember a year or two ago i went on this with my sister and her friend. When we saw the picture at the end, it was me screaming(and maybe crying a little lmao), my sister throwing her arms in the air, and her friend accepting immediate death. it was a fun trip lol
it looks like you even get a pop of airtime in the front, on the first drop
It isn’t slow it’s insane intense and the pov will never be able to show that
I went on this roller coaster one time and if you’re in the very back you get thrown around and it’s so much fun I went on it I probably around almost 10 times in a row because it was just so much fun to be in the back BTW if you go there sit in the back not the front I repeat not the front
@vikki9664 does the front have food airtime?
i love watching all the GP who think this thing is better than goliath lmao
fr when I go to school and they all are like shocked when I say Goliath is better than Raging Bull
Goliath has a better drop, a better layout, upside down, and it is clearly a better ride, just a bit short
Raging Bull is only more fun if you have a full row of friends and it is a long ride, but it isn’t that thrilling compared to Goliath
Rode this when I was 10 on the front. Was the craziest, I'm gonna be 33 i want to go again, with fast pass this time
1:38 to 1:42 it sounded like spongebob😂
LOL
Omg 😂😂
Fortnite Queen ha-ha lol
I’m not even on the ride and my stomach feels weird! Going in May 29th and this is the ride I wanna go on most
roblox roleplays check out Goliath 2!!
+CoasterForce was it Fujiyama at Fuji q Highland?
Interguy06 Yep. That's the one.
Dude that was epic
Why do they do trim brakes on coasters? The only reason I can see on the mid block brake is to keep people from passing out or less wear. I can’t really see any reason for trim brakes though.
When I went on this roller coaster, I for real thought it was the end of my life. That drop felt like the last seconds of my life 💀
@Beans It is fun. Going up it is terrifying, especially cuz it does sound clanky AF, but the rest of the ride is so incredibly smooth and enjoyable. once you make the first hill, nothing but good times.
@@icomur825 bruh you responded 2 months later💀
Never been to 6 flags before and I have an opportunity to go this weekend with my friends, I want to go, but I don't because I feel like I will get there and then realize that the rides are bigger than I thought, and then not want to go on any of them.
You should go
I’ve been on this, and it’s a literal ride from hell
I love this ride
i rode Nitro and Apollos Chariot and they were awesome for there time. Classic
Sky rush at hershy park is a hyper twister coaster
RosstonCoasters Skyrush is considered to be an Intamin wing coaster rather than a hyper coaster.
I remember I told my cousin “omg your seat belt isn’t buckled” and she believed me and I said it’s a joke” and that’s when we were about too go down lol
Seatbelts on coasters are not the primary locking mechanism. In fact, they are just a redundancy. The seatbelt’s only purpose is to make the coaster look safer.
Omg I was dying on the raging bull with my dad. Lol I said this ain't scary! Then my dad said are you sure? He laughs. Then when we drop. I said DAD THIS IS SCARY I LIE THIS SCARY! Lol
You might think it is slow, and it goes this fast actually, it feels faster because of all the air pressure hitting you
I'm going opening day on Saturday... lines are gonna suck. lol my friend chose to take me.
I had a panic attack on this, never again
Lmao bruh
omg they are in chicago im pretty sure lol ive seen the same exact placements of the american eagle and such lol
I believe the first was Apollo's Chariot at Busch Gardens Williamsburg.
just went on today...tbh i thought i was dying very fun tho but lord they need more security with the seating
I really want to ride it but I dont have a very strong stomach and Im afraid of throwing up. If you have ridden it before, do you think i will? I can go on Viper and X flight but didnt try the others
you’ll be fine
raging bull is very smooth
Can someone tell me if this is scary? Rate it from 1-10 coz my bsf what’s me to ride it with her,
Duh_Itzz _Britt_Britt sit last row, when the coster is going to drop, pick up your legs & feet as high as you can, also pick up your hands... If you do that on the drop your going to feel like your flying while nothing is holding you... The is best ride.... This ride is 8 out of 10 for craziness, 10 out of 10 for being best ride in park...
Matthew Morrison thank you ☺️
Its so much fun. The build up to the first drop is kinda nervewrecking but once your going down its amazing
Kerri Macharg thank you!😊
How do u get permission to film on ride?
Back row in this thing is unbelievable. I was off my seat the entire way down.
pat williams almost didnt ride this smh
Not much airtime, even in the back seat, but still an amazing ride.
I don't get why people crap all over this ride. It's a great B&M hyper. Lots of great floater airtime.
This is my 8th favorite ride
I love roller coaster but I’m so scared I’m going next month!
Such a great coaster. My favorite in the park
I can basically feel that I am in the ride and being passed out while I was watching this video💀
