- Three months ago, I began posting images of myself without makeup on social media. The following film contains real comments that were left on images of my face.

Over the past few months, I've received thousands of messages from people all over the world who suffer or have suffered from acne, an insecurity or self confidence issues.
I wanted to create a film that showed how social media can set unrealistic expectations on both women and men. One challenge many face today, is that as a society, we're so used to seeing false images of perfection, and comparing ourselves to unrealistic beauty standards that It can be hard to remember the most important thing - You ARE beautiful.
You are beautiful - no matter how flawed you feel, no matter how upset you may about the way you look or how hard you find it to make friends, or be confident. Believe in yourself, and never let anyone tell you're not beautiful - not even yourself.

Anybody who says girls who wear makeup is "false advertising" need to realize that women are not products. :')
Yeah but a lot of girls make them selves look wayyyy different and they feel and look pretty but they look like someone else

I honestly think it's because of makeup. You get so used to seeing people with clear foundation caked faces that when you see someone being natural, its weird. Atleast, that's my theory.

When I was working in a car workshop I was afraid that I would have more spots because that work was dirty so I washed my face after work and I had even less spots than before I started working. Washing face 3 times a day is more effective.

7 years ago and it still makes me cry. I saw this when I was 12. I cannot fathom how I would feel if my older sister never showed me this. She was 16, crying because she felt this way, and she chose to show this to me because I felt this way about myself as well. To this day it makes me cry, god I’m blabbering on because I’m crying still and yeah. This video has had such a huge impact on my life.

Skin. It's the thing people judge you buy. Rather it be the color of your skin, acne, scars, birthmarks, etc. It's how people decide rather or not you are "beautiful". I have acne and scars. People stare, ask questions about it so much, to the point where it doesn't bother me anymore. I'm learning to love myself and know that nobody is perfect and that its normal to have skin "issues". So everyone dealing with that same problems, remember you are not alone. Don't let people bring you down. Have a great day, and remember, you are beautiful!

I once read of a study showing that acne had a larger effect on how kids were treated, and on their self-esteem, than did all other common physical issues including obesity. Thank you for having the courage to be vulnerable for us.

I find it so hard to believe that someone could be so cruel ask if someone with acne has ever washed their face...I mean...how ignorant can you get?! I've suffered with acne for 15 years and I have tried EVERYTHING. Those who are lucky enough not to have it will never know the emotional torment it can cause.

Hannah Louise What most women fail to understand is that makeup is toxic. Besides that, it hides your face from the sun. A healthy skin should always come in contact with the sun. Of course, there are other reasons that acne appears, but the main one is the makeup itself. I've seen my sister destroying her face for so many years and now she looks like a monster without makeup. And she puts makeup to cover that and the makeup destroys her face even more. It's a vicious circle that never ends. I for one, prefer to see women more natural and I'm really sad that you all have to hide your real skin.

If you have acne problems, go to a dermatologist and follow the treatment, even if it takes time (because to cure completely it can take up to years), follow the treatment and your skin will be healthier!
@@aartzy Even after treatment many people such as myself are left with scars on their face. Having serious acne really changes peoples life for worse in my opinion and not matter what sou do it will stay with you mentally and physichally

My oldest daughter is as pale as her and has big blue eyes and she has eczema so i know how this girl feels . She's gorgeous with and without makeup.
Please always remind your daughter of her beauty and her worth, something as little as that can make a huge difference! I know I would've wished to hear those words when I struggled with my skin.

I tell my daughters EVERYDAY how beautiful they are. They are 3 and 7. Seeing their confidence in just saying that is a wonderful thing. I've heard my oldest daughter tell other children how beautiful they are as well. I think I'm doing something right.
