I tried to open that door on the left before you enter the main diner, and I think it cancelled out the next trigger. So nobody asked me for coffee, and I just walked around for 10 minutes trying to interact with everything. Reloading fixed it

you have to talk to the asian client, and then you will have to get a copy of alan wake's book to give to him. Then, fish will talk to you

I'm pretty sure they're meant to be failed attempts by Alan to escape previous to the main game. So they didn't "happen" but they are canon.
