What an incredible experience. This has got to be the only video ever uploaded with such detailed info of a 288 EVO, from up close clips of the engine, to the starting proceedure and the amazing in car footage. Thank you both for sharing this with us.
Such an absolute honor to have you share this experience with us. The pure and sincere joy on your face...I could feel it myself. Thank you and Tom for this great start to my day.
Wow! Just wow! The 288 GTO is my favourite car ever, but the Evoluzione is something else! Beyond special; a truly incredible car. Jodie, I don't think I've ever seen such a big grin on your face before! I'm so happy for you, and thank you so much for sharing this amazing experience with the rest of us. And of course, thanks too to the very trusting and wonderful Tom Hartley. It's a testament to your driving skill that he was happy to let you drive it, and I'm very glad that he did! Oh, to see you drive it on a racetrack 🙂, but perhaps that might happen some other wonderful day!
Hi Jodie! I imagine your other viewers, like myself, have been excited waiting for this "part 2"... and wow, you don't defraud putting us all in the driver's seat of this amazing Ferrari! Thank you - and Tom - so much. But.. I keep remembering that beautiful 550 Barchetta in the showroom. Why? Because.. it has your name written all over it!! Thanks again to both you and Tom.
Jeez I was a nervous passenger just watching the video. I had a poster of that car on my wall in 88sh. I guarded it with my life. Well done Tom letting you drive it. I wouldn’t even let anyone touch my poster. I’ve always been a huge 288 and f40 fan but I think the evo being so rare gives an almost haunting feeling. Like it’s other worldly
Jodie, your passion and emotion makes experiences like this so much more special! Thanks for sharing! It's great that Tom gave you this exclusive test drive.
How do you even come down from that? What a thrill! So cool of Tom to give you an exclusive drive! Best of luck in the new location and thanks for bringing us along on the ride!😊
This video was an absolute hoot to watch! I couldn't stop laughing the whole time 24:09 you were driving that beautiful beast and Tom's reactions to it! Thank you, Jodie and Tom.🙏🤣😂🤣
What an amazing experience this must have been. Haven't seen many people ever driving this car, especially in this century. The transmission whine would give me tinnitus after a while but what a thing! Must have blown the minds of anyone in the know driving in the UK that day!! Channel is Amazing Jodie, you get to drive the legends other can't
Oh my days this is brilliant. I've been attending Ferrari shows for over 30 years and never seen one. Ive never seen a detailed RUclips video of one either !! This is fantastic. The car sounds amazing.. Love your channel Jodie ❤️ Keep up the good work. Andy. 🚗👍
It was surreal watching this, can't imagine what it was like riding in it let alone driving it!! You guys are hysterical, so good to see the enjoyment and laughing!! However, driving a dog box AND laughing, priceless!! Those were some slick gear changes Jodi, dare I say better than Tom's!!
@KiddinaSweetShop yes indeed Jodie. Stunning job with the driving. Also I have to think that clutch is pretty heavy and not very progressive; i.e. more like a light switch.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. There are great cars and then there is that beauty. What a shame it never got to race. It would have been sensational.
Good to see the part 2 stunning unicorn car and the smile/wince factor was brilliant glad you enjoyed the roads around my part of the woods and should have come and said hello when I saw you 2
absolutely gorgeous, the old Fezza wasn't bad either, :) seriously though, that was an epic video , probably your best so far, hat's off to Tom for entrusting you with his Unicorn car, made my week watching that. top job all involved and thank you.👌👌
What a beast of a car, and an AMAZING drive video. If you weren't connected to do similar things, this would truly be a unicorn experience. Jody is the luckiest lady! Tuned DOWN to 650hp, holy smokes, and that gearbox singing was sublime.
A few days ago I was watching an interview with one of those responsible for developing this car, in the middle of the interview he said that they went over 390km/h in the tests, that he himself couldn't believe how incredible this car is, and that the F40LM in boost without the BOP of the races of the time it is even more impressive and even faster! I imagine what it must be like to give the maximum potential to a car like that!! Congratulations on the content and for being lucky enough to have this chance to drive this machine! The 288 GTO EVO, F40LM and the 250 SWB are my dream cars!!
The mother of the F40! How sweet is the racing gearbox continuous whin noise, louder than the engine sound 😊 This car was pure racing, no frills, period.
I've always loved the 288 GTO, but I had no idea this 288 Evolution race car even existed! Very awesome that you got the opportunity to drive a car that very few people know about.
I loved it. Tom Hartley was so worried that he must have changed his underwear after this drive. I was amazed that he trusted you to drive this unique car. I remember when this car came out. I was living in Milan and I only saw this car in magazines. This was a treat!
Wow Jodie, what a scoop! One of the most rare cars in the world!! Hated the gearbox noise then l realised it is a racing car! Shout out to Tom for letting you drive. Cheers, John.
It was for Group B circuit racing NOT rallying. This would have raced the Jaguar XJ220 and the Porsche 961. Porsche couldn't even sell any 961's as they were $350,000 and the most you could hope for at Le Mans would be 8th or spend $250,000 and have a 962 with the possibility of winning 😉
I love that we can see your Love for these cars Kidd. This channel is one of my fav's cause your heart shows in your passion for these amazing cars. Thank you for this.
What a great car! That is a special kind of honor to drive a rare car like that!! Kudos to Tom! BTW: If it doesn't go into gear, let the stick go (so it's in neutral), take your foot off the clutch, (that way the gearbox axel is driven, and the gearwheels turn) then clutch in again( hopefully aligning the gears correct), and then try putting it in gear again. That is fairly standard, in my opinion at least...
I have absolutely adored this car since i was a teenager when it first came out. So much so that i roasted a particular RUclipsr mercilessly for ignoring it while he was busy rhyming off the names of all the other Ferrai's in a collection. He took it well and admitted he wasn't aware of what it was or its importance (understandable), i am so glad its in the hands of Tom, a truly knowledgeable enthusiast. I only hope the new owner shares this car with world when he/she gets it. Honestly, hiding these things away, although understandable, is akin to putting the Mona Lisa in a private vault for nobody to appreciate, its that amazing!
Flippin eck - talk about nerve racking, and thats just watching can't imagine what its like to drive and those cluncks as you change gear- eek. Brilliant.
Jodie what a fantastic video, you really get to feel the pure rawness of the car. Thanks for sharing your experience with us. Did you get to sleep much that night? It looked like you were just getting used to it, so how about a Part 3... on a track? 😅
Absolutely brilliant !! I'm pretty sure Tom changed his underpants too.... what a super episode and big kudos to THJ, but you're a ace racer.... I reckon you really wanted to give it some but didn't want to embarrass Tom, he would've needed to change his jeans as well if you did........
I was with Wheel Torque on their Autumn Blast at Spa in 2001 & 2002. There was two of these there on track being driven properly. Was told by one of the owners there were 4 made ? Defo my favourite car ever since. Great to watch him get more and more scared as Jodie’s confidence grew. Best one yet

Wow,that's a great honour Jodie. Think Tom was understandably nervous! Reminded me when Tiff drove ex race McLaren GTR on public roads. Similar noises 🙂 As for rarity I compare it to the F50GT which was also only 3 in total! Been lucky to see both these Ferrari rarities over the years. Superb drive Jodie
Great test on the roads around Ashby. 👍 Some good pieces of tarmac I've hacked along in both my Elise and Evora. Sad to hear that THJ is leaving Ashby in the coming months I wish him luck with the move. I'm going to miss my supercar fix on my visits to Screwfix!

So much fun to be a fly on the wall to your extraordinary experience driving this weird unicorn. Looks like you had headroom for a tall-ish woman. Was the pedal box tight? And yeah, I'm sure you observed the "speed limits", lol.
4:00 'Do you mind not just pressing the 'over-boost, ok'?' My mind is thinking, 'he wants me to press the over-boost'. BTW, if you have never seen the short RUclips film called Overdrift (2007), watch it. Stupid funny! I'll never forget when the 288 GTO came out, it was perfect.
