What a beautiful old truck I am a sucker for these old F100. 😊
WOW. Great truck.
Wow! I can't believe you found a truck that nice...in a junkyard!! Good luck with her.
Nothing that nice exists in Michigan...they're all rot from the windows down.
😝
Salt is a religion here in the mitten lol
RedWings-44 ..... an old Ford like that went extinct in MICHIGAN long ago..😕
Hey Brother! You answered my prayer! You're a standout and the greatest at what you do. Thanks for the peace of mind!
She’s in real good shape
What a find.
I pretty much grew up with ford trucks, my dad had one for his work truck, replaced every few years.
300 six cyl and 4 speed transmissions.
I learned to drive on one.
I have a 67 F600, She is the queen of my stable.
Sweet Truck!
Love the vid. This type of love for old cars helps the nostalgia of 'Merica! I love old cars and America too
I really love it I have soft spot for the real ford trucks. Great safe
Holy smokes that's in real good shape! It won't take much to get that shining like a new penny.
What a sweet old truck! Nice score!
That old truck's as old as me and I'd say it's doing better than me. All looks to be in really good condition.
Really nice, good find!
Nice truck. Glad you found my smokes at 9:40.
Nice work man, ! I half expected u to say “well the back shelf.... is actually more of a line of old ford trucks parked out back”
All right man good to see your back
Buff the paint out! I would love to see it shine!! Beautiful truck
Nice video can't wait for more , you do a great job keeping the interest up.
That truck is mint!
1967 F100 heavy half was the first truck I purchased. Mine had a 352 and a three in the floor (not factory as it was in the column). I bought mine in 1996 for $600.00-I drove it 270 miles a week for three years. I hauled all of the materials I needed to finish building my second home-lots and lots, tons of materials; I hauled a pallet of tile that weighed 2300 pounds and it didn’t bottom out the axle. Anyway, I replaced the battery and starter for $75.00 (batteries used to be way less expensive), as well I purchased new four tires for 300.00. I sold the truck for $975.00. This truck was a fantastic investment, especially since gasoline only cost .75$ per gallon (I went 5 miles per gallon) up to about three months before I sold it. Increasing gasoline prices is the reason I sold it. Lastly, my doors closed with no effort, too. Enjoy this old workhorse!
Very nice that’s my dream truck, from Mexico 🇲🇽 😊
Love this era of Ford trucks!
Me two, I have 6 of these trucks. Lol
Gonna be better looking on that 4x4 frame for sure
‘Round here they call that a “rattle can rebuild”.
Cute little truck.
Since this truck dates back to my youthful wrenching. (got my license in 1958) I have a few memories which if correct, may well be of help. Generally speaking, all FE starters are 3 bolt, and internally the same. I would guess that you could take the nose off the bad three bolt and put it on the good 2 bolt? Never tried it, but maybe... As for transmission type, in the mid seventies, I transplanted a 390 engine from a Merc wagon, into a 67 Mustang, and was able to use all factory parts, which were available at your dealer then. I used the same starter, and installed a flywheel, engine plate, bell housing, pedals and so on from various cars in the junk yard. Also used a "rock crusher" 10 bolt top cover 4 speed. Only thing I had to have made was the drive shaft. Just couldn't find one that fit. Car had an 8" rear with 2.87 gears. I later changed out the center section for one with 3.80 gears. Sold the car before I broke the rear end! Was a lot of fun for a guy then into his 30s!
another ford Gem, lovely truck keep up the great videos mate .rt from australia..
Love seeing the old ford trucks being saved. Grew up dad had a 75 f100 4x4 360 4 speed. He had it for 20 years plowing snow and hauling firewood with it. He got it in 76 used and had it until 96. Dad drove it for 15 years on the road then the last 5 was just a plow truck. Dad did tell me about his 68 f100 2wd he had in Maine. He plowed snow with it with chains on the tires. Guess he got stuck once with it plowing snow. My parents moved to Michigan in 74 think it was. Sold his 68 to my uncle. I did get to see the 68 as it was sitting behind my uncle's house and last I knew it was still there. Can't remember what engine it had but it was a manual transmission. I hope myself to have a late 60s 70s ford pickup one day.
Brings back memories.. Dad bought a new 1968 4x4 1/2 ton.... I was 16 years old and took my driving test in it... Cheers; Mike in Louisiana
@Jeff Kopis Yeah but don't tell my wife.. Bwahahaha
Awsome truck😀👍
That thangs solid af
Lookin forward to this one! Don’t forget that old welder too!
nice-looking Ford wouldn't mind having that myself..
Nice unit looks good can't wait to see it up and moving real clean keep up the good work man
Great old truck. I had a 1970 F100 with the 360 and 3-speed manual. One of the favorite trucks of all time and I used it as a daily driver for over 10 years. I did rebuild the engine though. I had sat for many years in a carport and had low miles, but valve stem seals were shot. So, I decided to do a complete rebuild and glad I did for that old truck, even though it was old when I got it, carried me through 8 different states on the east coast and if you know NC, it takes more than a day to drive from the East end to the West end. I parked that old truck beside the Mercedes and BMW's in the Hyatt hotels more than one time. And, what heavy loads I could haul and that old 360 did not even grunt going 65 uphill on interstate. Enjoyed the video and keep those oldies going.
thats a nice truck indeed.
Nice solid truck. Get her going again! I’m sure she’ll be good to you. Looking forward to your next video.👍😎
Theres a 1976 Chevy 5/4 ton military truck id like to have. They all came with 350 Chevy small block,th350 transmission,np203 transfercases (full time 4x4),dana 44 front axle and a 14 bolt rear. And they are EMP proofed from the factory. Canada used these trucks
Very nice truck ! You did good ! Like the way you do your videos ! Thank you for sharing your journey with us !!! Be safe young man and God bless you and yours !!!!! Eddy. ( Virginia Mountains )
Wow! nice find! Great job and keep the videos coming!
Nice old truck.
I am not even 20 seconds into your video BACKYARD ALASKAN and I'm rooting for this truck!! WHAT A CREAM-PUFF... That front bumper is as straight as a pin. Love the way the driver door closes, almost as good as new!
Nice score on the Ford
The doors on my 65 Ford close nicer than any vehicle I ever owned and I have owned many. Passengers always think that they need to slam the door to make it close, but they barely need any effort.
Yeah that's definitely a sweet looking truck you don't find them like that except for in the interior of Alaska and Way Out West stay safe stay well and as always God bless. PS if you ever get a 96 four wheel drive Silverado to follow you home let me know
there is something about a honest 60's 70's pickup truck that is so appealing , just looks right :)
Great video
Had a 71 sport custom 3/4 ton with a 390 and it was a great truck! Like the looks of this one and it should make for nice work horse when finished!
Nice truck! I had one just like that, only mine was robin's egg blue ( light blue ) . Mine also had the 352V8 engine, with a 4 speed manual. That truck always started right up n ran good! Never had any starter problems the whole time I had it. I needed a more commute friendly vehicle, so I sold it. Looking forward to more videos! Wes 😎 in Oregon.
Nice old truck
I had a 68 F100 , three on the tree with a 240 six cylinder!
Nice truck man. I’d love to have one of those in 4x4.
This is way too clean for you😂
Howdy from the godforsaken deserts of Arizona! There is a trick to making the brake light go out. Proportioning valve has been tripped when light stays on. Shop manuals have a way that didn't work for me. Figure out which brakes still work, open bleeders & stomp brake pedal, It will make a bang when centering. I have had a 71 F-100 4x4 for over 25 years (lots of others in the interim). Great to see younger guys embrace the Made to last old vehicles. I am res-erecting a 1943 Ford Military GTB from 2 trucks so like your other trucks also.
Awesome! Thank you for the info. Very cool project you have!
nice pickup man
This channel is gonna get big! Love your uploads bud
I subscribed great videos bud
Nice old Ford! I really like that style! Im surprized its a automatic..
My recommendation, find a ‘73-77 F100 for parts and convert the front drum brakes to discs if you’re going to drive it regularly
You have a fleet of cool old trucks. I envy someone who has the space and spare time to make it happen. I really like the 1977 and older ford trucks.... they seem to have lost their way gradually after that. That’s just me.
That is a great find. Cool truck. That could possibly be your daily along side of your Dodge. You have cool trucks man.
If that is a 352 it may have the heart chamber heads on it , it is a FE block so it could be five deferent sizes.. Great find 👍🏻🦅🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Don't know what you paid but we folks here in the northeast would shoot at each other for one that solid. Nice find.
i can tell you the gas mileage now, 10 mpg loaded or empty up hill or down. dad @ i drove them, brother in law too. hauled fire wood, cows, calves, bulls you name it should fit right in with your collection. too bad you dont finish something first but like you said, just followed you home. thanks
I always thought them trucks were beast
Fiberglass the dash use a fleece blanket first layer it in resin after gluing it down to it the fiberglass matte on top after a few layers of resin and sanding the roughness down then sand it again all smoothe prime and paint it
First vehicle I ever owned was a 1967 F100 short bed with a 3 speed and a 351 (I think) engine. Was hard to keep rear tires on it cause the engine was so strong I kept lighting them up. Think I would put some of that 250 running gear in it and make it a 1967 hi boy. In any event a good find. Wish I could find me an old hi boy. I would get a second mortgage if I had to to buy it.
Well just look at it. It's got a chrome dip stick so it has to be rebuilt lol. Probably the best truck you own ehh.
nice rig! we have 69 F250
I had a 67 F100 4x4 with the same paint scheme till young me decided to wrap it around a tree
Nice truck to be 53 yrs old
Back when Ford made good trucks
You should take the 84 on an adventure
Very nice find and can't wait to see it run!!! how does a guy get an old Alaska licence plate??? Keep up the great work.
Thanks for watching! Check eBay, there's always Alaska plates on there for collectors!
Duct tape will fix that hole in the windshield and also add about 50hp. 👌👌 and what is that song at the end. Previous vid I clearly heard Blues Seranceno. Great taste in music
Drive shaft off?
At 3:48
Yes it is. Someone began pulling the automatic and never finished. It has problems I am told.
Being 3 bolt I'm 90% sure your gonna need a bent wrench , hmm 9/16" I think , been bout 45 years now.
Got two one is 9/16-5/8 & 7/16-1/2
Still sure it's 9/16. Them wrenches worth there weight in gold when ya need em. Back then was like 4$ for nice American made one. But when your gross wages was 106$ a week with 80$ take home pay .
Was a solid purchase .
Down here as she sets fetch 3-5k easy in that nice of shape .
My Dad had one just like this one. 352,C6. He passed when I was 15,and my Mom let me sell it for some reason. Wish I never had.
Young feller, I am having the time of my life finding out just what you do up the road from me I'd guess forty to more miles north of me here in wasisiphales town where keep it your pants if you value it does ring a bell hu?/LOL. I think thats a little gem of a truck... you have a few four wheel drive frames to choose from including a wild but doable put it on a military truck frame and dress it out... wouldn't make much sense to try to make a driver out of it if you did that as they suck gas and go forty... up hill, down hill and across swamps. I have a feeling that the previous owner is in mat/su pretrial or on the hill by now so just for jokes and humor, fix it as it is and just go get the family groceries..... I think that rattle canning over the hood and then buff it out might confuse the local cop as the previous might have had their attention for a while and they think he's back on the road again.
Will you be putting a topper on it and using it as a camper or a get around haul junk truck Never mind I finished watching the video it answered all my questions
Hey awesome find I am in Michigan and looking for one of those good original ones what is the most do you think you should pay for a non restored original no rust one?
Swap the nose cone & starter drive from the old starter to the new starter.
Don't have a cone from an FE.
@@BackyardAlaskan , sorry for my misunderstanding ! My grade-school teachers always commented on my report cards that my `listening skills` were always lacking when it came to instructions - apparently, I still retain some aspects of that characteristic fifty-something years later. Haha ! I enjoy watching your videos, though !
Subscribing !
👍
Second
I need that radiator for my 81 f 100
I'd guess there were never too many FE's with manual trans? Back then there weren't too many different starters between manual or automatic versions. Wouldn't the nose off the4 dead starter fit the broken one?
Lots of them were manuals. I have no old starter to use a cone from. Completely missing.
What do I do if my oil is the consistency of peanut butter is there something I can use to clean that out or do I just have to pull the whole motor apart????????????
Do they have a rebuild kit for that starter?
Top bolt is a genuine pain
You need a 12” 3/8 drive extension, changed starters on one i used to own many years ago. I got pretty good at it, would be done in 20 minutes
@@joetaylor2394 Agreed. I use a 1/4" with a flex ratchet. Works good for the top one.
Change the nose cone. Any Ford starter. Change the nose cone. It will fit the motor you are working on. I know first hand. Had a 302 79 half Ton. Starter from a 390. Changed the nose cone. I was Driving again. I Drive Fords.
Favorite year, now sell it to me...
On 67 the doors look identical but the hinges are diff width apart
Can you swap the nose section from the 69 to the newer starter?
I have a 69 f250. 103k miles.
6 and a 4 speed.
Found on CL with the wrong fone number...2700 buckaroos....most I ever pair for a car....😭😭😭😭😁
Do you ever sell any of the trucks?
Do you have the drive shaft?
What a nice truck..
Can you please add an email address in the description box so we can get in touch with you..
Why don’t you just swap the broken nose cone starter motor wit the 3 bolt nose cone ? The motors are the same. Cost you nothing!
I don’t have a 3 bolt cone around.
Tough break being way up north that NAPA gets $100 for a starter. I took it for granted that O’Reilly’s in Texas had them all day long for $45 and were always in stock
BackyardAlaskan thought you said there was a starter on one of those FE motors, but it was bad?
Didnt know there was a difference between manual or auto
That looks like either a 68, probably a 69, the taillight on a 67 were different and the tailgate looks like it's from a 1970'ish. The doors were from a 67/68, it looks like it has a lot of mismatched things, like the 8 lug bolt pattern on the rear axle and 5 on the front wheels.
You are all mixed up. It is a 67. Tailgate is 1968/69 Ranger with the chrome filler and Ford letters. The taillights could possibly be the newer style lenses. There were no reflectors below the taillights in 67. They got the side markers in the "bump" on the bed in 1970, and the reflectors below the taillights in 69. It does not have an 8 lug rear axle, both the front and rear are 5 lug.
@@BackyardAlaskan Time index 47 seconds looks like a free floating rear axle with an 8 lug pattern. Perhaps it's the dark wheel color...
