"Aliens flew out of the exhaust pipe when I started it, but that's kind of normal for these..." -- BackyardAlaskan Keep the videos coming, I really enjoy them!
I watch a lot of these revival channels. It amazes me that no one repairs their own starters. It's so easy to do, and usually without buying any parts. Even if parts are needed they are really cheap, Brushes and bushings are just a few bucks. The hardest part is turning the commutator, easy with lathe, but can be done with a drill press and emery cloth. Clean it all up and reassemble it'll work as good as new. In my younger days I never bought a starter, "I'm 73 now", and I just don't work on cars anymore. But if I had to do it I would, it's too easy to save that money.
I apologize to you sir, I didn't hear that it was missing. But really I was generalizing about all the channels I watch. Kudos to you for rebuilding your own.
No worries there, wasn’t trying to sound rude. Guess I didn’t mention that it was completely missing. I appreciate your comment. I agree, it’s a throw away society and people just buy new parts rather than repair the originals.
Oh man when you opened the door that sound brought back memories of my old 67. Wish Ford made trucks like that again. Sounds like you have an exhaust manifold leak.
Wait just one minute. Is this the right channel? That truck is like, mint condition! Love those old Ford starter relays. Just pull one wire and start the truck with a screwdriver.
Some great stuff !! Just keep being yourself and showing us what you like and we will like it too !!! Be careful young man and may God continue to bless you and yours !!!!! Eddy
Love your candor, and little sayings, it reminds me of a guy that was on Radio every day at 11 or noon called Paul Harvey, every Day for years , at the end of every show he would say , good Day. That was the end , good Day, you sound kinda like him , and say similar things kool thanks BigAl California.
That crew cab is awesome. I’m surprised you can find vehicles like this in Alaska. I can’t wait to see what you do with the crew cab. I wish I had land and the time to do what you do
You do a great job on your videos! I love the collection of vehicles. My favourites are the Ford highboy fleet. Those are a very rugged truck. Keep up the great work!!
steering wheels been changed my has the horn ring .Wow is the blue and white one saved from the dump Ethel's build lol Nice crew cab im jealous Highboy whole 9 yards like to see that one built
Picked up an 89 ford bronco a couple months ago , straight 6 with a a 5 speed ,just another winter project that might be a keeper .but I miss the 76 highboy most .thanks for shareing
Sounding good Brother! I appreciate how you go about your way to show us how you approach working on the toys to get them mechanically sound. Thanks Bro! Update: Wow! I got the big surprise from your other additions to your stable. You're living my dream!
@@BackyardAlaskan If you get the chance could you possibly get the part or model number for that blinker relay? I wonder if I could find one for my 69.
After seeing the other stuff you have, which is a treasure trove, it looks like the '67 would be your easiest project! I don't think I've seen one in such good shape. A little rust repair, paint and transmission and you've got a runner! If that engine was recently rebuilt, it shouldn't be too hard to get those upper exhaust manifold bolts off to fix the leak.
Glad you got the key working it would have been kinda rough to start tearing into it then find it wasn't in park lol no worry's man did it myself when I was young but I had to jack it up to get to the starter so when it started that big old Newport tried to back over me after it backed off the jack and cracked two ribs never did that again.
Dear Backyard Alaskan. 👍👌👏 Really great purchase! Congrats! Meanwhile I have watched some of your videos and I wonder why you always ignore engine misfiring? Also why you don't take out and clean/test the spark plugs. Thanks a lot for making teaching recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck health and wisdom.
awesome Ford pickup truck love them old vehicles . yeah I go with the manual just because I like to hear the rumble when you downshift . automatic okay I had them in a few trucks in mind but rather have manual and the way that truck sounds now I can just imagine going down the street rolling up to stop sign and downshifting and listen to that Rumble...hell yeah 👍 dude $500 WHAT you stole that motherfuker ..that was an amazing deal.

I didn’t have a starter with this truck, completely missing. I repair all my starters if I have one.

Awesome! These era trucks sure do have their own unique door sound. Best shutting vintage pickup doors ever.
I'd like to see the 67 running and driving with a new transmission. And maybe show the install of the transmission.👍

Love these old Fords. Hopefully I’ll find one I can get my hands on. 😊
Great score ! Chrome dipstick with the black tip is the same as used on 68 to 70 428 CJ motors. Just thought I'd mention it ;)
I like your truck fleet u now have more old fords than me

Nice CREW CAB!!!! would love to see what ever you do on it, even if it's just moving it around the yard!!

Cool great episode I like to see you make a good truck out of some of the parts you have four-wheel-drive specially the four-door that would be cool

Thank you!
Watching from the UK and love this truck. I just wish i could get one over here, but prices for these are ridiculous.
Its got key assisted oil pressure, shes a keeper!
God blessed you
Got the optional ford exhaust leak as well
Man that blinker is CLACKING!!! I can barely hear mine even with the windows up and stock 390 exhaust.
Right!! This is the loudest one I've ever heard.
@@BackyardAlaskan If you get the chance could you possibly get the part or model number for that blinker relay? I wonder if I could find one for my 69.
@@Jaugernaut4567 Sure, I'll shine a light up behind the dash and find it.

Good content young grasshopper
Good ole cherry bombs lol. Had those on my 77 f100.
Same exhaust leak as mine. I’ve put a dozen or more donut gaskets in. It’ll last a month or 2 then go right back to leaking.
Time to start planning some type of storage solution.

Oh man sounds of the 70s
