Hey Brother, I'm dealing with Military PTSD and effects from radiation from throat cancer. I truly enjoy your videos, they help me a lot with my mental. Ty 😊
I don't know how old you are but you remind me of being 18 working in the drive way fixing cars. So happy to see kids these days doing this. You're going places with that can do attitude. Keep it up.
Здравствуйте, уважаемый мастер! Очень приятно смотреть ваши видео, которые рассказывают о восстановлении старых классических автомобилей! Очень уважаю ваш труд! Жму вам руку! Огромный привет из России!
My grandfather had a '78 Ford F-250 camper special, with the round headlights most of my life. It was his work vehicle. He was a programmer, but often did side work and he purchased and renovated several old properties over his life. My grandfather is notoriously bad at maintaining his vehicles, and I don't ever recall him working on that truck. Never once failed to start or left him stranded. Unfortunately, once he retired the truck sat in my families yard for years and rotted badly. By the time i was driving age i asked if i could have the truck to restore for myself, but it was so rusted underneath it wasnt worth saving. Always loved this style of Ford though. Beautiful design. Great video.
You are a very considerate young man to fix the good ol truck for you neighbour whom had a little budget. I've bet every single viewer wishes we all had a kid in our neighbourhood like you. Stay well.
I love this kid. I love the lack of boisterous, voiceover narration. I love the lack of stupid loud, dramatic music. I wish you had an Amazon wishlist. I’d buy him a proper shop vac. Leave the house vacuum in the house! In an age, when many people get free money from the government for protesting anything, this kid has next to nothing and has 10 times the motivation even in cold weather. I never had kids my own, but this is my son.
Coming in late here. Had a 79, big six, four wheel drive, bought it new. I’m 70. That clacking noise is the exhaust manifold gasket. It was a THING for many of those. Not a fun fix. Another great video kid!
Wow. Young man I don't know who he was but he taught you very well. Hell I'm 52 and don't know half of that stuff. Great job you seem very knowledgeable around a old F150. I thought you bought it for yourself ...the way you treated it. It's nice to know there's still young men interested in auto mechanics. You would be amazed and saddened at how many 25 yo men don't know how to change a tire...let alone the oil to their own car or truck. I was taught bare bones basic tune up skills back when oil came in cans... ,filters , trany fluid, tire & oil changes, filters, Basic lamp replacement. How to properly air up your tire using a air gauge etc... Hell even drive at 11 y.o by my Dad RIP I love him for teaching me that I can teach my son. Keep up the good work & teach anyone who wants to learn.
I'm blown away somebody your age even knows what a "3 on the tree" is, better yet drive one like it's second nature!!! Glad to see old school rarities won't be completely lost. Keep up the amazing videos.
P.S. That’s a very nice looking American Classic Pickup. We are very proud of your accomplishments! Truly enjoyed watching it. A lot of hard work filled with determination and fortitude, not giving up. Job well done!
I really enjoy your videos. I watch a lot of car channels, your camera work is by far the best. Love the basic tools, love no talking but still have the sound of the environment. Keep it up, love it.
I enjoyed watching, learning some of your mechanical skills. My daughter and I had purchased a 1972 Ford 360 ci, Custom Camper A/T, 3 speed, two tone, with 8 foot bed. I have shared your channel with several classic car clubs I belong to here in southwestern Idaho. Miss living in Wisconsin. Keep it up. Great informative and helpful video. Good encouragement to so many. 👍🏻🛻👍🏻⛽️👍🏻🛞🏎 Be blessed. 👍🏻😎🙏🏻✝️🇺🇸
Had the exact type truck, same color, year, same running boards , same mirrors but auto. Every seal leak by the time I sold it but put over a 100K for a total of around 220K. Could not kill the 300 and it was quick.
I have watched several of your videos----can't seem to help but be amazed at your talent! Also, LOVE the straight-forward details without mindless music or talking. Keep it up!
Hello Simon, I discovered your channel this week, congratulations on the work and idea, really the 70s style and the way you put effort into your work brings an incredible sense of reality to the day of a good man, with so little and so much willpower you share excellent methods and attention from a mature professional, watching you reminds me of the 3 years I lived and worked hard in the USA, from coffee in the morning and the maintenance on my Pathfinder 97 that I had, there were moments of great struggle with that car, I'll never forget it, I spent 3 days and 3 nights trying to get the engine back to normal after changing the water pump, I ended up taking the engine out of sync, thanks to a friend of mine Joel, one of the best mechanics I've ever met, helped me with those days and information from my great Uncle miles away we managed to make the repair, so again congratulations on Canal as there are many like you who fight bravely every day, may God bless all the boys like you and these great automobiles that have marked our lives! !!!!
Hola, me encanta este canal , eres un buen chico tu dedicación en cada reparación es admirable, mucho exito en tu canal. Saludos desde São Paulo Brasil.
Decades ago; I removed the 1V carb on my 1978 F-150 RCSB 4x4 and installed an 2V adapter to the 300 ci L6 intake manifold and installed a Holley 500 cfm 2V carb. and the engine was not cold natured anymore, it had so much more get-up and go, it was like a different truck with the 2 barrel carb. Later I installed smaller 350 cfm jets in the Holley 2V and the engine still idled smother than with the 1V carb did and my fuel mileage returned to 15 mpg.
Felicitaciones. Sos un genio que con tan poco y mucha dedicacion y cariño le devolves la vida a lo clasico. Camionetas hechas para toda la vida. Saludos desde Argentina.
killah/Killah/KILLAH vid. Thank you for your efforts and sharing w/ us... I got me a '79 Ford F-100. Bought in '81. 302 w/ C6 tranny. Lariat. Engine rebuilt w/ 9K now and C6 overhaul. New steering gear box. New Master cylinder/booster. Carb' overhauled. Muff' and cat' guud. Still tweaking for optimum performance. Thank you .
My first vehicle. Mine had the rectangular headlights, they were optional in 1978. The original owner's dad owned several logging camps and he ordered it directly from the Dearborn factory, flew down to pick it up then drove it to Seattle and barged it up to Wrangell, Alaska which at the time was the lumbar capital of Alaska and the base of the family business. 4:38
Had a ‘78 work truck years ago. 302 3 speed with OD (a very tall final drive made it only useful over 65). Regular leaded fuel, ‘78 was the last year. Excellent truck, blue chip FoMoCo. I see the rig was plated WI, from my side of the river…. Can’t blame your seeming preference for I6s, nice to wrench on.
Just started watching your channel. I am a big fan of the no commentary actually. One cheap tool I recommend for ya is a bigger hammer! Not a big investment and it would help you enormously on the two videos I have seen. Especially when you are doing the ball joints and such. Nice work on the trucks !
Cool truck. Love the blue colour. It's a nice model. Personally I prefer the other grill stile,(which can be swapped) but this stile is not bad at all.
Another totally enjoyable programme/video. Once again, superb filming angles and a sense that "no problem's too big". Seeing you work patiently & precisely and the job getting done is immensely satisfying. Oh, another thing: I notice you have a preference for manual gearboxes over slushboxes...that's very cool. Cheers from the UK.
Good channel no music just plain wrenching budget restoration that we can all relate to....no bullshit.... well done young man....
And no daily V logs that no one cares about. This channel is so good 👍

The days when you could actually sit in the engine bay. Loved the size of these trucks.

Stay well.
But do him another favour and throw those wheel covers in the trash, then paint the wheels,it will look amazing
The production value of that last drive sequence was phenomenal!
Whoever has you as a neighbor or friend, can him/herself very lucky! Greetings from Cologne Germany, Klaus

Just watched two videos of yours for the first time, already a huge fan. Great work and great videos. Keep it up man!
Hey Simon that was really awesome how the motor started after the second ignition spark. The oldest F150 were increible trucks, thank for share it!
Coming in late here. Had a 79, big six, four wheel drive, bought it new. I’m 70. That clacking noise is the exhaust manifold gasket. It was a THING for many of those. Not a fun fix. Another great video kid!
Love your shooting style. Sequence in the junkyard was amazing. Some great camera angles. Of course the content is super cool too!
A man of few words with great ability. Thanks for showing us all your hard work.
My first vehicle was a white 1978 F 150, long bed truck. I drove that truck in high school 1981-1984.
I restored a 79 loved that thing, took 2 years got! Got it off a farm, this brings back memories!❤
Wow. Young man I don't know who he was but he taught you very well.

This was so cool I didn't want it to end! Lovin those big old engines.
Nice work there! I have a 78 the same color, it's great to see a young man take some interest in saving the old iron. 😊
Redid my ‘79.. best investment I ever made absolutely love it ..runs great.,👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
I'm blown away somebody your age even knows what a "3 on the tree" is, better yet drive one like it's second nature!!! Glad to see old school rarities won't be completely lost. Keep up the amazing videos.
3on the tree was the toughest son of a gun transmission in my opinion.
@@zaffvideos5688 Yeah, hard to speed shift too
My son, Axel and I love watching your videos! Thank you for the knowledge
The BEST repair video I have ever watched on RUclips. The lack of chatter is welcomed.
Seriously Simon's best video. The cinematography was insane. Such a cool truck to get back into the game!
"The meticulous work and patience have given this car an entirely new look, I’m beyond impressed!"
Hitting starter with a hammer….been there. Great post!
My man just pressure washed the inside of his truck cab. I love it.
I can't wait to get my hands on one of these trucks. Love the no commentary.
A strong brake drum puller helps so much. good job great channel!
Been there with the break booster pin! What a PIA, I fought with it too. Good stuff, have a 78 f150 long bed custom, love it..!
P.S. That’s a very nice looking American Classic Pickup. We are very proud of your accomplishments! Truly enjoyed watching it. A lot of hard work filled with determination and fortitude, not giving up. Job well done!

Good job Simon & you make a very good Video with no Music & no needless talking 👍
Love your videos. No useless banter just teaching by doing and watching.
Just something about making a rusty old truck functional again that makes me feel good. Thanks.
A nice form of films without talking. I like your approach to these classics. Thanks for saving them, they deserve it...
The way the kid looks and dresses looks like he just dropped in from the 1970’s. The only thing missing would be Lynard Skinner playing on the radio
Nothing wrong with that.
Simple Man…
Obviously not a Lynyrd Skynyrd fan or you'd know how to spell the name. I call BS and FAKE!
DUDEZILL!, I TOTALLY agree with ya!!!! Ronnie, Steve , and Cassie are spinning in their graves right now....@@glennstatham960
The AMC hubcaps definitely are trash (any hubcrap is trash)

300 inline 6 in my opinion is the best engine ford made. 351 windser 2nd best.
I really like your channel keep up the great work.

These should be featured at the Cannes film festival . Absolutely amazing director of photography
All this content is so fu☆☆☆☆g cool. I simply love every minute of every video.
You should be really proud of youself man, that truck is sick!
Good video! Love mine. Even though mines a 79 with the 351. Inside and out, they’re the same trucks. Thanks for sharing.
Just timeplusmoneylotsofpatiants❤😂
I enjoy your videos. Nice and quiet and not a lot of noise trying to impress viewers. You're like the Hiku of RUclips car guys!
Gosto muito dos seus vídeos,e gosto muito de carros antigos 👍
Rather have a needle in my seat than have to rebuild a carburetor. Nice job of bringing this truck back.
Hola, me encanta este canal , eres un buen chico tu dedicación en cada reparación es admirable, mucho exito en tu canal. Saludos desde São Paulo Brasil.
Some epic shots you get with close ups and such. Well done!!! Very entertaining
Great work Simon, always enjoy your projects and your approach. Spannering at its best!
Gotta love the forty miles of speaker wire
So good, love the stock Ford trucks. Low budget trucks are my favorite. Nice work on the video and the truck.
This is amazing. I hope someday i can have the opportunity and knowledge to do this. Its also so kind that your doing it for a neighbor!
I bought a truck brand new just like that . The 6 cylinder and the 3 on the tree. Brings back memories. Thanks 😂
I had a 1976 F-100 4x2 RCSB 300 ci L6 3 on a tree, no power steering or power brakes either. it did have the Limited Slip rear diff from factory.
killah/Killah/KILLAH vid.
Thank you .
I liked that and since I have a 78 F250 i6 sitting in my yard it was fun to compare. The outro was really good!

78-79 is my dream truck. Something about them
I love the creative application of the claw hammer and screwdrivers. I feel justified.
Awesome video man. Finding your channel has renewed my faith in RUclips and a few other things

You're amazing!
Love this format. Great work, sir.
A good truck buy, a 300 motor and straight shift with a good base body to restore!
Those side vent windows bring back fond memories.
I love me some side window ventilation!
I love this truck.

Not a big investment and it would help you enormously on the two videos I have seen. Especially when you are doing the ball joints and such. Nice work on the trucks !
Thanks! After one of my later videos, I got a lot of comments about the hammer. I got a bigger one!
If I was in your side of the Pond I definitely buy and reward one of your spirited conservation works
Simon Çok Güzel Bir İş Çıkarıyorsun Eline Emeğine Sağlık.
You are a talented mechanic my friend
Очень интересный канал, продолжайте молодой человек, у вас талант!😊
Cool truck. Love the blue colour. It's a nice model. Personally I prefer the other grill stile,(which can be swapped) but this stile is not bad at all.

Nothing better than a long haired mechanic. That was me 40 yrs. ago and still is. lol
Boy your watch is amazing, got so much beating but still working.
FYI, NAPA carries shims for those starters, I had the same issue with mine hitting the flywheel.
Merhaba Simon, seni izlemek dinlendirici ve öğretici. Türkiye’den selamlar 🖖
Another great video. Nice job!
Haha man three on the tree is a handful the first time for sure
Gr8 truck. I had a 78 with a 300. Loved her
Please be a 300 with the three on the tree. Yes!
Great Video, When vehicles were simpler to work on
Nice work there!
