I've finally gotten around to fixing some of the rust on my 1983 F250. I had no idea how bad the floors were when I got the truck, then I found out that they were made mostly of fiberglass, which had started to deteriorate over time. I purchased all the patch panels from LMC truck, it came to something like $230 which was well worth it. I still had to make up a few pieces here and there. If you're wondering what I'll do about the rust on the rest of the truck, I only planned on patching the cab. I love your videos. I have been in your shoes. Check out the Harbor Freight pneumatic hole puncher/flanger. It's about $50. It will change your life for these sheet metal repair jobs. Oversize your patch. Flange the edges. Punch holes. Use self-tapping screws to hold it all tight together. Plug weld. Primer, seam sealer. It's faster and cleaner. Trying to weld up 1/4" gaps is no fun. Well done, guy. 💪🏻

Those were truly awful bikes. I had that exact model AND a CL350. The top ends seep oil within 20K miles as did MANY air-cooled bikes of the era. To their credit, they did not blow up. It was a different time. I don't know why anybody would WANT a bike of that era in this modern age.
