Hey Rachel! The fact that you didn't have your shit together right from the get go and are now getting in the groove, is the reason i love your updates. I totally feel like my story will be more like yours so I am watching and learning. TY! Protect the mane... and BTW you look good with your hair up. :)

Rachel, stalls/plateaus are a normal part of the journey. Just keep up the good work and the weight loss will resume. Don't get discouraged! Remember, it's a journey not a race. Slow weight loss is good because if you loose too fast, it increases the likelihood of regain. Ohhhh gurllllll... the hair loss is totally normal. I find hair all over EVERYTHING! Oooo... Rachel glitter! Lol! I waited until I was a year out before I got highlights again. Rest assured, you'll still have plenty of hair. It does grow back.

For the hair loss, you can get a volumizer/integration piece or a wiglet to fill in any missing or thin areas (a full wig may be too much). Love the "Rachel glitter"! Too cute! Love the t-shirt, too! The weight loss will come just like it did last time. I know it's frustrating. Your face is looking much thinner, though, so it must be coming off you from somewhere since you HAVE started building a bit of muscle (yes, I agree that it sounds like just as much of a cop-out as my clinic changing the calculations for how much I should have lost in my first month and then saying my face looked thinner...even though it did...and so does yours...but still....). It WILL happen, though. xxx

Oh my god has it really been 14 weeks already?! YES, so happy that you've got your water, protein, vitamins & exercise all sorted!! That's it, that's all you need to worry about hun; you just can't fail with a winning combination like that! I know we're all so used to failing our 'diets' or putting the weight back on afterwards but you've got a lasting technique now, with your surgery tool (RNY) and what you've already learned you can only succeed - REALLY
Working out and sticking to your food, water & vitamin intake is the best thing you can do; you'll want to build as much muscle as possible to help you get through the loose skin issue as you progress.
Rachael glitter! hahahahaha Love it! Keep shining beautiful
    Love to you & Louis
    Wendy xx

Thanks Wendy, you are always so lovely and supportive!! You're right, I just need to keep focused and doing what I'm meant to and I'll start seeing the results again soon. Feel free to virtually bitch slap me if I'm back moaning on my next weekly update!!
Lots of love your way xxxxx

+RAH CREATE hahaha! I'll tell you what; you can virtually bitch slap me too when my moaning time comes!
P.S if you see this exact same comment from an Andrew Holmes in your email notifications he's not some sleezy stalker who wants to bitch slap you; he left his login open and I didn't realise I was commenting from his RUclips login LOL! That could really get a guy in trouble :-O
Lots of love right back at you xxxxx

Hi Rachel! I came across your channel just last week and I'm now a new sub. I find your videos relatable because you are still currently going through it. Most videos I come across are from years ago and since I'm a month away from my own Gastric Bypass, it helps to keep me motivated and excited about it all, in a way. I'm still debating if I want to vlog my experience. It makes me nervous but I also feel like maybe it's a way to hold myself accountable after. Anyway. Keep up a good work! You can rock this!

Geez girl your face just from last week to this week has slimmed even more! I am convinced that stalls mean inches lost lol. I stalled from week 9-12 pretty bad but can see a difference in my waist again. I hope your stall breaks soon! I finally had Aunt Flo visit and that actually got the weight moving again. How weird. I hope the hair loss doesn't get to awful for you! And I love the shirt!!! I need to start working out more also!

+RAH CREATE I have no idea how I have managed to avoid this part of the WLS experience. I made a Pinterest folder of cool skinhead girls, Chelsea cuts and pixie crop dos in order to plan what to do when the time came, but it still hasn't happened.
I wonder if it's because I had lost weight slowly beforehand and lowered BMI before the op so I didn't have any sudden dramatic dips?? I've been talking Biotin for over a year which general improved the thickness and strength of my hair. Could be that? It's really odd and I feel a bit guilty!

Always love seeing your face! You're going to be a beautiful bride. I'm worried about the hair loss too. At least we know Louie will have a beautiful mane! Ha! I was convinced, I mean CONVINCED that I was done losing weight. There's no reason why this works for everyone else and it won't work for us. Lots of love!

Hair loss is no joke!!! I'm only a week and a bit into it and OMG it's making me paranoid! But it won't last long so long as I keep up my end of the deal. Mwaha I should knit Louis a blonde wig or something out of all my glitter!! Love you xxxx

Oh sweet Rachel - I feel like you took the words out my mouth. I think I just about cried in the shower this week as the hair just kept coming out of my head. :( How do you like working out with a personal trainer? I'm not sure I want to spend the money on it, but I feel like it would help droves. You are looking great despite the icky stall!!

Argan rain products.. This is the best hair care product I have ever seen in my life. You just have to try it and see the difference, after that you will be the next person to addicted to it. My hair loss stopped, my hair getting stronger and shinier.

I swear we are twins lol Everything about the hair loss, washing every 3-4 days, pulling it up daily is ME! Except my BF didn't call it "SJ glitter". Instead I got, "Your hair is all over the bed" with a screwed up face and mine was beat red as I scrambled to pick it up and put it in the trash and told him to stop pulling it so hard ;) Deflect and moving on! lol
Great job working out. Awesome job with the vitamins. Your cheekbones are becoming so pronounced now. You are so freaking pretty! Double fingers to the scale. I feel ya. xx

Hey Rachel! Don't worry about the hair loss! Fun fact is that people only typically lose 10-15% of their hair after RNY MAX! So it may feel like more, but in reality, you really aren't losing that much :) Also it will totally come back by your wedding, but if not, that's why God invented extensions!!! Go for the weave ;) Also i've found that the front of my hair is breaking off so I've *stopped* wearing it back because it pulls on the front -- so maybe if you're breaking off in the front, wearing it down more may help! Great job keeping up with working out!!!! Thats one of my huge goals this week so thanks for the extra inspiration :)

Finally caught up on all your videos! I've been watching for about a week or so now lol. You've been doing awesome on your journey!! Sorry to hear about the hair loss, is it possible for you to take biotin or some type of hair skin & nail vitamins? I'm not sure if it's possible with wls but I'd recommend them if so! Hypothyroidism has effected my hair & skin severely but biotin has worked wonders.
Doesn't matter how long it's taken you to get where you are, you're here now! Keep pushing! Weight loss is all about consistency. Push through the moments where it feels like a waste, the hard work & dedication always pays off!
P.S. - congrats on your engagement! And your tours showed me that I really need to visit London!

Hey chickie! My dietician said the hair loss commences at about month three because your hair follicle takes three months to register the changes in your diet. So three months earlier, you decreased your intake, to very minimal; and now that you are getting all of your vitamins, protein etc in, your hair will regain its strength and start to replenish. So you should have your luscious locks back well before your special day! Yippee! :)
    Rachel glitter - bless him

Nice to find your videos. I had GBP 18-01-2016, biggest weight 146 (1,5 years ago), now 120,5. Almost same with you. So that is sure I start to follow your journey. I have heavy hair loss too, even proteins are ok, just check them in blood check last month. Now taking , extra biotin because of that, but that it would affect I know it takes time. Hellos from Finland, Europe!! (Y)

I promise, it's not a cop out! Building muscle that replaces fat will make the scale not move. BUT then you'll start burning more fat. Plus it takes up less room I bet your measurements will change this week. Remind me I said this when I'm complaining about my stall! 😉

I am so sorry for the hair loss, but it will eventually subside. I have thin hair so the loss will be rough.

I did see a video that suggested hair washing is helpful when there is hair loss as washing stimulates the blood flow and stimulates new growth. Not sure how accurate this is, but it was a WLS surgeon saying this. Might be worth looking into?

I know the pain with the hair loss sweet I don't know if I should cut mine or not I'm to scared. I'm washing mine less too I've started taking biotin I think it's helping a tiny bit but not sure. Stools are not good they mess with your head. To be fair when I excersise my weight messes up but we're helping our body's by working out xxx

      @RAHCREATE  8 лет назад

Omg I just saw your reply that your coming to London and I'm gutted cause I will be in Prague most of that week!!!!!! 😢
I'm taking biotin but from what I understand that will only help stimulate growth rather than prevent the loss... I think that might all be down to the protein!! It's soooooo depressing though!!!
You're defo right... we're doing our bodies good by working out but it's hard to keep that in focus when the scale stops! xxx

If I start getting more facial hair I will stop it 🙈 lol xxx
