At this point I’ve seen 100’s of videos about bariatric surgery. I’ve got to say that coming across your videos today has been a real treat. Thank you for sharing. My surgery is about 12 days away. Your videos have given me an extra comfort that I didn’t even know I needed.

I’m only 40 minutes into this video and I had to pause it to come and comment. I’m unspeakably grateful for this video. I was exactly like Tracy and was full of fear, but now I’m not. Surgery in six days. This was like sitting in a room with two people who loved me who were reassuring me and talking me through it. Thank you so much. I’m now looking forward to my life change.

Hi there . I just found your channel , and yes my only complaint was I wish I did it sooner lol ! I cancelled my surgery twice because I was beyond scared .It took me 5 years to commit . What a waste !! I’m 65 now and I had Rouxny 5 1/2 years ago . I started at 235 and lost 105 pounds . I’m only 5’2 !!im so happy I did it but now comes the crappy part….. I was fine until covid . I made banana bread and started drinking wine ( never drank much before) so I slowly gained 12 pounds . Now I’ve gained 30 pounds all together and am desperate to loose it . I have a bad problem of not wanting to eat until later evening ….. bad bad bad ! So I cut down on the wine and started Ozempic ( I figured if it’s good for Oprah , it’s good for me lol ) so here I am 3 weeks into Ozempic and my fear is real once again hoping it’s going to work . Don’t have big side effects yet just a bit nauseous sometimes and have some acid issues . Hopefully it will subside . Sorry I talk so much but I’m sure you and your lovely wife understand totally . Good luck on your life journey 😘Happy to have found you both .

Wow okay I've been looking for people with IIH who also had bariatric surgery.
    I am looking into surgery.
Did you get any flairs due to losing weight quickly?
    Did it affect your IIH?
I also have a chronic illness (my Dr. thinks I may have ME too, but I think it may just be from my chronic daily migraine) anyway, it's awesome to hear someone who has a similar situation to mine going through this.
    Thank you!

I didn't have any flares due to the quick weight loss, and it did help resolve the IIH. Haven't had any severe headaches since I had the surgery. Doesn't work for everyone, but it did for me.

I keep asking myself, if this operation is a lifestyle change, why am I doing the op? What is the op doing that I can’t? Do I need half my stomach removed to prevent me from eating the wrong foods especially since I don’t really have a problem with portion control. So many questions…. 😞

How tall are you? There's a difference between 5'2" and 6'2". Will you need skin removal surgery? Did you try Carnivore before surgery? I was obese for about 6 months.. then went carnivore, lost 60 pounds and know I can keep it off because I'm never hungry always satisfied. Just curious.

My wife has maintained a loss of about 120 pounds and looks great; she has very little loose skin. I had some regain the past couple of years but have also managed to keep off 120 pounds and am started to lose again. When I was at my lowest after losing about 200 pounds I was just starting to notice a little loose skin on my belly, but it wasn't super dramatic--I mostly just looked a little pudgy in my midsection.

I know I've never weighed 300 lbs but I'm curious as to being okay with 182. I know you said losing to 160 and gaining back to 175 you would be okay. I weighed 193 at 5'6 and in the process of getting to 145. My goal is to go to the doctor and not have "obese" written in my file because at 185 and 5'6 I am obese. Hopefully, I will get to 145 to 150 and maintain it. I was small as a teenager. Weighed between 110 and 115. Does it bother you that at 182 your doctor will still label you as obese? It drives me nuts to know someone who wouldn't know my weight loss journey and saw my file stating I'm obese it's like flashing red lights in my mind. Congratulations though on what you and your husband have accomplished so far.

Even my beloved tea and boy did I love my tea! I stitched to water. Funny I went back to sugar but never back to my tea. I wanna quut sugar again I know its bad for me, but it's definitely addicting! It is a common complication. It happens to about 3-5% of gastric bypass patients. Crossing my fingers I'm in the 95-97% that don't develop it.
