@@Noirlore Another reason why I said that is, I was watching a video where they showed how M3 chip isn't able to work at it's 100% capability as enough RAM is not available, whenever requirment arises. Basically by limiting RAM, the processor also get's capped. Anyways, I have ordered Air with 16Gigs. My heart broke after seeing the display comparison in this video. 🥲 It costed me $1990 here in India. Still not that good of a display with high contrast compared to pro. Asus laptops with less than half the price of this has better display I guess.

14" is really the sweet spot/ largest I'd wanna travel with all the time. I owned an m2 air 8/512 for about 6 months before upgrading to the 18/512gb m3pro. I loved the size ad weight of the air and the biggest difference with the pro would be the overall weight. I do appreciate all of the other upgrades that come with the pro though.. especially the extra ports.. really everything on the right.. That extra usbC port really does come in handy; and active cooling. I like me a good display as much as the next tech guy but I honestly don't notice much of a difference between the two in this dept.. and I do a decent amount of photo editing and media consumption with my laptops. There's very little difference unless you've got them side by side and pay more attention to contrast and dimming zones than the actual content. Yes the MBP has better blacks but I really didn't see much beyond that and I was looking close when I still had both machines in front of me. 120hz is nice as well but I really don't find it as noticeable as I do on an iphone with pro-motion.

I made the switch from the 15" M2 Air to the 14" MBP M3 Pro last week, so this is all very fresh. My first thoughts were that the MBP feels heavier and chunkier, the trackpad much smaller, so side-by-side, I wasn't sure I was making the right choice. But the MBP has 18GB memory vs the Air's 8GB (both have 512SSDs), and I noticed the difference immediately when running Windows 11 in Parallels (the only speed issue I ever had). This was the main deciding factor, though the extra ports and the fact it fits into my backpack more easily definitely helped with the decision. Both are great, for sure.

I am a Graphic Designer and a Photographer from India who works on multiple layers in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom Classic, Figma and Canva, also I am planning to start learning video editing using Adobe's Premier Pro or Davinci Resolve and motion graphics using Adobe After Effects.
Currently, I am using an AUS ROG Zephyrus G14 from 2020 with 16 gigs of memory and 1 TB of storage (this is the base model btw which has a Ryzen 5 4600 HS CPU and a Nvidia GTX 1650 ti GPU).
I usually have multiple apps running and this is how it might look on average:
    1. Photoshop
    2. Illustrator
    3. Figma (along with Photoshop on rare scenarios)
    4. Lightroom Classic (sometimes along with Photoshop)
    3. A browser (2 different ones like Brave and Firefox sometimes),
    4. Apple Music,
    5. Windows file explorer (4 to 5 tabs),
    6. A communication app (like Slack or Teams) and
    7. Notion.
So now can you tell me whether a person like me can get away with a decently specced Macbook Air (like a 15-inch model with 24 gigs of memory and 1 TB of storage) instead of a much more powerful Macbook Pro?

When the M3 MBP came out, I considered it to just exist as a stepping-stone to make people get the M3 Pro MBP. But now I have to say that it's placed really well in Apple's product lineup. Same goes for the MBAs: Want something thin, they're for you. Nevertheless, I wouldn't get any of those two machines. Instead, I'd go for a refurbished M1 Pro or M2 Pro MBP 14", and I'd probably get more RAM and/or storage for the same money, and probably better performance most of the time as well.

    1. Display quality - (If I choose 13" MBA its not much more noticeable & not major advantage)
    2. Display promotion 120hz & mini LED - Yes, It's should be a major advantage
    3. About fan - It's had a only one small fan
    4. About ports - It's just had HDMI & SD card slot, not had extra thunderbolt its not enough we must buy a dongle anyway (If I buy MBA 13" & a proper dongle this issue is gone)
MBP Overall the only advantage is display quality but price is more expensive for only that.
If I choose 13" MacBook Air & buy a dongle is much more cheaper than that 14" MBP. And 13" MBA also had two external display support.

Im still more than happy with my M1 512 with the extra GPU core! Still a little beast and I run Indesign, Photoshop, Aftereffects and Illustrator and she don't struggle at all! Yes the new ones are obviously faster but if you compare the increases we got from the last Intels to the M1, it was a 500%+ performance increase. From the M1 to the M3, its only a 50-60% increase. I still got about 4 years of support, everything runs super smooth, just remember to keep apps and software upto date and its peachy! The ONLY thing I regret is not getting more RAM. 8 gigs is really borderline, 16 would have been peachy, but still, I haven't run into any problems that weren't fixable. All in all I am really, really happy with my M1, the best tech purchase I have ever made, and thats coming from a die hard Windows fan! Still am, but the Macbook Air M1 has forever changed my view on Apple! Cant praise this little monster of a laptop enough!

Why is the MacBook Air still a product label? Call it MacBook. The banding scheme was MacBook and MacBook Pro. The air was introduced as an extreme portable MacBook and you paid a premium for it. If there’s no cheaper bulkier option that could fit into a place of “MacBook” then just drop the air and call it MacBook like it always used to be.
