Devo "the cursed" (the stand user) is a reference to the homonym band, therefore his name was changed to Soul Sacrifice (a Santana song) in the localized version (Ebony Devil, his stand, comes from the tarot card of The Devil). Also, Ebony Devil's possession of a doll may have been inspired by the horror film "Child's Play", and he resemble a Nuragic bronze statuette. In the last scene of Joseph trying to see DIO in the manga, there are some TV show references like Marlon Brando (from the Godfather), MTV and the movie Pet Sematary, that were removed in the anime. Can't wait for next episodes!
