Congrats on the double prediction! I think both were well deserved. I haven't read Doppelganger yet but my partner enjoyed it and I hope to check it out at some point, and a few other of the non-fiction nominees. Next year I may try to follow those more closely too... looking forward to hearing your thoughts if you get to some of them too :)
I've read four of the shortlisted NF books and they were all great. Doppelganger and Code Dependent are the ones that are more "current affairs" and dialogue starters, or part of an important discourse, so I figured one of them for the win (and probably the famous one). Code Dependent is actually an easier read than Doppelganger, but Doppelganger is pretty unique and will give you so much to consider!
I predicted both winners, too, but my heart was with How to Say Babylon for the nonfiction prize. Still, I enjoyed every book on the NF list and would have been happy with any of them.

Congrats on predicting 2 for 2! I’m very pleased to see Brotherless Night win both the Women’s prize and the Carol Shields.

What impressive predicting 🎉🎉
❤
I think those were two good choices🎉
They were! I was skeptical about Doppelgänger but after reading it, I totally get it!
