Ive just bought a 2014 2.4 accord estate in a rare manual version. For the past four years I have driven the older cl9 2.4 type s models which were fab!! I can honestly say that I am gobsmacked at the level of quality from the 2014 Accord. The handling has also surprised me as its very tight on the road and handles very very well. These cars are a well kept secret. Great cars!!!
fantastic car indeed, I have a similar facelift manual estate. Try using the Honda 0w20 type 2.0 engine oil - the car responds very well and it even stopped the vac actuator noise I rarely had before
Thanks for the review!! I love the Lexus IS250 (emotional decision), interior is amazing, and reliable, but is small compared to Accord, older models (IS) don't have 60/40 seats, the acceleration is not good for a V6, and taller people don't fit well, because with 6 feet tall, my head touches the ceiling and direct injection problem... Accord may be the rational decision because is a little bit bigger (space), has good trunk size, has good fuel economy, is good for taller people and I prefer FWD...
I am downgrading from Lexus IS300H (2014) soon, and 2.4 Auto Accord has caught my interest. It should be cheaper to run (fuel + VED) , but at the expense of RWD and cabin noise. Should be roomier too.
Looked at a 2016 is300h before deciding on a 2.4 accord from 2009,what made you do the switch?Heard the 300h is pretty good, too bad for that cvt transmission noise ,but the interior is amazing imo.
Cool, you always compare the cars I am interested in buying! Lexus should have sold the IS350 in Europe as RWD / AWD. Juding from the Toyota/Lexus YT channel "The car care nut" says that one is the best to buy. It is also very fast! The IS250 had direct port injection which causes carbon build up. Other than that superb car. The Accord is very good, the steering is a bit too light for my taste. The 7th gen 2003-2007 was a beautiful car but even lighter in the steering and these had issues with the steering pump (O-ring or complete unit - causing foam in the system). Some 8th gen and CR-V are effected too. Keep up the video's! PS wear a jacket that does not make that creaky noise al the time 😉
Thank you. I do wonder if they revised the steering on the facelift models as it definitely has more weight to it than the earlier models. An IS350 would be a hell of a car as would a J series Accord !
@@tommyzoo There is a USA Accord for sale near my house with the 3.5 engine, but I would opt for the Legend because it is on another level. Can't seem to find the right trim and mileage, they are sought after on mainland Europe.
The earliest models of Lexus IS250 2005 uses port injection. So I always tell people who are looking for them to buy this model. The manual version of these Lexus cars are really terrible tho. And I usually prefer manual.
Your do great videos, and all the cars you sell are mostly top of the range and in mint condition, if I was in the U.K. I wouldn’t buy a car from anybody else, and let me tell you I’m fussy about my cars as are you.
The F Sport suspension would probably account for the difference in ride between the two, and it also seems to be very sensitive to tyre brands and pressures. For my typical driving mix, the F Sport was preferred over the other models in the IS range (less floaty). Always loved the Honda though, and still think the previous generation had better ride, handling and body control than this gen!
Handling i'd agree but no way does a CL9 gen have better ride and body control ,chalk and cheese between the newer CU is much better, much stiffer and stronger body . The CU is also more reliable with less issues however the CL9 has a better version of the K24 series motor if you want to modify it.
Wow; I've never been so bored. I was after either of these cars; but I ended up falling asleep
This is great video. I'm trying to decide between Honda Accord coupe and 2010 Lexus is 250❤️

Best choice. The Honda 6 speed would be one of the best manual gearboxes ever made /designed by any manufacturer.

Good video. I like both cars, couldn't choose between them without driving them
The video I've been waiting for. Thanks buddy 👌
Another honda man ! I've had 3 accords, and a Legend KB1, which I still own. I know exactly what you mean by honda. They never feel old !

I'm exactly deciding between two cars

run a bottle of seafoam through the intake on the is250 every year and that should prevent the carbon build up.

Apart from looks and handling, the Lexus has a fantastic v6 engine with a smooth transmission. That would be the decisive factor for me.
Also hard to beat RWD
@@FrackaLacka Generally true, but the regular IS is nothing special when it comes to driving dynamics. Nothing like a BMW..
