Didn't surprise me at all because if you make something deliberately gender neutral, most people picture a man unless you've also attached female stereotypes onto the description. Studies show that gender neutral language actually exacerbates male-as-default stereotyping

i mean the first part of the prompt is literally "built like and warrior" and has an "irresponsible feel" how could it not be a himbo/thembo
When I realized that Julia implied a collar using bold strokes and negative space at 30:45, it actually made me catch my breath. Her mastery makes me want to be the very best I can be too.
Of course when I saw "combed over," I immediately thought of a combover; you know, like for when someone is balding. So I basically imagined this older man, some sort of show host or even cabaret MC type, who seems a little bit sleazy and a little bit immature for his age but always dresses to the nines because he loves the show. Years of keeping in top shape for the audience has left him built like a brick house, but unfortunately he can't stop the passage of time as it softens his once piercing green eyes and thins his once gloriously feathered hair, and he adamantly refuses such artificialities as botox and toupees. But on the bright side, there plenty of demand for a silver fox...

To be fair, Julia's comfort zone is 'many-eyed horror monsters' and 'evil business men', and her lines are literally amazing.

I really appreciate the fact that Jacob is always ready to get it on with any character he creates. There's turbo horndog energy in most of your characters, and that's fantastic
we have the barbarian guy whos full of himself, the competent assassin that uses sweet words to trick you, the *himbo*, and the mob boss rogue who has a deep and dark backstory.
Julia's character looks like the mob boss who runs the fantasy themed strip club the other three work at
Nathan's character only takes gold and jewelry and Karina's stuffs bills in his banana hammock. Jacob's character is the bouncer that doubles as the eye candy greeter that lures people into the club.
And they are actually all evil warrior/assasins that work for him (Luce unintentionally).
The strip club is the cover up for their crime organization

i really likes the shines on nathan’s character because it makes his skin look like metal like he covers himself in bronze dust because he’s so wealthy he can put it on for looks :)
i think they should do this but without giving any hints about the character’s looks. it’ll be more interesting to see what kind of appearance people thought would fit with said character’s occupation, personality and style.

and always with a closed up zoom of his face , so when he looks around the camera follow his face by making his face still and the background move with a blur , making he always the major point in focus , and in his battle scenes the lights are always twinkling giving a sensation of low frames and slow movement even tho for sure he must be the strongest of them all, just because nobody knows for sure what is he doing because the closed up and low frame rate while the lights blink

I love this episode. I've watched it like 4 times now. It's my comfort episode. I love how they were supportive of Nathan and he felt better about his great art peice after sharing! I love how Jacob and Karina had great time with character design! I love how Julia just went "what do I want to do?" And just did! And how moody her peice turned out! It's just such a good episode! :3

When I first watched this video when it came out it helped me release I wasn't entirely normal. (Jacob's drawing specifically) I went into a panic about what it was and how to fix that problem, but just now i got reminded of how my journey through gender started. Now that I am comfortable with being a non-binary person and am very proud of themselves I would like to thank you guys for helping me release that in not cis. Also when I picked out my name I had completely forgotten about this video and ended up naming myself Rowen, I just find that a little funny and once again thank you.

Why is this video so intensely wonderful for me? Genuine question. The first three were all incredibly captivating and somehow illustrated where I want to go with character design so perfectly and then Julia's whole bit where she just talked about the way she approaches art and the style have inspired me to improve something fierce. What in the world.
I love this channel. Every video I watch is full of positivity and love for art and friendship. Building each other up, supporting each other's styles and art, it's amazing, I love it, and I'm here for it 😁 This is one of the best channels I've come across.

Karina is such a mood all the time: looking up pictures of Twice, giving her character horns because it's cool, having a built silicon man chillin on her desk, making the character's outfit thotty, not wanting to draw an arm, making a whole character sheet to drive home that Luce is useless lol
I really like the non-binary assassin socialite character :D Seriously, the character design alone provides more than enough personality to inspire a tv series or something. You could call it something like, "If Looks Could Kill," for example. They could have a catch phrase of one kind or another such as: "If looks could kill, you'd be dead twice over."
Yeah, my quote sucks and off the cuff I couldn't think of anything better, but it's a work in progress. Anyway, I think it would make a really neat character-driven Netflix show centered around assassination and organized crime. I would also suggest a not-so-distant future semi-cyberpunk setting potentially. I could go on, but I will spare further details.
I’m a writer, but I really like the dynamic of the cast, and I like seeing what they draw and thinking about how I would interpret things in words. They seem like really fun people. Thanks for making my finals week a little better

I did in fact use Rowan as a DnD character for a one shot, and had them as an assassin rogue in a game where I was secretly tasked to kill a target that everyone else was trying to throw a retirement party for. So I got to play them in a big grand party, socializing, and then they slipped away and when the target took to the stage I was up near a spotlight and fired off poison arrows at him. It turned into me vs the party, but it was so good, and I leaned into that fun lore with the assassin family that pride themselves on showing off their body to show they haven’t been caught or injured as a proof of their skills.
That was freakin' RAD. So much fun seeing everyone's different approach - and it's always so good seeing what happens when someone just goes 'I needed to do one for me' and absolutely goes off on it

@Campbell Palmer Are you a mind reader? How did you come up with the same thing I did. By the way the bard assassin name is Loose, and I am stealing him for a campaign. The Glam Thirst bard is a tiefling whose family had a very stupid bargain would lust demons.

I like the idea with Jacob's about not having visible scars because they're good at what they do.
Adds like a cultural idea to it all, a good assassin wears more revealing clothes to show off their 'clean' body, as a form of advertisement. The shittier the assassin, the more they have to cover up haha.
Oooh that's actually really cool. You could write a real interesting story around the cultural component.
