Are those ash trees 🌳 growing there, and do you have the emerald ash bore? When you left, you forgot the scythe to fix the handle. This was a good visit.

Funny--as a west coast resident, I had a visceral reaction to the idea of a fire in the woods in the summer--70+ years of forest fires will do that to you! It doesn't rain a whole lot here in the summer. We have a reprieve from the smoke today, but it will be back tomorrow.

I know you really like burritos and tacos My husband is Mexican and I make a lot of authentic Mexican food. If you have ever had homemade flour tortillas, you would never go back to the store bought again. I used to make them myself, but I’m getting older and it’s a lot of work. In Texas we have a lot of Mexicans here and there is stores that cater to Mexican food. There is places I could go now and get the homemade flour and corn tortillas that is precooked and all I had to do is finish cooking them at home
Minnesota sounds and looks like an absolutely beautiful place, and it's somewhere I would love to visit. Although I am blown away by the extremities of your climate, in this part of New Zealand, it never goes below zero celsius and never really goes above about 26, 27 in the middle of summer. I wear aT-shirt all year round. Jack, you and your family should come to New Zealand and do some videos here. You'd make some great memories and some fantastic footage.

What a great place to raise your family. When I was growing up there was a huge forest behind our house. That was the best way to spend a summer. We had so much fun there. We’d munch on the local berries and usually have something to cook on the bbq every night. The neighbor kids loved our back yard. Even tho we lived in the suburbs I felt like we were in the wilds of WA. We’d set up our tent in the back yard and sleep under the stars. Later my dad and mom and us kids built a backyard cabin. It eventually became my bedroom. It had skylights and a wood stove for heat. It had electricity from the house. Otherwise it was not fancy. But it faced the woods and was right next to a bunch of massive huckleberry bushes. Song they were the size of trees. Thanks for sharing your lovely adventures

What a great place to raise your family. When I was growing up there was a huge forest behind our house. That was the best way to spend a summer. We had so much fun there. We’d munch on the local berries and usually have something to cook on the bbq every night. The neighbor kids loved our back yard. Even tho we lived in the suburbs I felt like we were in the wilds of WA. We’d set up our tent in the back yard and sleep under the stars. Later my dad and mom and us kids built a backyard cabin. It eventually became my bedroom. It had skylights and a wood stove for heat. It had electricity from the house. Otherwise it was not fancy. But it faced the woods and was right next to a bunch of massive huckleberry bushes. Song they were the size of trees. Thanks for sharing your lovely adventures
