This week, Toby and I got a late start as we headed into the Foot Hills State Forest. I decided to take a few trails that I've never been on. It was fun pushing the limits of the rig. I had so many awesome video opportunities, however, every time I stopped to put up the camera I would end up blocking the trail, making myself a hazzard for passers-bys on ATVs. Being a one man show isn't always easy when trying to record. I think it would be a blast to explore these trails on a weekday. The weekends definitely bring out the crowds. The good news is most people in the forest were only trail riding, so I was able to find an empty remote campsite tucked in the trees surrounded by rolling hills.
It was a quiet remote campsite. The sounds of crows during the day and owls at night were the only signs of life. Supper was excellent, but the night came so quickly and I didn't feel like eating at 11, so I packed it up for leftovers.
My mind started to play tricks on me later that night. As I was walking down the camper steps to sit by the fire I heard a low growling voice say "Hay...Hay!" I was taken back for a second before realizing the sound was coming from my stomach. I guess my brain didn't want to eat the prok chops as much as my stomach did.
As I walked towards the fire I could hear a deer in the woods. It made that sneezing sound deer make when they become alarmed. Unfortunately by the time I pressed record the deer was gone. That's when the sounds of the empty forest became amplified. Every acorn drop, every shrue scampering across the forest floor, sounded like a herd of elephants about to crash into my campsite. It's truly funny how our brain can play tricks on us. All the sound could be explained with rational explanations, but I was still on edge.
That's when i decided to take a walk down the forest trail. I get joy out of pushing myself out of my comfort zone. In the back of my mind, I knew walking down that trail at midnight was safer than walking through most walmarts at 6 pm. But there's something about walking through a forest at midnight that makes you feel alive.
If you stick around for the entire video, you heard the news about Mandi, her son Conner, and me moving in together. I'm super excited about the next chapter in our lives. It was nice to have supper ready for her Sunday night when she got home from work. She said the porkchops in the mushroom sauce was excellent. 👌
Thanks for following along on the adventure. Toby and I will see you again next week.
Kenny
Ahh, the Bob Ross of camping & King Toby. Good times.
Oh, my, that's a good analogy!
Long live Bob Ross!!!!
Toby has his own camping chair. Everyone is happy and comfortable.
Yeah, and it looks even comfier than Kenny's chair!
@@Johnniebhoy83 But, of course. :) I forget which position he has now, but isn't he a director, at least?
@@AbbyD_TN I asked, and evidently Toby has run out of a way to move up the ladder, lol
Kenny you always make me nervous when you go for a walk late at night . Wolf and black bears roaming around. You and Toby stay safe.
Does MN have cougars, too? I'm not familiar with this state too well. I hail from SE TN.
Yes there are some hot older cougar gals at the taverns @@AbbyD_TN
@@AbbyD_TN we have rare, confirmed sightings of cougars, but no established population. Including one in Minneapolis last December.
I can’t believe how chill Toby is!! He’s a great companion for you!! You’re videos are AWESOME thanks to your 4-legged screen writer 😂
I’m thinking the same.. walking at night in the woods in the middle of nowhere.. mercy.. “ somethings being thrown at the camper” … wish I could be so brave … be safe
I'll echo the sentiment... no walking alone in the woods at night! You're a national treasure, to be protected at all costs!
Congrats on moving in with Mandy! You light up when you speak of her and it's clear how much love and care you have for one another.
@@derick-smith I agree I wish Kenny would not walk alone at night in the woods, it scares me
Looks like pure Sasquatch territory!!❤❤
Squatchey
WOOD-BOOGER-lcrfl: I was thinking the same thing.
We do have our fair share. . . Just as anywhere else
@@SasquatchNinja True.
Yes I was thinking the same thing!
Everyone know what time it is? Kenny and Toby time!!!!!
Toby is getting to look more mature. He is growing up to be a Big Boy. But, he will always be your baby.
Such a handsome, well-behaved dog. Love seeing him.
Just wanted to say that about 3 years ago, I decided to get a camper. After 1 1/2 years of deliberations, I decided on a truck camper and watching your videos definitely helped me decide on getting the Arctic Fox brand of truck camper. I sold my truck (F250) and got an F350 dually. It ended up being my Christmas present to myself. Last month I finally got my truck camper, I got an 1150 and I'm so happy with it. I've spent 1 weekend camping in it so far, but now I have to wait to get a skid wheel for my Torklift Super Truss so I don't scrape it coming and going out of my driveway. I'll be camping soon enough for the fall season and absolutely cannot wait!
Take care and keep the videos coming. Maybe I'll see you down the road 😁
Congratulations to you and Mandy moving in together! 🎉
Awesome! It sounds like you'll be ready just in time for awesome fall camping weather.
BIGFOOTS LOVE TO THROW ACCORNS!!!!!!
he also gave me ghonorrea
And rocks and sticks
If you wrote a campsite cookbook, I'd buy it.
Me too!
Me three!
Me four 😂
Kenny and Toby, our Tuesday evenings are spent watching you and Toby living your adventures. Our little pup, ChaChi, watches Toby close and considers him a Super Star! Your cooking is amazing. Thank you for sharing with us all! Bless you Kenny!
Geez Kenny! Walking alone in the dark scares the crap out of me. Watching you walk alone in the dark is just as bad!!! Be careful!!!
I love that his own growling stomach is what scared Kenny, LOL!
Have to admit my heart beats faster when he does those things, too.
Agreed! And that creepy music definitely added to the suspense!
This episode was EPIC! Toby has turned out to be quite the handsome little man and filling out, what a gorgeous boy! Those were some spooky sounds, along with a whole lot of owls sounding off. There could be anything in those woods Kenny....you make me nervous going for a walk at night with no obvious protection on you. I am so happy & excited for you and Mandy...we want video of this Glorious event! Oh wait...she doesn't like being on camera...oh well. Thank You for sharing this Amazing Adventure with us Kenny, loved every minute!
I felt the same about his walk. I kept thinking what if a bear got between him & the camper?
Kenny, when you hear noises in the woods, you dont go alone into the dark woods! You head the other way into your camper!
You did find a good spot there. Its really beautiful.
Great news about you & Mandi. Wishing you a lifetime of happiness.
I just love that Toby has his own chair ❤……Best dog dad ever
Hey Kenny, thanks for sharing your weekend.
Kenny and toby let's go
Our Black Lab gets so excited when she sees Toby on your videos.
Thank you for sharing.
I always get so much inspiration for camping meals from you! We need a Kenny of All Trades campfire cookbook!! That dinner looked delicious! Toby and his chair always makes me smile... and that heavy sigh when he was in the camper... such a sweet boy!
Every time I watch one of your videos I say to myself keep plugging away soon it’s gonna be your turn. I can hardly wait.
Oh, wow, go for it!
Follow your heart my friend. Life is short. Congrats to you and Mandi Connor, Tillie and of course Toby! You are a great pair!
Toby looking healthy and happy. His colors are amazing.... Love your videos brother!!!
It must be Tuesday! Time for Toby and Kenny!!! 😀
Another great video!!! Thank you ❤
Kenny and Toby, your videos are sprays a highlight of my week. Thank you for sharing your adventures and letting us be a part. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for taking us along , good to see Fall starting to kick off . 🔥
I always like Tuesdays for these to come out.
Talk about perfection !!! This came just at d perfect time cos work has been crazy today. This is d anchor I need to bring me back and keep me centered and grounded.
Thank you so much for all that you do 😊
What a perfect one night trip. Kicked in a memory from a trip with my dog a couple years ago. My dog woke me up growling at a noise, I hear what sounded like a cougar (which we do have up here in Michigan) so I get up and lock the camper door, and then think cougars don't have thumbs. Laughed about it and went back to sleep. Thanks again for the ride along.
Toby is so chill for such a young dog. Toby’s the best!
100% I feel like he's got an old soul. He has picked up on training so quickly. His got a great temperament. I hot the jackpot with him.
Great to see you and Toby on your adventure. I love your calm nature and it makes your videos so pleasant and enjoyable. Toby is growing into a big boy.
Thank you for sharing your latest adventure with us Kenny and Toby 😀!
Happy Toby Tuesday everyone!! Yay!!❤ Thanks Kenny. Love love love this channel!
You're in my stomping grounds now! Love it out there!
ahhh never been this early lets go folks!!!
Oh lovely fire, wow. I can smell it already...sigh. Beautiful. Never walk without the pup along! Thank you!
He's guarding the camp. :) But, yeah, personally, I'd have my dog with me, but I'm a girl. Maybe it's different with men? IDK.
I had large rocks thrown at me while in my camper while solo camping last November. No trees were above my camp area either. One stone was a baseball size conglomeration of pebbles, small rocks, and clay. I wouldn’t have thought of it as creepy except for the ungodly scream screech I heard prior to it. And no, it wasn’t anything I’ve ever heard in 63 years of the outdoors. I was alone, midweek, in the middle of nowhere.
That's incredible. I'm torn on whether or not I'd want to experience something like that. I'm sure it was terrifying at the time, but it's an incredible experience to have.
Good lord , what an experience
I think Kenny was parked in the open too. I was thinking, how could it be acorns on the roof with no trees above? What a beautiful site though, the grass looked so nice and low.
Weather has been great here in the Yoop also, little to warm in the day, but cool nights. It's nice Toby has his own chair.
Congratulations to you and Mandi. Wife said, "she said yes to the address "
Reminds me of growing up in the summer's in Michigan. Glad to see you and Toby out there so much. I just lost my 7-1/2 year old blue pit 2 weeks ago tomorrow. Only got to take him camping one time. Love your content and information you provide to all of us. Thank you!!
I'm so sorry to hear that. Their lives are so short...it so sad.
I grew up on the farm, and was never too much bothered by the silence. Then I moved to the city with the traffic, neighbors, and occasional gunshots, and now the silence creeps me out. Sometimes I have to run a fan or other 'white noise' just to drown out the strange sounds of silence. I like to shine a bright flashlight across the pasture and count the eyes staring back at me... (that's creepy, too).
I could not camp alone like that. Too scary. I would love to do it but…….so glad you’re having fun.
I would love to if I had the skill...and enjoyed camping. Had enough of that when I was growing up. But maybe a setup like that would be nice.
Toby is growing so much. Supper looked delicious. Everything going on in the world today I carry everywhere I go. It’s better to be safe than sorry. Be safe out there.
In Canada we cannot carry, but bear spray is fair game! ... just not for humans but if someone is threatening me or mine, bear spray it is!!!
Toby is one contented boy. That does my heart good.
Yay another Toby Tuesday adventure.
Great video! I've also had a few spooky camping nights in my life. Part of the adventure!❤
When you cook...before you add liquids to the gravy. You need to "cook" the flour. Make a spot in the skillet by pushing the onions and mushrooms toward the sides. Cook the flour in the cleared spot just 3 to 5 mins. Then slowly add the milk or cream. Lastly add the water or broth.
Another great video!
best part of my day, watching your videos. forget the news, economy, and crime....... back to nature, thank you!
Congratulations to the four of you. Yep, I heard the last few seconds of this video. Indiana thanks you! Can't wait to see the other responses! Whoo Whoo!
17:36 Toby is precious. I was so glad when he became yours & I feel so much better when he is with you. I know he loves it. I can imagine how sad he would be to see that truck pull out to go camping , leaving him home
Another great video, in the bag! Minnesota is so beautiful! Toby is so big now! 💙 Thank you! Wish you the best with the move in. ❤❤
Moving in together? Awesome! Fantabulous! Such wonderful news! And so it begins, new adventures of a different kind! 😉
Nothing like the ping of acorns on the roof ! That rock you pointed out was interesting to see , like waves almost . So peaceful just hearing the sounds of the forest . especially the owls , Toby is always so chill , what a great pal . A new chapter for you Mandy and Toby . Nice!
Acorns are horrible at night. Especially ina tent. Every chipmunk is a bear, every acorn is Big Foot
100%
your camera placement and editing is amazing
Thanks!
I JUST told my friends this morning that the overnight lows aren't cutting it right now, and my sleep is definitely affected. It needs to cool off already! Congrats on moving in together! That's awesome for you guys!
The rocking of the camper and your soothing voice are relaxing, maybe that’s why Toby naps so much,
What a cool picture of the camper. Have a wonderful week? We'll see you again next Tuesday. Thanks, kenny. God Bless you
Sure has been wonderful. Watching toby grow what a wonderful puppy sure has turned out to be.
Thank you Kenny and Toby for another great video. I love when you cook even if you save it for leftovers. 😊
My guy! You mess with my mind when you go for walks at night. Plz take care of yourself. Honestly a day away to relax is better then none. ❤
I love the drone shots. You do a great job editing the footage. I love watching Toby. I look forward to Tuesday!
Congratulations on Mandy moving in!
Acorns are hell here in Virginia this time of year especially the ones the size of your thumb. They about knock you out when they hit you in the head walking through the woods.
Thank again Kenny for making our truck camping Tuesdays something to look forward to each week!!!
Congratulations that you and Mandi are moving in together! And wow, you sure lucked out with that awesome campsite. Toby is such a darling! Thanks for another engaging chapter in your camping adventures!
You always make Minnesota look so magical. I am so happy about you and Mandy. You are the best! Thank you for always taking us on the road with you! Don'tchaknow! 😁
OMG! Congrats on finally moving in with Mandy! Bout time! 😊 And ditto from what another viewer said, stop walking in the dark at night! It creeps us out! All that howling was either coyotes or wolves, or both! 😱 You and Toby stay safe, please!!
Like your content keep it coming
Kenny I just did something that you taught me , we were at a lake in ca. we were the only ones there beautiful, we noticed too mush trash around so we decided to pick up the whole camp ground . All because of you ,thanks buddy
Even one night in a beautiful natural setting is good for the mind body and soul , your lovely channel gives us the chance to experience it with you and Toby ❤
This was definitely your scariest vid. You outdone yourself on the meal for sure. I think the one nighter was as good as 2 nights. Congrats on Mandy moving in Toby will be happy.
How cool that Mandy is moving in with you Kenny. I always enjoy watching your videos. I love dogs and Toby. Looks like he’s a great companion. Stay cool.
You completely unnerve me with these night walks very scary!! May the lord Jesus keep you safe
Mandi and Kenny, so glad that you will be together. Especially with Kenny's surgery looming in the future. It's obvious you two are good for each other. I have noticed even in the videos where Mandi is out of sight (mostly) there is laughter and happy voices.
The woods were beautiful in the daytime............awesome at night LoL!!! Here we have so many oaks dropping their Acorns and deer moving around it explains any noises I hear.
You're having cool weather compared to us.......still hitting 90+, along the Mississippi the humidity is staying up.............but NO RAIN!!!! Kenny, I really don't remember when we had rain..........probably a month at least now. Our Farmers are really hurting.
So glad you and Mandi will be together, maybe we'll see more of her on the videos..........if she wants............fully understand being camera shy.....I'm the same way Mandi!
Thanks for bringing us along...always worth the trip!
Great camping night, acorns dropping sounding scary but you are safe in there with Toby, he could use a nice warm blanket for the cooler nights. I am so tired of summer weather myself.
Yes, you ate right. I'll have to start bringing his blankets real soon.
Congratulations Kenny 4 you & Mandy moving into together.. That's you part of the family now. It's scary at night when there is no street lights there, & it's only u & the night life you probably scare each other to bits.. We will c u down the road kenny & Toby 🚚👃
Congratulations on you and Mandy moving in together.
Toby is looking full grown, what a big good boy! Great footage as always Kenny, look forward to watching the next outing!
Good to see you Kenny! Toby's getting big!
You make my week on Tuesday night it’s Toby time and yes walking at night miles deep in the woods scary for sure hope you and Toby have a great week take care be safe be happy
Ominous music starting at 17:50, I love it!! Gets your entire audience ramped up! Ha! Stay safe Kenny. Thanks for the awesome videos as always! Larry.
Great video! Creepy is right! I was nervous just watching. One-nighters are great, especially if that is all you can squeeze into your schedule. Thanks for taking us along! j
Nice meal idea, and thanks for bringing us along. My wife thinks I’m nuts as I wave the phone in front of her, See there’s Toby in his chair:)
Thank you for taking us along! Great scenery, good cooking and I find it hard to believe you get scared. Love the sounds of nature and I like your night walks, your senses are heightened, the fragrance of the woods is breathtaking, the stars are beautiful. Congratulations on the next chapter of your life with Mandi 🩷
Can't wait for Tuesdays videos to come out. Love your channel. Calm and relaxing all the way around. Totally love Toby! Beautiful pup!!
The acorns used to fall onto the roof of the guest house at my uncles lake cabin. I will never forget the tiny thud, then it rolling down the roof. Over and over and over. That sound put me to sleep many nights as a child. Great video, as always! And, I do hope you are packing during those night walks.
You are a wild one for those late night walks in the dark, another great video in the bag.
I asked myself the same thing this past weekend. One night camping is all we did too, still nice to get our blues and greens. I agree, it was warm for MN late summer camping. Love your drone shots as always!
Awwww, Toby and Kenny time!!! Yay...... except for the walk alone in the dark!
Your posts are like coffee, can't get by without, also good news about you and Mandy and the thing with wood noise is you can't deny that area is rich in rumor and BF history, you were trained to observe so observe and report.
Congratulations to you and Mandi, Toby and Tilly! Yep, I caught those great, last few seconds! Woop Woop! What a treat for central Indiana, where the corn is being harvested early. Sorry this is in two segments. Computer malfunction.
Hi Kenny and Toby, really relaxing video to watch, nice to see you both.
A bit late in watching your video, you very enjoyable mate.
Congratulations on moving in together awesome news.
Take care ❤ X X X.
💋's for Toby X X X
It looks like someone keeps this mowed for campers like you. Very nice.
Made me chuckle when ya said your belly scared ya😂
Toby's Face! Damn He's Adorable ❤❤❤
Yep ... sasquatch !!! lol. Toby is getting so big. What a good boy.
Squirrels knock a lot of things off the trees this time of year including pine cones with sound like rocks when they hit the roof.
On a side note congratulations that you and Mandy are moving in together she's got herself a great guy!
Been watching old vids and I miss Toby
I sure enjoy your videos Kenny. Love Toby. Hugs, head pats and belly rubs to him. Thank you for sharing.
Wait… what? Mandy’s movin’ in? Good for you! Good for all y’all. 👍🏻
You could see something to left when you went out to look with the flash light. Glad you and Toby were safe
The mind can play tricks on you in the woods late at night. But less worry since Toby didn't react. Nice to see the leaves starting to turn. Fall is a great time for videos.
I camped in my van last weekend in some wet woods is Snowdonia, Rain falling off the trees in bursts can keep you awake like someone tapping on your vehicle.
Enjoyed as usual, Thanks!
