Aurora looks like a small town in SA should look like! Absolutely beautiful from the pastorie to the rugby fields! The people are fantastic and the food ...well what can I say.......delicious!
Another magnificent little hamlet I never knew existed. Beautiful "salt of the earth" people who inhabit the hamlet too. Your drone footage captures both the beauty and the peace of Aurora. Lovely visit. Thank you.
It is episodes such as this one where you provide your viewers with an indepth "study" of a village, never missing the chance to capture even more for us, is why I love this channel so much. The information about the cycle race was "beklemtooned" (its better said in Afrikaans, like your meals) so much that I imagine many viewers now taking part. A beautiful church too, in impeccable condition.
Wow! You guys are so good at discovering hidden treasure! I never heard of Goedverwagt or Aurora before. Would have loved to have visited but at least I have your back seat to visit and see from. Many buildings are indeed well preserved for their age. Love the ginger kitties! And the magnificent church with it's unique entrance, and you were so lucky to see inside the pastorie. That awesome sunset was such a fitting end to a beautiful day.
I have lived in South Africa all my life and never heard of this place Aurora in South Africa. It's amazing to learn about places in South Africa that I didn't even know it existed. I only know the Aurora at the top of Norway.
Nice trip. The vegetation and mountains are stunning. Curtis spoiled us again with a drone intro. It gives so much perspective on the town. Well done. What a nice kept small town. Really beautiful. The parsonage is a beautiful building and garden. Luckily we could see it. Thanks for those trip. You never fail my expectations. Well done. Next onei will be there
just want to than kyou you two for such a wonderful trip along with you ,there is so much to see in our most beautiful beloved country .there is still so much to explore ,thankyou once again next destination pls.
Hi you two! This was a really interesting trip, onverwachs coming upon Goedverwacht which is a surprisingly nice place itself. Aurora is again one of your Western Cape visits where one could wish to retire. I hope it will not be overrun by tourists, losing its peacefulness. For me the magnificent church and your excellent drone view were the highlights of this visit. thank you for taking me along. Until next time, keep safe!
Thanks once again Sonja and Curtis for taking us along to these beautiful places that exist where I will never get to go to. Stowage buildings fantastic. Stay safe on the road.❤
Another great visit to a lovely peaceful little town. Such friendly people .That bobotie and those pumpkin fritters looked so lekker. Pleased to hear that they not only looked lekker, but also tasted lekker too !! So nice of the lady to contact and ask if you liked the food. That church was immaculate. The parsonage was also a beautiful building. Did Sonia leave some scraps from her snitchel for the 10 pussycats ? 😹😄 Did not see a Police station or a clinic in Aurora.
Julle kon by ons kom moerkoffie drink oppad Aurora toe! Ons bky op die pad wat julle gery het! Ons kan julle bitter baie vertel van die gebied. Mooi bly!❤
Hi guys two amazing places lovely stone church also national monument history was interesting the snoek and potatoes sounds tasty 😋. The drone footage was amazing the church in the centre of town lots of amazing old property's love the old colonial style ones the town has all the facilities you could need .Monica's was different loved all the old military stuff and medals. The design of the church was unusual had a kind of Greek orthodox look the interior was immaculate amazing carpentry the organ made in Leyton is in the East end of London. You always have good luck in these small towns a private visit to the parsonage as you said the people were super friendly Aurora had a relax vibe to me with good food and accommodation. Thanks for taking me along cheerio till the next one
Have followed you both for years a great entertaining and educational channel. Just a question? Episode 494 and still season one? I would have thought maybe a season per calendar year or per 100 episodes maybe? Keep them coming we have a great country most of it unexplored by many of us
Thanks for sticking around for that long, we appreciate that very much! 🚙😁 I was falling around with the numbering of our episodes in the beginning and I explain this in Episode 480 too. My thinking was that Season 1 would be all the places and towns within the borders of South Africa. We do plan one day on exploring other countries too and they would each have their own season numbers. I may rethink this down the line, but it's a huge job to redo and editing always takes priority.
Nice little place Aurora, but so looks Goedverwacht....to which I have never been. I dont know if someone can correct me but I have heard the story about this fantastic steakhouse that is...or probably was there in Aurora. The story goes that people went from Cape Town to Aurora over weekends to eat there.
You're assuming I'm Afrikaans because of my Free State accent. 🤷🏻♂️ I'm English-speaking and our videos will always be in English so that my family and our friends abroad can also follow along. Our channel is clearly not the one for you. Insulting others is not our vibe.

Our food was indeed fantastic, much like our entire visit to the pretty village of Aurora. 🚙🍛 I'm glad you enjoyed the place too!

If Sonia had her way, those kitties would've had not only her schnitzel, but also her veggies and pumpkin fritters. 😍🐱
I remember we went up the mountain at Aurora.Stay in a cabin but it rained all night out children were small so the next we went home😅
Julle kon by ons kom moerkoffie drink oppad Aurora toe! Ons bky op die pad wat julle gery het! Ons kan julle bitter baie vertel van die gebied. Mooi bly!❤
A quaint town. My mom has lived there for 7 years.
I've often wanted to visit Aurora, now I don't have to, since you took me there! 😄

They could cultivate all the land and grow vegetables and fruit.Make it a community development
Thank you!!🥰
Lucky to stay here in Aurora for almost 9 years. ❤😊Hope to see some of you at our Aurora Skou in August. I will also be having a food stall🎉
The thriving metropolis of Aurora. Magnificent 30 Km from us.
🤨
My hubby and I visited Aurora yesterday. We received a very friendly and warm welcome at Monica's Coffee Shop and from Paul Gardiner.
We always drive past Aurora. Next time we will definitely turn off and have a look around! Loved the video, thanks!
Really enjoyed your video of Aurora. We once thought of living there, but it was too isolated for us Oldies. We stay in Porterville and love it here.🌻

My laerskool dae. En ook waar ek my eerste musiek onderwyser, Mnr Joachim Speizer ontmoet het.
why don’t you rather comment in your native afrikaans and not butcher the english language
