  • Today we have a subscriber request. This globe was requested by Future Watcher who saw it in Episode 150.
    This is a Crystal Visions Dragon snow globe from one of Ally's favorite manufacturers, The San Fransisco Music Box Company.
    The base is a castle that appears to be built on a mountain peak. In the center of the castle sits a tall green dragon with his wings outstretched and its tail coiled around a crystal ball that it appears to be protecting. The globe itself had a crescent moon and some stars etched into the glass. The globe has small green and blue glitter.
    The globe is missing some water and the water that it left is starting to yellow. The stopper is also partially pulled in on one side causing the dragon to tilt. The music box is seized and will not play.
    We open the globe and clean the globe and figurine. We add some Zap-A-Gap around the edges of the figurine which was starting to lift off of the stopper. We use our premixed snow globe water consisting of 65% Water, 5% Alcohol, and 30% Clear Glue. We use the water submersion method to remove the air bubble. Ally upgraded the small blue and green glitter with medium size blue and green hexagon glitter. The music box mechanism looked okay except for some rust on the barrel. We were able to get the mechanism going by manually turning the regulator. We used a few drops of 3-In-1 oil on the spring, regulator, gears, and drum. The mechanism runs well now and plays: Chariots Of Fire
    We hope you enjoy this video and learned something if you are planning to repair one.
    Thanks for watching!

    Was doing a little bit of music boxes shopping yesterday, and I think I did tell you about one that plays right of the Valkyries. Not sure if I want to get the USS Constitution box or the dragon water globe that plays the tune. if I were to get that water globe, and if it needs some repairing, I know who to turn to to get it repaired.

      As a veteran I would say the USS Constitution but I would probably lean towards the dragon! We are always here to support our subscribers!

    Really enjoy your videos - I appreciate your taking the time to record and post them here!
    Would you be willing to recommend the amount of glitter to put into a snow globe that uses 7 cups of water? Thank you!

      @snowgloberescue8887  Год назад

      Hi, happy that you like the videos! The amount of glitter is definitely a matter of personal preference, however, for a globe that size we would use between 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon of glitter. Thanks fort the comment.

      I made a bunch of rookie mistakes and will have to restart. But nothing that Zap-A-Gap can't fix.

    what is the clear glue that you add to the water?

    • @snowgloberescue8887
      @snowgloberescue8887  4 месяца назад

      We use Elmer's Clear glue. However, you can use other brands of clear glue as long as the glue dissolves in water.

    Why does she ruin the globe changing the glitter now it will never be worth anything

    • @snowgloberescue8887
      @snowgloberescue8887  Год назад +2

      We understand. Sometimes people want to keep things 100% original. In our case the value of the globe is what we place on it since we don't plan to ever sell it. In some cases when we have to replace the water we take the opportunity to customize the globe and make it our own. This is probably the only one in the world that looks like this.

      @YoYoRaeRae Год назад +1

      Not “worth” anything? You think it wouldn’t be worth MORE for actually having a full globe of water? Always a critic. 🙄
