Enjoyed the video. Reminded me of how my jumpers crashed my Bush Mule. Only the chute came out the back, and it finally grabbed the elevator causing a fatal crash, with all jumpers on board. LOL. Not going to be dropping any jumpers out of the C-130, once I get the blue angel version; tomorrow. can't wait.
Yes! Towards end of the video when the 3 successfully jumped. That was my best demo of slow flight but I think it can fly marginally slower still. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)
@@EssentialRC Makes sense. I just looked and could see from the jumpers perspective looking back up that both sets of flaps are deployed to get to that 120 ish knots over the DZ. Many memories of the C-130... Airlandings and parachute jumps... Once we landed on a mountain top with a very short landing area, that was not a hard runway... I don't know how short, but the stop was very quick and a very short landing distance. As is the norm, tailgate jumps were the better option - Not sure why we ever used the side doors. Also, it was quite the ride when flying nap of the earth. Didn't look much different from the old C-123, but you didn't have the constant C-123 feeling that the plane was about to fall apart in flight (To be fair, the C-123 I only jumped a couple times, and it was older than dirt).
To start out with get something like this bit.ly/volantexRcSportCub. It's relatively cheap and has everything included in the box except for the four AA batteries you need for the transmitter.
I have had many years working alongside the C.130 in the UK and the one thing that I loved about it was the way it sits in the air no mater at what speed it was being flown at having said this I know from my own experience with RC scale the difficulty involved but I have to agree the excess speed affects the scale affect of this model in the air which is unfair to the people who have been involved with the production of such a great looking model

Very cool to see you model. I have jumped from C-130’s many times. Your guys there are paratroopers. We were trained that, under the laws of warfare, a “parachutist” is someone forced to jump because of equipment failure.. like shooting down an aircraft. That person may not be engaged while in the air under canopy. A “paratrooper,” is an airborne soldier who’s job is to jump on purpose, as a means of rapid deployment, who’s intention is to fight. That person may be engaged while still in the air. Pretty cool to see you getting them deployed.

Essential RC none taken whatsoever. Thought you might get a kick out knowing. I was a sport skydiver as well. I’ve jumped the C-130, C-141, C-5, Chinook and Blackhawk helicopters, as well as a bunch of civilian skydive aircraft. I really like your C-130 and the jumpers! Very very cool!

Did hobbyking send you upgraded props by any chance? They are sending me new props out of the blue with no explanation. Haven't maidened it yet, so will probably wait until the new props come.
Will a spectrum DX8 be enough to run this? And will a 7 channel receiver work all systems or will it need an 8 channel? I usually use Lemon stab plus 7 channel receivers with my DX8.

Beautiful model, Dom. You make me go back in time, when I built the Airfix model ... 70s, I was only ten years old: you can imagine how accurate the realization was ... let's move on to something else! Excellent takeoff and good flight, i.m.h.o. a bit 'too fast even with extended flaps, perhaps with some more flight things could improve. To launch the parachute you could make an ejector, controlled by another channel in addition to that of the door, to kick out the parachute at the desired time. So lots of reviewers say Hobbyking planes are crap. Personally I bought a Vampire EDF that flies very nicely. Biggest con with their planes is the paint comes off just putting it together. Wish they figured out to put a little pva in the paint to bond it to plane.
There are 3 sets of decals with the gray military scheme but sorry I can't tell you specifically what they are as have disposed of the box and spare decals. Ask on the rcgroups forum and you'll get the answer. Regards Dom (Essential RC)
On a 4S2700 pack I'd say 5-6 minutes but I would urge you to time your first flight for a short 3-4 minutes and see what you have left in the pack. You don't want to hit LVC. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)

I was hoping for a much more scale looking slow (flaps deployed) flight. Listening to Steve (Neil?) On a pod cast interview; he made it sound as though it would perform much slower with flaps. Looked more like a child's toy in the air (way to fast for scale). Takeoff was....well...close-okay. I think keeping it as small as they did for convenience may have hurt it. Having second thoughts about getting one. Though price range seems right on. Looks awesome and so real and well detailed on the the deck. But that's where the realism ends.
Video shows fast full throttle and slow flight I felt comfortable with. That was just from 2 flights. Will take a few flights to understand how slow it will really fly. I didn't want to risk stalling it on those first flights. More vid soon. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)
There's not an awful lot of wing area there, so unfortunately it's never going to be a slow flyer at this (relatively small) scale ... even with flaps. The Grumman Albatross that's in the pipeline will be a better bet IMHO - same span but lower aspect ratio, so more area.

I did and the slow motion sequences looked quite scale but it seems to be a bit of a rocket ship but as it was a maiden flight you probably wasn't too keen on slowing it down and risking a stall .Do you know how much will it cost ? I can't find any pricing .

Why buy from an online store you know nothing about? Crazy. Yes...it's probably a scam. Look at products on RUclips channels like this and use the links in the video description or pinned comment. We only deal with good online RC stores. Also, do not buy from RUclips or Facebook RC adverts. They are almost always scams.

i live near a military airbase and everyday a c130 passes by no more than 300 feet away from my home 😂 im a lucky guy i know

For the parachute guys. I added piece of foam inside to make a compartment. I also removed the door struts.

Did you use any dual rates or exponential? What did you use for percentage?
On most planes I fly I use 3 position rates. With max being 100% and full physical throw. Then I set 60% and 30% of that. 30% expo across everything.

I did and the slow motion sequences looked quite scale but it seems to be a bit of a rocket ship but as it was a maiden flight you probably wasn't too keen on slowing it down and risking a stall .Do you know how much will it cost ? I can't find any pricing .

What receiver are you using?

Need help, the first ad I came across was this RC Jet for sale for $9.90 US on a website called “Moment Life” or faceshuin store. Does anyone know if this is a legit website or a scam? I ordered a plane and just want to make sure.
Why buy from an online store you know nothing about? Crazy. Yes...it's probably a scam. Look at products on RUclips channels like this and use the links in the video description or pinned comment. We only deal with good online RC stores. Also, do not buy from RUclips or Facebook RC adverts. They are almost always scams.
US flag on the right side of the vertical stab is oriented backwards. It should match the other side. Starfield is always 'going forward' so to speak.
