    This took me ages, the 1 advice that i found on a forum that made it super easy, and is not mentioned in this guide, is that the purpose of hitting the coupler is not the to create force to losen it, its to make coupler outspin the engine. Once i did that it came off in just a few tries.

    for the model that I had (Bosch VitaBoost MMBH6P6B) , I had to spin it counter clock-wise to loosen it. The principle is the same. Thanks for the instructions!

    i coud not take the coupler out by hitting it with a hammer and crew driver so i Bill Weir's method i removed the bottom cover (4 screws) and you will see a fan, at the center of the fan you will see what looks like the head of a screw with a slot that is the shaft that goes from the fan up to the coupler, my son put a flat screw driver on the slot in the middle of the fan to keep the coupler from turning i turned the coupler to the right with channel lock pliers to remove it. i also replaced the gear under the cup, i put on a leather glove got a thick towel I and doubled it put it inside the cup and held the blade my son turned the gear to the right (we where facing each other) with the pliers and in 5 seconds we where done.

    Hi I think my coupler is fused to the shaft. Any advice? How do you make it look so easy? Mine is impossible to remove.

  • @KiraHelenRose
    @KiraHelenRose 5 лет назад +2

    Is the blade replaceable, or do you have to buy a whole new pitcher? The part of mine that fits into the coupler is also stripped. But when I tried to remove it from the pitcher I couldn't. I can loosen it, but I can't get it out. Because both the blade and coupler are stripped, the blade comes loose while blending and the contents leaks out the bottom of the pitcher.

    Do you have a video about how to change the coupler of the glass?

  • @javierenriquehernandezacev9382
    @javierenriquehernandezacev9382 3 года назад

    It worked for me this time, thanks. It's not easy, you need a quick tap in order to take advantage of rotor inertia. but no too hard to avoid breaking. I put electrical tape on flat driver head to protect coupling. I think somehow wood stick would work better.

    Or, if the coupler is fused to the shaft like mine was, do it the hard way. Remove the bottom, cut the top of the coupler off so that the motor can be removed, remove the screws that hold the motor in place. Remove the motor, remove the cooling fan and place the shaft in a vice. Now, simply remove whats left of the coupler with a pair of channel locks remembering the left handed threads. Re assemble and screw on the new coupler as the video shows.

  • @appliancepartspros

    In general these motors are replaced not repaired. You could get lucky and find a loose/bad connection when you take it out, but that is pretty slim. You can go to our web site and enter your model number to find the correct replacement motor.

    Alondra Villanueva I cannot answer as you have the reply feature off. I have heard that in certain styles you may have to take the bottom of the blender off and hold the motor from spinning while you take the coupler off.

    I broke the the lip off the coupling with a flat head screwdriver. I cleaned up the rim of the coupling so it was clean. Take off the bottom by removing the screws under the rubber pads. Unclip the two electrical clips coming from the motor. Remove the two lower motor support screws. With the lip removed the motor will come out. Grasp the coupling with channel locks. Turn clockwise with a flat head screwdriver the shaft at the other end. It's hard but it comes free. Hope this helps.

    I recently got the coupler because I saw this video and thought it was going to be easy to remove but I've tried so many times and I still can't. Is there another way of taking it off or am I just doing something wrong because the coupler seems to spin both directions

    • @josephwisniewski3673
      @josephwisniewski3673 4 года назад +2

      Remove the bottom of the blender and lock vise grips on the tip of the shaft where it comes through the fan. Then use large curved jaw vise grips or channel locks on the coupler. The procedure illustrated apparently only works for brand new blenders that haven't had the coupler tightened down by repeated spinning against a load combined with vibration.

    I have that model of blender, but my problem is that it seems to leak from the blade shaft itself in the canister ... been leaking since day one now it is getting worse, any sort of fix I can do? if not I am just going to get a new blender.

    • @appliancepartspros
      @appliancepartspros  9 лет назад

      BMan100 Not sure how old it is but if its under warranty I would contact the manufacturer. The whole pitcher is sold as an assembly so you can enter your model number on our website to view the parts breakdown. If it is not under warranty or you don not want a new pitcher you would have to replace the unit.

    You should have explained further how to remove the coupler when your method fails to work. Remove the bottom and using a slot screwdriver on the other end of the shaft and vice grips carefully snapped onto the coupler, turn the coupler clock wise and it will come off. You don't have to break anything. Just use good quality tools. And you may need a second set of hands to hold the base of the blender steady.

    The coupler on my KitchenAid Model KSB560CU0 spins both clockwise and counterclockwise, therefore this technique will not work. Is there another method for this model, or does this mean there are additional problems?

    • @appliancepartspros
      @appliancepartspros  7 лет назад

      Counter clockwise is the way that will turn the blender and clockwise is the way to unscrew the coupler. I've had luck removing it by pressing down on either side of the coupler with my thumbs and sort of flipping it to spin it quickly clockwise, though it may take a few tries. If that doesn't work, in certain styles you may have to take the bottom of the blender off and hold the shaft to keep the motor from spinning while you take the coupler off.
      If this doesn't work and you need additional help with the repair, you can give us a call at 1-877-477-7278 or you can chat us at our website: www.appliancepartspros.com/. We’re here to help 7 days a week.

    What nonsense, it spins in both directions and doesn't have a lock or space for a wrench. As well, how many different styles of screw heads do you need? A flat head on the shaft . . . Really!? Finally released it with double vice grips (coupler + shaft).
    I should have kept it plugged in.

  • @andrewpeterson1142
    @andrewpeterson1142 4 года назад

    Worthless and disappointing. Coupling is fused. Also disassembled the base and the flat-head screw that holds on the fan is fused. Design of coupling is shite anyway. Returning parts to AppliancePartsPros and buying a new, better blender.
