Great video - the first method did not work as the coupler was really stuck. Also tried the flat spanner that came with the replacement coupler but it was not very well made and kept slipping. The second method did the trick. I had no idea that the levering off method would work as I was afraid of causing damage to the drive shaft or stripping the threads. The old coupler came off really easily without damaging the drive shaft thread. Thank you for posting this.
This video helped me a lot, although I had to use a bit of an additional trick, which I am sharing here in case it's of use to anyone else: I used a screw driver to break the plastic cover, then a pair of pliers to hold the coupler in place whilst using the key to unscrew it. (I wasn't strong enough to hold the coupler still and unscrew it).
Dang, mine is just a little different and the part isn’t damaged there is just another part that appears to have rattled out and now it leaks… just a enough so that I have to clean it occasionally
Perhaps mine is a slightly different model, but my blender coupler had a rubberized coating over a metal disk with threading to attach it to the drive shaft. In this case, notice that the drive shaft has two wrench flats and use a flat head screwdriver to immobilize the drive shaft and then simply screw the coupler off by turning it clockwise.
O/c, the first "easy way" didn't work for me, lol. You may want to put something under the screwdriver (I used folded paper) so that you don't gouge the finish. Small one, no big deal. Love the video!
Seems impossible but it does work! Make a notch on the outside edge of the coupler so the tip of the screwdriver has something to hold fast against and give it a quick and sharp tap!
mallet & screwdrver didn't work for me, so I forced a fork under the coupler, the tines spread to hold the driveshaft still so I could twist the coupler off. [don't tell my wife, I didnt have a crappy old fork, & used our good flatware. Luckily the tines bounced right back!]
I just broke off all the plastic part over it. Banging it hard several times, it did not de-thread. And I bent a screwdriver trying to pry it off. This feels impossible, frustrating. Shouldn't there be a better design. Feels like cheap product
My drive coupler just disintegrated today. It is great to have access to this helpful demonstration. Thanks

Great but how do I replace the blade in the pitcher?
Yes!! Blender is back up running, Mahalo!!

Chris Aldrich Thanks for the tip, glad you were able to get it changed!
Did you use the same replacement part they had here or a different one? my model is the same as yours
Great! An easy fix. Many thanks.

It can be a tricky repair, because getting that coupler out is finicky, but it can be done! Thank you for that tip!

MissSophification If it is stuck on that bad you may have to cut it off, be careful not to damage the threaded shaft.
Why not use the little wrench that holds the shaft so you can unscrew it? Way easier than prying the damned thing off...
Thank you
You're welcome!
Shit worked for me. Red Dragons
