this certainly does level the playing field, democratizing the industry. But it also makes me wonder the traditional pipeline for designers, is it truly necessary to spend a ton of money to go to fashion school when you have these tools at your disposal?
my biggest concern is that people in positions of creative authority are trying to use AI to cut out the human element of design specifically so they don't have to pay anybody. why employ somebody with "rights" when you can just ask the AI for the most people-pleasing homogenous data-slurry you can get from it? blegh
If Heuritech is identifying trends through what's already out in the market, then how would they truly forecast what will be trending the following season? This may be great for fast-fashion retailers and brands, but not for brands who want to be ahead of the curve and be trend-setters.
It doesn't look fashion, it looks catalogue. "You would never really know" Sure about that? AI generated "art" generally has a deadeyed sheen that belies it's digital origin. It's as if they are trained to regenerate all those designs that never made it past toile
I am a student from Milan (Graphic Design) and we get a basic education in AI, they started the course 1 Year ago, so its just a matter of time to appear in fashion or other design departments as well.
Ho una domanda da porti, questo processo di "far sfilare modelli con l'intelligenza artificiale è gia qualcosa di realizzabile tramite AI per noi comuni mortali?
Would be a great thing to do for designers expressing ideas that might not be possible to make and execute irl due to fabric limiations and so on, either ready-to-wear or haute couture.
But on a better note AI in general is kinda helpful but will also be taken to an extreme straight out of a movie and it very well could be our downfall
Fantastic video, of course i want more like this, also will be nice to see you talk about Another-1 and AR/VR, NFC technology and polygon blockchain they use to make their phygital goods stand out. They currently have Drip-Lab collection and is really diving deep into the fashion world.
As for the argument that it takes the creativity out , I think from the perspective of a programmer it just takes the creativity and shifts it onto both sets of people. I think this gives fashion designers a new set of tools that they can then use in conjunction with their own creativity and that of the designers of the AI tools.
i think machine learning software like Heuritech will only enforce the cyclical nature of fashion trends, making it more difficult for truly divergent trends to emerge
I totally agree the balance is a must we can see that the AI is a tool and tell now it didn’t reach human intelligence in most cases specially in fashion designing it can help us in designing ,marketing , education, editing , forecasting… but can’t beat human creativity
This is one of the best channels on RUclips and this video was particularly eye-opening on the potential of AI technology in the fashion industry. Please take some time to examine the work of Malik Afegbua, a Nigerian visual artist who used AI technology to create a fashion show featuring elderly people earlier this year (a move interpreted by some as a statement against ageism) . It would also help if you used this platform to bring more international attention to the growing fashion industry across the African continent as well, particularly in countries like Ghana and Nigeria where streetwear brands have taken centre stage.
I really admire your content. You should consider creating a piece on Dominic Ciambrone, AKA "The Shoe Surgeon." Although it may not be directly related to your usual focus, his collaborations with renowned fashion figures are definitely worth exploring.

The more AI progresses the less I'm excited about it and the more I think its going to contribute to... homogeneity and inequity
I’m honestly tired of hearing about A.I anything
including Allen Iverson?
AI should be an assistant and not taking the role as a designer.

If only Advancing, Evolution and Progression could go hand by hand with Spiritual Evolution, this planet would be an ideal one.

Fashion is always heading in the wrong direction. This is concerning
Really interesting listen. I appreciate how you tackle subjects holistically.

interesting take! haven't heard that angle but it makes sense
Ai in fashion? Imagine they just make painted mikes and call it high fashion.
